    I can attest to the fact that a 29x2.3/2.4 will handle so much better for us shorter riders than a 2.6 (I changed my emtb and it made such a huge difference!!).

    8:26 that's loose cones, you need to adjust the bearing preload using cone wrenches. This means hub was not assembled properly. But even if it was it can come loose eventually.

    • @ken23434
      @ken23434 2 года назад +3

      I would loosen them up more, add some grease and then adjust the preload properly on this bike. Heck, that should be standard on all big box store bikes.

      @WOLFTICKVIDEOS  2 года назад

      👍

    • @EBikeBuilder_
      @EBikeBuilder_ 2 года назад

      usually on these walmart bikes they come too tight and your bearings are grinding around the hubs! Then you can end up with metal shavings and grit in the bearing races. Too tight or too loose, either way can cause damage. There usually isn't much grease in the hub either. First thing I'd check on these bikes if I care about the wheels. But i know the wolftick fellas ride them like they come, and will replace the wheel anyways!

    • @WOLFTICKVIDEOS
      @WOLFTICKVIDEOS  2 года назад

      @Kenneth Harrod we have to review it pretty much as is as much as possible first, then we can do the wrenching and greasing😉👍.

    • @coldaleonthefrontporch6748
      @coldaleonthefrontporch6748 2 года назад +1

      I think that it's SOP for headset and crank bearings to be suspect in big box bikes, not to mention the wheel bearings. It all depends on who assembled the bike and how busy they where. Then there is the sobriety factor.

      We could never forget you Poe!!! We aren't putting the videos that we would have put on RUclips or anything like that. The Patreon is a great way for us to put up stuff we just can't on RUclips for numerous reasons. We don't have to put much extra time into Patreon due to no need to edit language and it's usually our extra Raw footage from when we record stuff for our channel. We love being able to put up stuff with no care about the masses and find it almost therapeutic. We would never ask anyone to join, but someone like you might enjoy it enough to justify the $10 dollar a month asking price to have the extra dose of 🐂💩 we spew out🤮😆. Either way we have lots of stuff coming after the winter slow time, so stay tuned and frosty😉👍.

    Hey Jeremiah, guess what, I sold my Villotti and got one of these Explorer FS's. I have to say, this needed a lot of dialing in. But once I got the Saker dialed in (only worked from 5th to 9th, cable was way loose), greased and tightened up the rear hub, changed out the grips to cheap lock on's, put Wake Handlebars and Stem and straightened the front rim, it works great. It definitely is geared very low for climbing, not for top end. I left the Neco alloy pedals on, they aren't half bad. But it's one heavy bike.

    1:29 a comment about this is 99 percent of forks that are big box are like that. in order to prevent this you have to keep cleaning the stantions regularly meaning practically every day. the reason why you have to keep cleaning them is so dust and other debris doesn't get into the insides and clog up the suspension. i would guess the reason why this explorer was on clearance was because of that fork tbh. as someone who's parents were far to cheap to buy a bike over 150 dollars as a kid I only got walmart and target bikes so I know this issue very well. happened on my schwinn santis and my axum. same with the other bikes I had when I was younger but those were kents and avigos lol

    I think you should send that bike back to Wallmart and get something that is better stock. Remember that people looking to purchase a bike in this price range is not going to upgrade it as soon as the first ride. Maybe you can try the Schwinn Santis or Taff Comp. Also how about some XR pro Videos.

    • @WOLFTICKVIDEOS
      @WOLFTICKVIDEOS  2 года назад

      Not sure what you are basing that on considering it did better than a lot of bikes we have tested. The Taff Comp is just not that appealing of a bike to us for two reasons primarily, looks and size. Remember we got this bike at Walmart not through the mail, and that is always bonus points in our book as it makes it a bike that will be searched more often. The Tick actually loves the look and riding experience of this bike so unfortunately you will be seeing it around for a while😉😆. We should have some more XR Pro videos at some point, but unfortunately it is not a bike The Tick gets excited for, so it gets pushed back easier than some others. Hope this helps. Thanks👍

    9:14 You need to adjust the reach and the lever position on the handlebar to get enough leverage and not fatigue your finger. Stop abusing yourself. The brake lever is clamped way too far out on the bar. The brakes should be placed so you cane use the index finger to brake, and reach should be adjusted to end up braking with mid bone.
    No wonder you could not brake in time. You did not have enough leverage.
