Better for both of them to make a clean break. Safer, too.

Oh boy, looks like Olivia started cheating on Alex the moment right before the accident causing herself to be paralyzed. Now not only she's paralyzed, got resigned, lost trust of her parents, and now a divorced paralyzed evil woman.
Every time in these stories they catch an attitude with the spouse's parents for asking why they aren't at the hospital instead of just explaining the spouse was cheating. Would have been so hard to just text "She cheated on me so I'm not coming." instead of being an ass to the mom?
Not dramatic enough for a story. That and with no evidence - and conflicting trust - who are they going to believe? You might would need to send them ALL the evidence or they would still be angry with you; even after the court case. Because the trust they had in you was shattered while keeping their trust in their child. That's it.
Men get laughed at when they admit to any sort of vulnerability. Plus being as angry as one would be after discovering something like this, one isn't inclined to explain things.

I really hope the affair partner got karma too cause past surviving a car accident that seems to have only harmed Olivia he got away with leaving her cause she's of no use to him anymore plus he's a business partner from what Alex said. I want to imagine he got in trouble for not only having sleeping with someone from work but for abandoning someone he's technically responsible for. He also gets sued like Olivia's mom was going to do to Alex until he was able to explain everything since she's more likely to trust her daughter(who has yet to confess to anything at the time) which yes I need to point out cause this isn't exactly one of those times were telling someone right away everything works. The affair partner is forced to pay a large lump sum(cause he doesn't want to keep paying her) that goes towards Olivia living/caretaker, he also gets in trouble at work with people likely not looking to fondly of him for both the affair & not taking responsibility until forced to. I hope Alex if he chooses to date again finds a faithful person that doesn't try to cause them to become distant to cover up stuff & leave him. Maybe also get some therapy given what he had to deal with.
