In many states in the US its not specifically against the law therefore up to an officer to decide if it is safe or reckless driving. Not some fuck sitting still in traffic mad about someone saving everyone time and money.

And yes, sport bike horns are pretty punny sounding but they pierce the air far better than revving and are thus louder to the cager's ear (a couple examples in this video 5:19 and 13:16). Aside from pure decibels, however, the horn has been physiologically programed into our brains to grab our attention (think of Pavlov's dog). Hearing an engine rev, even if they do hear it, doesn't necessary translate to imminent danger. But you do you.

Sorry Wyo Moto, (about 7:40) but in most places, in the United States at least, you are allowed to pass a turning vehicle as long as there is room to do so safely, which includes passing in the brake down lane on something like a farm to market road.

happy to live in germany. im watching these videos for almost a year now and in rly every video most of the close calls were caused by the bikers themself. It has a reason that u first dont split lanes and second dont over take from the right (for the brits from the left)
Did u not watch that video or something? Clearly says its a pitbike track, possibly nothing under a 110cc so by the sound of it he was on the correct track for the bike he was on, nothing to do with how old you are, but to do with the cc of the bike

I believe lane splitting is just fine (when done sensibly) but if it's against the law in the state you are in then surely you are in the wrong (like it or not)? He was just mad because you broke the law Heff ;)
That's why if I lane split I do it responsibly and for a reason. If someone wants to chat about it I'll let them know how my bike is about to overheat and there's nowhere safe for me to pull over.
I split lanes illegally from time to time. The last time, with my 11 year old son riding passenger. 5 drivers blaring their horns, the guy in the truck at the light got out to yell at me. The light turned green and I cruised away happy as can be. I was so excited to share the video but when I checked my gopro, I forgot to turn it on when I got on the bike. =(
If half of you crazy people drove on the correct side of the road, and had the steering wheel on the correct side of the car everything would be fine. 😁

If the biker in the first clip is not allowed to lane split in the state he is in, then that is it. Period. Doesn't matter if it affected the driver or not. Just didn't like it that the driver said something to him about it.

Its fine in California for a motorcycle to split a lane with a car there, but if that car shares a lane with a bike it is illegal. Also 2 motorcycles can share a lane but a car and bike can not.
There really was no problem though, there was plenty of space as he was on the left side, cars squeeze much closer if one is trying to turn right and the other is planning to go straight but at a stop even though it's one lane... he was off to the left planning to go left, there was plenty of room on the right and so the cars could go rather than wait that entire time for a bike or car to be able to go.

I think lane splitting should be legal in all 50 states as long as it's being done safely. If you split at 2 - 3 times the speed limit or 2-3 times the speed of the cars around you. You are making it that much harder for people to see you and that much more likely to get hit.
In AUZ they have the rule that you can lane split up to 20kph, i think thats a good rule, so slow moving traffic and stationary traffic.... makes sense to me...
Sorry Danny I ride a 2017 roadglide and I do not believe in lane splitting. I believe like alot of other people. It is unsafe. Most people are not able to process their brains to see us riders
Well karlo where I live in texas and the places I have rode all over the US. I enjoy riding and I am in no hurry. It is dangerous enough when people don't care about life when they are in a hurry to get no where. But please be careful if you like riding in that nasty traffic

She felt bad about it, there was no harm done, and most likely she got a fright because she didn't realise he was so close. We don't want to alienate all drivers......we already have a lot of hate. Lane splitting isn't legal because car drivers see it as 'unfair' that motorcyclists get special treatment and don't have to wait in heavy traffic. It's legal in dozens of countries all over the planet, and works fine. It's been proven to be safer for motorcyclists in countries where it's been adopted, the only thing stopping it is the small amount of motorcyclists here compared to places in say, Europe, with a higher percentage of motorcycle riders. A filtering and/or lane-splitting bill gets introduced in my state's every legislative session almost every cycle, and goes nowhere, but if those people rode motorcycles it probably would get some traction.

I don’t agree with the biker in the first video, I’m a biker in the state of Utah and I don’t split even though I wish I could. My reasoning? If people on the road aren’t expecting it then their carelessness can nearly kill you and the law will see it as your fault. But that’s just my opinion.

As long as it is done safely there is no reason a cop would pull anyone over for that type of thing at an intersection. People do it all the time even when you're in a car, if there's space they will do it.

happy to live in germany. im watching these videos for almost a year now and in rly every video most of the close calls were caused by the bikers themself. It has a reason that u first dont split lanes and second dont over take from the right (for the brits from the left)

I split lanes illegally from time to time. The last time, with my 11 year old son riding passenger. 5 drivers blaring their horns, the guy in the truck at the light got out to yell at me. The light turned green and I cruised away happy as can be. I was so excited to share the video but when I checked my gopro, I forgot to turn it on when I got on the bike. =(

There really was no problem though, there was plenty of space as he was on the left side, cars squeeze much closer if one is trying to turn right and the other is planning to go straight but at a stop even though it's one lane... he was off to the left planning to go left, there was plenty of room on the right and so the cars could go rather than wait that entire time for a bike or car to be able to go.

I think lane splitting should be legal in all 50 states as long as it's being done safely. If you split at 2 - 3 times the speed limit or 2-3 times the speed of the cars around you. You are making it that much harder for people to see you and that much more likely to get hit.
In AUZ they have the rule that you can lane split up to 20kph, i think thats a good rule, so slow moving traffic and stationary traffic.... makes sense to me...

Lane splitting isn't legal because car drivers see it as 'unfair' that motorcyclists get special treatment and don't have to wait in heavy traffic. It's legal in dozens of countries all over the planet, and works fine. It's been proven to be safer for motorcyclists in countries where it's been adopted, the only thing stopping it is the small amount of motorcyclists here compared to places in say, Europe, with a higher percentage of motorcycle riders. A filtering and/or lane-splitting bill gets introduced in my state's every legislative session almost every cycle, and goes nowhere, but if those people rode motorcycles it probably would get some traction.
