Important Tip:
Pay attention to broken planks and debris on the floor. Stepping on them will attract figure to your location if he is nearby. If he does hear you step on a bit of debris he won’t dash towards you immediately but rather walks over at normal speed (which varies depending on the amount of books you’ve collected). If you’re in this situation you should stay crouched and start moving away from where figure is going towards, it’s a safer alternative assuming you’re either A. not near a closet or B. bad at the heartbeat minigame.

here are tips that might be useful :
1.The Figure follows a specific pathfinding route that randomly generates when you reach door 50.This pathfinding can be easily memorized and when you did i promise to you it will be a lot easier throught the boss fight!
2.When the Figure suddenly coming towards you here is what you are gonna do:DON'T MOVE AND STAY STILL AND DO NOT MAKE A NOISE.it will automatically go away.
3.There are corners considered a safe place except of course is you make a sound.
4.When you are near a Book you will hear a sparkling audio cue that will be a guide for you finding one.
5.If the figure is Up stairs you can look Down floor for books and the same also happens if its down stairs come searching up stairs.
Bonus tip:This game depends on audio cues so Always use Headphones for a more easy gameplay too.

Fun fact: if you look to your left immediately to look at the broken lamp after the door 50 cutscene you can see some of guiding lights sparkles indicating that it was them that pushed the lamp to save you

During the cutscene, check the bookshelves before the cutscene ends. This helps you prematurely scout the book's locations. It has helped me once when during the cutscene a book was on the left set of shelves.
Also another tip, just run to the right bookshelf and u can find bookshelve, crounch and go to that bookshelve nearest to the stairs, figure cant hear u there since walls is blocking it, but thats how i do it at the start

correction, you gotta take the paper before taking any of the books since the paper makes sound, and if you take books you might realize that he's speed and detection range increases depending on how much books you've taken, so baisically if you take the paper lastly he will be so fast that you can't outrun him..

This is useful but they patched your safe spot and now also the last book is always on the downstairs. :( The safe spot you showed has an invisible barrier now they probably updated it. And you can't find all the books, after you get 7 books the last one will always appear randomly downstairs. But your guide is still so useful, I passed the level twice with my friends because of you. Thank you!

in the most derogatory way to term it possible, hearing you yap about doors for 8 minutes is by far one of the most entertaining experiences i’ve ever had the pleasure of having 😂
hey just wanna say, if you take forever on that level his pathfinding will eventually go straight to you, so in that case your only option is to hide in a closet and do the heartbeat minigame
also you don't need all 8 books, if you want you can get like 4 correct books and then guess the last digit
While true, using the lock makes a lot of noise- You are going to have to go through those combinations VERY fast in order to make it before he gets to you
Well you are wrong, no offense but let me explain
You can take as much time as you wants in this level, if someone escapes the room the door will close after seconds, if the door closed and you are still in the library, thats when his pathfinding goes straight to you
You need minimum 7 books to do the level as the last book you are going to get always has the 5th shape. 5 code digit means 5 books but there are 8 of them, so nope 4 books will most likely not be enough for the right code

You cant spend as long as you want in level 50. He will pathfind you if you stand still for too long, or if he just feels like pathfinding you which has happened to me and alot of others multiple times.
Your second part is mostly right, but it has a small flaw to it. Sometimes you can just beat the level without finding all the books. It just depends on what you do and how you play.

Also a useful tip, it seems that players can only hide away from figure 3 times. After that, he will pull you out even though you didn’t fail. Well, I’m not sure if this is always the case but it usually happens to me.

I think there is another safe spot upstairs in the right back corner...
You don't always have to use vitamins to get in a closet when figure is coming to the direction you are at. If you make a sound there's a 80% chance you'll still survive because he will just lose site and track of the sound. When he is coming towards you, don't rush or jump in a closet immediately his path could just be Turing to the direction You are at. I reckon You first start on the left side because it's so much safer, it's also nearer to the paper and figure's walk pattern should not be going back to the start after the cutscene unless you are uncrouch or you make a sound. AND, you can out run him before you get your first 4 books. I have played this game for months and his path finding will always start with the left (obviously) and only if you make a sound he will come back to where u r at. Normally after he turns left he goes straight and turns right, kisses the bookshelf and gos straight and turns a left then he go back to the start which is the left bookshelf and goes up then continues the walk cycle. His detection rate DOES NOT go up when you find more books, it's just his footsteps will get louder. And false, if you put in the code during the end of finding all books does NOT make figure come to your location unless he is on the same level (which is most likely you die if you put in the code) as you are or on stairs if not down, but if figure is at the entrance around the bookshelfs further away, he should not be able to hear you unless his path finding is different. Hope this helps

Important Tip: Figure Cannot outrun you with vitamins (varying on the amount of books you collected) so if he see you and you have vitamins don’t walk use them because he does not get faster chasing you with vitamins in use.

i must say the figure's Detection radius does get larger each time you get a book this also comes with his speed.
While you have to find light green, brown, blue book you aslo have to avoid Fingure detecting sound which will detect where you going, the only way to avoid this is by quickly find and hide in the closet and then control your breath, if you fail first time on controlling your breath the Fingure wont catch you, unless when you repeating it. You can use vitamins to run away from Fingure while crouching
You will die by failing to control your breathing once

I never knew about the paper alerting it about your position, I’ve always been a fool to think standing behind the desk like a deer in headlights was gonna help anything. Also, you may think you are safe in the space where you unlock the door, you aren’t. He barely ever goes there but on rare occasions, due to the way his model works, he can get caught on the shelves via his arms, and turn his head towards you, and at this point you probably have most if not all the books if you are trying to camp there, and, he will 99% of the time see you once turning that way, and you are screwed unless you have fast reflexes
If anyone is struggling, the plan is you need to get the paper first and start getting the books because if you found all the books then the only thing you need to do use the vitamins and run near the stairs and crouch so he can't pathfind you.
You can hide in that pile of chairs and tables and paintings 5:01 you don’t need to always use the closet cuz every time I go up I hid there he never kills me for some reason Idk if it’s really a hiding spot but you can try
Also the sofas on the second floor just hide behind it I am 100% sure that’s safe spot
Small tip: You actually do not need all 8 books to unlock the lock. If you have 7 books, that's fine too. You can simply just keep guessing the digit that you don't have. Eventually, you will get it and it shouldn't take more than 9 guesses since the digit only goes up to 9.

Just so you know, if you step on one of the things on the ground, potted plant for example, it will alert him no-matter if you are crouched or not. This is what happens at 3:42

More Tips:
- You need to crouch as Figure has hearing about 5 times better than the average player and he can also adjust his hearing like how you can close your eyes, once Figure is upstairs, you have limited time to uncrouch.. and by limited I mean 5 seconds, it’s optional though so don’t worry. 😉 also be aware that if Figure starts heading towards you for no reason (which is when crouching), don’t run, instead just wait for him to leave your radius until you feel like you have distance, but if you get too close to him he could hear your heartbeat or footsteps near him, it will be almost impossible to escape that situation if not already.
- Now you might not get through the library on your first try but exiting the library will gradually get easier when you know how to beat it, you turn to the left of the bookshelves and stand up (BUT DON’T MOVE) at the desk near the windows then grab the paper Guiding Light (Light blue mist) is showing to you, aka Spirit. Collect all the books (8 books) and then push out 3 shapes and then solve the code. To solve it you will need to look at the paper (probably more than once) and look at the left side of your screen where the shapes show and then put each shape’s corresponding number into the right place of the padlock (which Figure set and randomized before he was blind) that shows on the paper, it gives a sort of example of what you need to do. NOTICE: you MUST get the paper in order to beat the library
Extra tip: The game gets harder as you beat level 50 as Hide will become more aggressive and Screech appears slightly more often and Rush comes a lot more often and Seek will have a round 2 of chasing you.

8:10 that happened to me once only, 2 people were waiting for me at the exit door but figure often got upstairs so i had a lot of trouble when figure got back i climbed upstairs and THEY DAMN LEFT WITHOUT ME. and then i rushed to the door (i didnt have vitamins sad) and then died to figure after
Fact: the books that have the code look brighter from the others, the other books have a sand kind of texture
And they make sparkling noises

I’m a Funky Friday/used-to-be osu!mania player so the heartbeat game is the easiest thing in the world. I mainly rely on that to keep myself safe
You don’t need to get all the books. Every single time I beat this game, I only got four of the shapes on the paper. I just guessed the last number on the lock until I got it
There was a closet to the left of the lock, so when the monster was coming, I just hid in there
That’s how I beat it. It’s pretty ineffective, but for me it works
I play Roberts ( another rythm game ) so the heartbeat is superb ez

I gotta love how, usually in single player, he will get stuck on a lot of things and end up looking like he's had a bit too much to drink due to the somewhat wonky AI. It's kind of embarrassing that a good amount of my losses are due to this not-demigorgon stumbling around drunk until he happens to graze my toe.
Another tip is just to stay away from the opposite shelves. like if figure was on the left set of shelves, you would go on the right. or up to the 2nd floor
You don't actually have to collect all 8 books. We only had 4 correct books, so i kept luring the figure into balcony by walking on planks and my sister was just brute forcing her way through the lock, op strat

- Extra tip -

If your in a squad, don’t just right away open the door, instead, wait for your teammates to come to the locked door and insert the code. This is a really important technique for people who more usually play squads, trio or duos, perhaps, when door 51 is open, the figure will have a stat boots, meaning that:
> He will get a huge speed boost.
> His radius will be max, meaning his hearing sense increases.
These actions increases per each book you get. If you immediately open the door, it will be more hard for your teammates that are still not past door 50 to survive from the figure.

ive had moments where I didnt have to collect all 8, I have done 7 and guessed the missing figure. So fyi, you can do that too. It just may be a bit slower.

I almost had it. I didn’t hide in closets at all because I didn’t have to most of the level. The paper made it very clear to do the code. So I grabbed what I thought to be all the books. And went up to do the code. I didn’t have the last piece so I started searching. And as I went back he noticed my movement and caught me.

What if he’s just a librarian that evolved into a demogorgen. He probably had good eyesight but maybe humans destroyed his library once & ruined his eyesight. Now he tries to protect his library now. Which this explains the library shelf’s that are down. All though I do find something funny about him, I feel like he’s not trying to eat us, but rather warn us to get out. But hey that’s just a theory, A GAME THEORY!

This could be helpful since he doesn't go towards the exit anymore, Once you got the note now you can stay in the same spot in front of the lock and do it if your stuff disappear you can move again but not when Figure is near is too risky.
I’m very happy that the upstairs safe-spot hasn’t been patched, it’s very helpful. I used to it to beat door 50 for the first time in my life, I picked up 7 books and I searched every shelf upstairs-i was too scared to go downstairs, judging his speed.
So i just guessed 0-9 for the last digit.

fun fact: at the start you can hear something break that causes figure to turn to the other side, it may be guiding light knocking it over to help you *OR* it's just a random fricking lamp that fell.

Tip:U will always die or sometimes while running up to the 2 floor. To remain from doing that buy vitamins instead of flash light because they both are 100 knobs (2: If u r doing heart beat mini game press when the hearts come closer to the heart also I just known today lol(3:He said taking vitamins will make him faster which is wrong.

I’m pretty sure not much people know this, but as you can see when you hide in the closet in door 50 it does not have that thing where it forces you out
