I'd never heard somebody describe WALKING--"a controlled stumble"--so well. And then the idea of a wave crashing, and then receding....Great explanation of the fundamentals of movement!

I don't practice ShotoKan, I practice ShitaRyu. However I do admire the way this guy is instructing his students. Osssu.

No matter how you look at it, every karate kata from the traditional Shotokan and Fudokan style is demanding and the kata must be renewed for a long time, because from the kata we learn new moves, and there is no end to learning. you can only improve it, practice the rhythm of karate kata and where there is a need for a break during the performance and the breathing technique also comes to the fore. HJean oj kumi kata is not just any kata, but one with its correct execution and slightly more demanding techniques.

Great instruction, you can tell just by watching one video how skilled he is. The road traffic noise is a constant struggle I'm sure.

+Sylvester Walsh That is not instructing my friend. That is teaching. An instructor instructs by rote "go like this" a Teacher actually teaches the meaning of what is happening at any given moment and that is what this Teacher is doing. Winning! We need more like him.

the ten no kata I was taught had that same move but in several steps in different directions. Like most katas.

Great. Dear Sir... That is certainly commendable from my side. because it is better to practice and improve 10 karate katas than 20 not knowing or performing them correctly. and to add to that 33 katas, which must be practiced more in order for a master to preserve them, - not a small thing. Over time, if they are not renewed and practiced in each respective free time, those kata are simply lost and it is a struggle until the master retrieves them. That's why everything has its why and wherefore....

@@sohihandavorrupenovic That's another good reason to write them down with pictures and record them on video.
