  • The Indian Medical Association Arunachal Pradesh and the Arunachal Pradesh Doctors Association (APDA) had submitted a memorandum to the Minister of Health and Family Welfare, GoAP, regarding discrepancies in the MBBS seat allocation at TRIHMS.
IMA:AP President Dr. Kesang W. Thongdok shared details of the memorandum, submitted on July 18, 2024, which pointed out that the previous allocation reserved 20% of the state share seats for Non-APST candidates and 4% for NRI candidates, disadvantaging indigenous APST students. In response, the government issued a fresh notification that ensures the entire 85% of the state quota seats are now allocated to bonafide APST candidates, rectifying the earlier discrepancies and benefiting local aspiring medical students.
The IMA and APDA commend the prompt action taken by the Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Health Minister Biyuram Wahge.
