I think a great entry into heavy music is the album Ænima by TOOL. The singer, Maynard, has some of the best screams ever, but is also very melodic. They don’t beat you over the head with heaviness, but they have their moments (plus TOOL fans will come in droves to watch reactions)
basically everything almost after this album is more dreamy like saturday night wrist or some parts of diamond eyes but yeah screaming and heavier music is an adquiried taste. pd. sorry for my English i dont speak it very well
Perfect English don’t worry! I definitely want to check out more albums by them because then I can fully conclude that I’m either not a fan or I actually do enjoy their other stuff 😂
This album is their 2nd album. The next, White Pony, is their first big commercial success. Almost every album starting with White Pony, and especially after, is going to have a mix of emotional AND heavy songs because there has been a push and pull between Stephen Carpenter (guitarist, heavy) and Chino Moreno (vocalist, guitarist, more melodic) when it comes to the band's songwriting and direction throughout the years. You're looking for Deftones songs mostly written by Chino, as opposed to Stephen
PLEASEEEEE, check out their self titled album from 2003, its very fkn heavy but it has that atmosphere you were talkin about, it's from the album right before the one with Beware on it
If you’re a fan of Deftones more melodic style, I’d definitely recommend pretty much everything from Saturday Night Wrist onwards. That includes Saturday Night Wrist, Diamond Eyes, Koi No Yokan, Gore, and Ohms (especially the first 3 listed)
I try my best to respect everyone’s opinion but man, I can’t help but feel it’s a crime to not like this album 😪 my favorite album by them is definitely Koi No Yokan tho
My bad my bad, I know it’s so loved but unfortunately just wasn’t for me 😩 i definitely want to check out more albums though! although I wasn’t a fan of Around The Fur, it still has me intrigued
This is actually their second album, their first album is Adrenaline from 1995
Which also fucking slaps
i LOVEEE deftones this reaction caught me off guard omggg u managed to bring a smile to
my face once again 🫶🫶
I’m soooo glad!! Thank you for watching ❤️❤️
