Even when he knows he's getting rid of a player, he says "He's a great player, but he wants to pursue his opportunities elsewhere, so we wish him luck" etc. The way he talks even when getting rid of a player, you wouldn't know they are getting rid of him.

Sad state of affairs that spurs fans are turning on this guy already. I guess that's modern football though that no manager gets a proper chance to instil their ideas into a team. The chances we've created you can see what he's trying to do, it's not his fault the players can't stick the ball in the dam net. Very fickle fan base unfortunately, just remember how toxic the club was before he came in.

@Mr.RobotHead Yes, it might not have been different but that would be a different gameplan to how they would normally play, no? They clearly used our weakness against us - compact defenses and set pieces. Moreover why is Ange using Son as a winger to throw crosses around? His best role is an inside forward, and as one of the better shooters in the team, he should be having Son and Solanke taking shots, not using defensive players like Udogie or Porro taking more shots than forwards. What good is possession when they can't put themselves ahead of the opponents in the scoresheet and what good is it if they can't keep the lead?

Sad reflection on where our society is at …. It’s now deemed more important and held to a higher status to be a victim, than to strive and take it on the chin when we fail in our endeavours.
It used to be good parenting to hold our children and ourselves to a higher standard and strive to improve…. Now it’s more important to not hurt feelings and to not have expectations in case it makes some (lazy weak minded) person feel bad.
Ange (in 13 months) is trying to change 30 years of mediocrity by putting high expectations on our squad …. And how crazy that the Spurs fans who are obviously footballing masterminds somehow think we should be further along than we are if we were to listen to their wisdom 😅 it’s actually laughable that Ange and some players are being vilified when the journey has only just begun.
But then again for many it’s more desirable to complain than it is to support.

I see Ange's point on believing he can win something in his 2nd year because that is what he's done. The problem I see is that the players don't seem to be good enough in scoring areas, whether that is down to the pressure of expectations or simply down to not being good enough I don't know. You can say that players like Johnson and Odebert and Son and Kulesevski have a lot of upside, but then you could say that of any player ever. If you continue to demonstrate that lack of upside, if you continue to display the same inconsistency in your game there is no upside, you hit your ceiling. I look at a lot of these Spurs players and see exactly that, limited players who aren't good enough. The best teams like the Man City's and Real Madrids of this world win stuff because their biggest and best players perform in the biggest moments. That is what separates the really good teams from the rest, they have big game players and I don't see Tottenham having any of those. Son maybe, but even he has missed some big goals recently that a big game player puts away.

Main problem with this fan base is they've been starved of trophies for too long. A start stop season and lackluster performance just get on their nerves and cause them to become reactive seeking to sack the gaffer / sell the player.
What Ange has is endeavour. He sees us being successful. He see us having no limits. He wants us to be good. When you looking at numbers and stats objectively we are better off than the previous 4,5 seasons. The football we play is exciting. We've invested. We've been trying. We just need time to deliver results, it's a football club not a microwave ready meal.

Postecoglou couldn't make a plausible excuse to sports journalists and Spurs fans. His strategy & tactics were perfectly analyzed by other EPL teams. However, he doesn't know how to develop some alternatives to solve this serious problem. On top of that, many squad members didn't know how to build teamwork to get attacking points in the worst match. Most of them had aspired to reach their personal statistical data instead of becoming winning team members. Probably they wanted to become top scorers but they couldn't do that. Tottenham needs another team rebuilding process in the upcoming winter transfer season if it doesn't want to become a losing club in the EPL.

Re Ange's comments re success in the second season, I think the reason it irks British people is that it is just not normal in British culture for people to big themselves up in that way. Mourinho had the same backlash following his "special one" comments back in 2004. Whether we like it or not, in Britain, we generally resent or dismiss the success of others rather than encourage or be happy for those who succeed, which is far more of an American thing.
