I have had that same interior for four years now. What I found works the best is Armor All Cleaning Wipes. Keep them in the car. They work incredible on the seats as well as every other surface in the car. Amazing product!
If you are planning to keep the car for a long time, preventatively covering them is a good idea. That being said, my 'uncovered' seats seem to be holding up well over the past ~10yrs of aging/use. I do use a leather care product on them routinely to avoid cracking.
