Definitly the most talented player of the draft behind Wright. I hope the habs doesnt make the mistake to not take him! His playoffs performance is truly insane
Next Olympics: we will have Slafkovsky, Chromiak, Dvorsky, and Mešar as our top forwards, Fehervary, Nemec, Knažko, and Černak as our best D, and they will all be in their 20s (Dvorsky will be exactly 20). Its looking good for us!
LOVE the content man! You have GREAT footage. AND your analysis is on point. Request : could you do Denton Mateychuk Seamus Casey Pavel Mintyukov and Kevin Korchinski next? I’m interested in comparing the different top defencemen of the draft (which would be so much easier with YOUR vids on them)
Thanks for watching! Appreciate it! Mintyukov is next video coming out tomorrow! Mateychuk and Korchinski in the near future. Check out the Community tab on homepage where you can vote on player of next video. Thanks again!
Nicely detailed and agreed all the way around. From what I can see of his vision and awareness he can move the puck successfully away from a high pressure situation along the boards which does a tremendous deal to mitigate concerns that I would otherwise have about his compete level in a position like that. I had already decided by the time the world juniors came around (Habs fan) that I wanted him in this year’s draft and that play, albeit brief, cemented it. Shane Wright is always nice but if their pick lands about where they need to grab him, that’s aces in my books. For bonus points, I’m betting he’s NHL ready by the fall and won’t take long to adjust to North American ice.
Agreed...whatever team lands him will be happy with his upside. Just some things to firm up on defensive side and he could turn out to be a great pick up.
As a diehard devil fan I don't understand the fans. We desperately needed a defensive player. We can score 6 goals. Doesn't help when you give up 8. Blackwood is a great goalie who nobody knows about since he can't get any help. Brodeur had great defense in front of him. We have enough scorers
@@somedudenamedryan personally as a devils fan I wanted slaf and I think he is going to be the best player out of the draft and on top of that he is a fun guy and fits a need, SO it was hard to let it sink in that the fucking Canadians drafted him when there fans didn’t even want him and were saying he wasn’t top 3. On the other hand I still think we got a top 3 player in the draft who fits a need instead of Wright
@@somedudenamedryan They're not sold solely for being ignorant. This kid is going to shine and will eventually pair with Luke Hughes as our first line pairing defensive tandem for the next 15+ seasons.
@@captainmofongo584 oh ya im hyped about the pick. Hes a better prospect then luke Hughes was. No need for another center unless its a generational talent
Would be a great fit with the Flyers for sure! But I'm sure a lot of teams have him on the radar...especially since he's been on fire in the playoffs in Slovakia!
Oh please be left at 5th and please Flyers pick this man. He is so mature already and no problems with injuries. Please bring him to flyers and Provorov would be perfect to play with him in future
Absolutely! Just waiting for CHL season to end so I can have entire season of stats to include in each video. Should have videos of Wright, Savoie, etc... coming in next week. Thanks!
Wouldn't mind him with the habs if they were to pick 3rd... I mean next years forwards prospects are not bad at all and the habs are probably gonna draft high again... the habs do need a top pairing D man... and short of ghule there doesn't seems to be any candidate
As a Devils fan, I didn't like this pick. Now that my real bitterness has worn off over it, I can give an honest assessment of it. Nemec has extremely lofty comparisons, yet his stats don't really jump off the page (assist heavy for the most part; doesn't seem much of a shooting threat). Neither does his play. I watched him play WC, world juniors... I didn't notice him much. He was "there", but he's not flashy, he wasn't always with the puck on his stick during a power play. He just "just there". That's good news to some extent because it's not like you saw him too often with the other team's arms raised in the air. But he doesn't have any wow factor whatsoever. Players with no wow factor rarely become superstars unless at least they got leadership and presence to compensate. And Simon Nemec doesn't even seem to have much of that. So they compare him to Adam Fox, Roman Josi, I even heard Rasmus Dahlin, button said Noah Dobson. Button's was fair... the rest: how and why? Other than that he doesn't seem to make too many mistakes, why is this guy to be considered like Pietrangelo, Doughty, Hedman, Niedermeyer? But these are lofty expectations for someone who frankly... I've watched play over 15 times, and I've never been like "wow what a play by Nemec" even once. I didn't really notice him until his name came up in the draft. To me? His greatest comparables in terms of career projections are guys like Hampus Lindholm and Cam Fowler. It's not that I think he's a bad player; it's that I think he's basically a 10th overall pick that got considered "the best defenseman" of this draft, but this draft isn't oozing with high quality defensemen, and even then, he could be exceeded by a Korchinski or a Mateychuk. And in terms of team needs, NJ probably needed Jiricek more than they needed this guy because they are sorely lacking in locker room presence... not that one should care about this when drafting, but you still care about it in the future. The good news for Devils fans is that Luke Hughes does have that wow factor, and is by and far the better chance of becoming a superstar (his skating is Makar levels). Will they win a Cup with a Hughes Nemec tandem on the first pairing? Not unless they have a hell of a goaltender and J. Hughes and Hischier both turn into franchise players. This guy is not a franchise defenseman; to me franchise defensemen have PRESENCE. You NOTICE them when they're playing. He did the opposite of that to me. He'll probably be a pretty good complement to Luke, but if anyone is expecting 80 points from this guy... well I hate to disappoint you; you're getting a 40 - 50 (50 - 60 given the way the NHL's going, but that just means there's more offense in the NHL) point defenseman and it'll probably be a statline of 6 - 44. He'll be a great Brian Rafalski to a Scott Stevens... but the issue is that the Devils don't have any Scott Stevens. They're just loading up on Rafalskis. What confounds me the most is how much presence is overlooked as a trait. His comparisons to Hedman are mundane because Hedman is scary to play against and this guy isn't spooking anyone. Brandt Clarke was much closer. On top of all of this, outside of the playoffs, most of his points were assists, and he didn't get "that much better" from last year either. Whom should they have drafted? Wright. Wright could well be a center to the likes of Joe Sakic or Steve Yzerman or Ron Francis (so let's say Francis will be happy to have drafted him)... if NJ has too many centers, well then those are "good problems to have". A real bad problem to have is to watch picks after yours exceed yours in NHL agency and superstar talent. I'd have not minded this pick at all at 8OA, but at 2OA, you're not getting a 2OA calibre defenseman unless you're referencing Ryan Murray.
wow you watched him 15 times and know exactly how his career is gonna pan out? why don’t you have a gm job in the nhl with that type of future-telling ability? so dumb almost thought you were a ranger fan.
