Up Helly Aa 2023. The Shetland Viking Fire Festival

"Up Helly Aa", the Shetland Island's Fire Festival is back after 3 years and G's Tite Lines was there to witness this amazing spectictal.
On a cold and windy January evening, thousands of Shetland folk dress in traditional Viking outfits and parade flaming torches through the streets of Lerwick before the torches are tossed in the wooden Viking Galion.
An absolute honour to witness such an ancient and sacred tradition.

Its so funny watching some of the costumes the Scalloway one is the best by the way. Bonfire night is also pretty fun its like guy fox being burnt.
