For those that “lost protune”, here is a GitHub repository for a GoPro remote that you can flash to a TTGO esp32 board with display. It gets all of your protune settings back. This was optimized by HouseFPV github.com/mikeneiderhauser/GoPro_Remote
Duuuude! I’m stoked my video helped out 🤘 and thank you for the support. I greatly appreciate it! Working on some more FPV stuff for RUclips so keep an eye out.
GoPro removed that feature a few updates ago. Joshua Bardwell has a good video on an alternative to getting those settings back. Or you can peek at the pinned comment at the top of this thread. Thanks for watching!
Hey I don't know a lot about fpv but is there a way to change the range on the session 5? Like how far it can go? Or if you need something to upgrade it ya know?
Hmm you might need to do some more research. The GoPros we use don’t actually transmit any video and don’t need “range”. We see the video in our goggles thru another FPV camera specialized for low latency image transmission. Hope this helps!
Wow. Opened the Go Pro app now it doesnt show any of the features/settings like before, such as the protune color, ISO etc. You know anything about that.
@@kreativ_corals OK. Cause I used to be able to before, just didn't know where to put all the settings, then opened app. Gone. Workaround? OK will see.
Ohhh that sounds dope! I would try without one first. If you feel like you still want more motion blur, add a filter. I would start by adding ND4. Thanks for watching!
@@kreativ_corals awesome thank you! Your video is really informative. I'll try without one first. Any recommendations on fps and shutter speed in a situation like that? I'm using a gopro sessions 5 and will probably use reelsteady after I film it. I'm super new to using anything gopro. I'm used to just pushing the 1 record button on my sessions 4 and I have left it on the same settings cause I never knew what works best. Right now it feels like the 4 is giving me way better footage and I'm sure its cause the 5 has some bogus settings. They both were purchased used.
@@joshuamelton8773 pro tune setting have been removed from the GoPro app and that was where you would go in and change the settings. Currently, you have to do some tinkering to get those settings back. I believe the comment at the top of this thread has a link to directions on how to do that. I recommend filming in 2.7K because that is the highest resolution the session5 can record in Superview. Make sure stabilization isn’t turned OFF. That should be a good start!
@@kreativ_corals supposedly BLE remote is an App that still allows the changing of those settings but I'm still figuring out how to connect it. I'll let you know if it does allow for those settings to be changed. I got into the gopro quick and set it to wide angle. And I turned the stabilization off cause that's what I thought you said works best in the video. I did a test flight and the video looks alot better now but I'll try putting stabilization back on. Its currently set to 30 fps
@@joshuamelton8773 good stuff! You can try stabilization but in my experience it actually doesn’t work that well so it makes the footage look even worse. And make sure you have it set Superwide and not just wide. Yeah keep me posted 🤙
Thanks homie. The only advatage to really using 24 is that you can get that slower 1/48 shutter. With the 30fps you're at 1/60 shutter ... not much fast but you'll see a tad less blurr.
@@loop_fpv1261 Sounds like the GoPro might be broken. I have never encountered or heard of anyone else having this problem so I am not sure how to fix. Sorry mate.
Great question! The newest Smartphone App update actually removed all those options. I KNOW....terrible. Not totally sure why GoPro would do this. I am assuming it's becuase they want people to use another program/app that will cost money :( there might be ways to get around it but have not explored any myself. So, unless you can downgrade your app to the previous version, there is no way to edit any of the "protune" settings. Settings I am using since the update are as follows: Resolution 2.7K | FPS 30 | Field of View Superview | No Video Stabilization. And thats it. Hope that helps some, and thanks for watching!
Camera Butter has the best filters for session5 in my opinion. If you’re on more of a budget, try the Irix Gelatin filters but you’ll need to get the “stickies” from camera butter so you can attach the filters to the session. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching dude! The stabilization on the session5 is notoriously horrible. I would not use it or the gyro data.
