The pencil sharpener tip is brilliant. So simple. Gave me one of those "why did I never think of that before" moments. And the log carrier/clothes line is a great one as well.

I absolutely love this content. In these times of absolute madness, going out in nature is one of the only ways you can truly feel at peace. Might as well practice bushcraft while out there, and there's always a steady stream of nice ideas coming from here.

I am a born and raised city boy, with very little survival experience (outside of an urban environment). But this is all such useful and practical information, and it inspires an urge to head into the woods; to discover some dormant ancient wisdom and skills that my ancestors knew well enough to get me here. I may not (yet) be a survivalist, but after binging several of your videos, I’m definitely a subscriber. Great stuff man. Cheers!

I love setting up a plough point tarp shelter. Keeping it ready like that in a pocket of your pack is such great idea!

Brilliant idea with the tent pegs for the grill. So obvious of a choice but yet not something I never thought of doing. Thanks.
I will warn you, if you try this. Finding a piece of ground that is perfectly uniform at all 3 points can be difficult. If one of the pegs is on a small root, you may find it tips over when adding weight as the stakes are driven further under ground. Or the ground may just be too soft at all. Source: I tried to build my own camp stove and disliked using tent stakes
Leave the tent pegs at home, four rocks work just as good or better. Your welcome.
i dont think it was his idea lol a few of these things are in the videos of alfie aesthetics. i think mike watches him. cant blame him, alfie is a bushcraft guru.

Instead of tent pegs I use 3 12 inch shelf l brackets they fit great into my haversack

When using a bow drill put a few pieces of sand in the bowl. This increases friction, and produces a bit of wood dust, and that causes the fire to start quicker. I love the pencil sharpener.

This is amazing work. But what people may not realize is the extremely hard work of filming it all. Camera setup. Filming a movie. Then you go back to pick up your camera and clean myself up again. And then edit it all together. I myself have recently started making videos about bushcraft, so I really understand how hard it is. A beautifully made video shows that you really love what you do. If you are using a sack, I strongly suggest sewing along each to strengthen the bottom and sides with a simple overcast stitch wrapping over the edge. It stops the contents or rough ground wearing or cutting through the sack material. We used to do this with farm sacks many years ago and any tough natural twine will do it. Dont use man made twine or it will cut the natural sack fibres.

Hessian sacks also a pillow substitute, prefilter for water and a strip cut off can make a bandage to secure a gauze.

I absolutely love this guy and his family do in shelters teaching us new things new ways to get back in contact with nature Would love to see you go out in the forest maybe without any tools and you a survival challenge or something
The pencil sharpener is a great idea, I've used them in my kit for years. But what I find most useful is one of those sharpeners that are made inside their own reservoir to hold the shavings. On a hot, dry day I'll take a bone dry twig and shave it down until the reservoir is filled to the top with shavings. Nice, dry, ready to spark shavings! A good way to carry some extra tinder.

I usually carry burlap sac with me...they are very useful wrapped around your shoes to go through slippery terrain, namely rocky river crossings...the grip improves significantly!

For a newbie like me I love these tip video's easy to follow and recreate cheers mate 👍
Here's a Tip: look up what a Buddy Burner is. It's a great style of portable easy campfire that you make with rolled up cardboard soaked in wax and shove the roll into a metal container.
Well after you make it you can keep filling it with chunks of hard wax while it's burning and it will last you for agessss literally ages. It takes forever to burn down and all you need is to carry a significant amount of wax with you. One huge thick candle cut into small pieces to can fuel your fire for 6 hours non stop very easy, provided your buddy burner is the size of a tuna can or similar.
I make them tea light candles (with cardboard rolls 2x taller than the metal rim) and they last 6 hours if I keep feeding, to have campfires in the woods in the park near a lake for just enjoying my night before riding my electric bike back home. It's the easiest way to make a campfire if you live a city where campfires are not allowed as you're not burning wood but are burning wax. It's basically a candle so cops are cool with it mostly and should be fine.
Make sure to never pour water in it when it's burning though, as it creates an explosion of napalm burning wax splattering everywhere basically. Be very careful with that.
It's reusable so super good for campfires.

I haven't read all the comments so this may be a repeat. The sack that you used looked like what we call where I come from a burlap bag. My grandfather used to use them instead of a basket or stringer to keep his catch alive in the water. (Fish)
