I'm still working on the lore behind that, my thought is that the Faunus were once enslaved by the Sith but fled after the fall of the Sith Empire... however few were discovered to be force sensitive due to some of the Sith doing [Not allowed to say] to the women, and when Sidious became a Sith the Faunus who could harness the force to some degree felt his presence due to the Sidious's dark and twisted nature and strong connection to the dark side. Again, this lore is a work in progress... but if anyone wants to add to it feel free to do so.
