Great video. I own Glocks, AKs, ARs, ect. I bought a C9 just to play around with and really like it. Mine has functioned flawlessly for over 2 years. They are very accurate do to the fixed barrel design. Nice place you have there too.

Good video. I purchased my Hp c9 back in 2004. Still have it to this day. Still shoots better then my G23 and the gun only been clean 3 times since I had it. Never had any problems with my c9.

It's really not a bad gun. There's a lot of just beginning private security firms that use them since they're inexpensive and effective. I'd personally prefer an M&P .40, but this gun is still effective. Better to have a gun than to have no gun at all.

I have two hi-point C-9's. I really like the gun. The major draw back is the magazines ( I have a number of them). They just don't feed right. Until Hi-point gets the magazine problem fixed. I won't risk my life to use it for home or self defense. There is just too many handguns out there that function reliably on the cheap.

Hi Point is a good gun. Some malfunction, but I can tell you the warranty is incredible. 1st owner...2nd owner...3rd owner, they still cover it and I know first hand. Part breaks? no problem. Call them and tell them...part goes out that day. They are really nice to do business with.

I know right! Plus, I have the JHP model in .45, and am thinking about getting the c9, mostly because it feels like shooting a desert eagle. My sister loves the aesthetics of Hi Points, as well as I. We both love how they look and feel. So, anyways, my sister shot it and the front sight hit her in her forehead.

There is nothing wrong with a Hi Point, True they are kind of big for a carry gun, but for home safety or Glove Compartment Gun, they would be great. I myself have a JHP .45 Hi Point and I love it, I want to get a .45 Hi Point Carbine also, the mag interchange. I will be loading up a couple thousand rounds to stash away. The price for .45 ACP Ammo is about the same as for the 9MM Ammo. It's just a matter of preference. I need a heavier gun and the . 45 Hi Point with 10 rounds comes in at 3 1/2 pounds. Great shooting Guns, Mine has not missed a beat.

    Nice video, JW.
Your C-9 sure seemed to run darn well right out of the box!
I’m going to get a C-9 as a “project” gun when I pick up my Ruger 9e. Plan to do a lot of clean up and polishing on the internals and magazine tweaks. Also plan to coat the grips with texture.
It’ll get range time and probably then end up spending it’s time in a holster mounted inside my Crown Vic console.
    Take care,
    Bob

The great thing about its size and weight is you can use it as a bludgeoning weapon when you run out of ammo and the target is still kicking. I have one and it does feel cheap when compared to my XD, but it makes for a great second inexpensive gun.

I must say it has been amazing watching High Point videos after all the people I've heard ridicule these guns and then seeing so many people happy with them even those who have had to admit they are good it's amazing those same people were firing much more expensive guns and had good experience with the high point may not be everybody's favorite looking gun but you can get them looking good with the new grip options they have online they have a laser for it it's great for home defense break that f***** in and won't stop firing that's what I hear everybody saying so what is the problem with the high point besides the weight I might buy twin nines

A 9mm round is just effective as most rounds now with all the technology put into ammo.Heck the Feds use a 9mm 147gr round in their pistols.Reason being less recoil for more accurate and faster follow up shots.Which means less chance of hitting bystanders.

francisdebelo I'm thinking that the kind of people who buy a Hi Point generally don't have money for a Glock, if it was a choice between no gun and a Hi Point the I'd take the HP, but if there was any way to get something better then I would do that 100% of the time.

What is so ugly about it I love the weight and feel of it the solid weight a rhinoceros of a gun I absolutely love it bought a glock 26,Jen 5,and gave it to my wife keeping my beloved high point 9mm

  • @asphaltcowboy4351
    @asphaltcowboy4351 9 лет назад +2

One of my first guns was a Hi-Point, yes it's ugly yes it may have a jam here or there, I have Glocks that have jammed. But the first shot is guaranteed and that's all I need. I drive tractor trailers and this is my truck gun, if I'm at a truck stop and someone tries to break in my truck as I'm sleeping they will meet my ugly 9mm. If someone were to break into my truck and steal my hi-point I'm out of $160, report it stolen and buy another one. Great review

You lucked out with that gun running so good straight out of the box. Definitely bought 1 in 1000 pistol. You didn't need to polish the feed ramp or modify the magazine lips. Straight out the box that pistol seems to be running flawlessly. From the very first shot I took from my brand new C 9 it was giving me issues. Failure to feed and stove piping. It was nothing but a headache and couldn't trust my life on it. Got rid of the gun as soon as I could.

I bought the carbine a while back, it was fun to shoot when it worked and kind of accurate out to 50 yards. It's looks were ok, not great. Tear down takes a while, must use the tool. it felt cheap though. Just getting the bolt to go forward was a task at times, just like the slide on the pistol in this video. I would not trust my life to one of these firearms. To me they are more for plinking than anything else, but that's just my opinion. I sold the carbine to a friend, just because I didn't have a lot of faith in it as a defensive weapon.

Bought the same new from buds gun shop. The gun was used, stuck, couldnt use it,the magazine was scraped, bent. With all the b.s. in california on gun transfer,I just wanted it home, plus I know hi points have a great lifetime transferable warranty, plus I know enough to work on guns. So polished the feed ramp, greased it,rounded the fire pin housing and where the slide rides and it shoots very well,I greases sear parts and trigger got better. Its a nice gun for the money if you know a little about guns. Its a tough little dike. The only reason I bought from buds gun shop,is because I wanted to support them,as an out of state gun purchase is 40 dollars out of state more on the whole transfer, cost me 125 dollars total to get it transfered from Kentucky. Anyways, lost my faith in budsgun shop, wont be buying from them. And thatll be the end, because what happened after I posted what happened on my purchase review, got me multiple calls from them, they never did post the comment, but they read it and didnt like it.

I bought both the C9 and the CF380. Both work as well, as others, of their kind. Each one has It's quirks. Each needs some form of adjustments. Does that make one, better than another? Just ' What ', ... makes a gun " UGLY " ?Does a Louis Vitton 9MM kill better than a Ruger LCP? What is a 'Pretty' gun? Please explain? Pretty/Ugly is, what Pretty/Ugly does. It shoots with reliablity. It cleans easily. It can withstand weather, neglect, and time. So! What is the issue over Hi-Piont guns? A gun that is affordable. A, Henry Ford ... gun! That's the problem. " It's cheap! We can't see a use for that! It's shit, because I didn't pay an arm and a leg, for It! " " If It's GOOD! .... You need to pay BIG Bucks for It!! " " My Grandaddy never heard of 'em, so, It's crap." Beauty, ... is in the eye of the beholder! If It does what I bought it for, ... and I still have My left nut?!!?? That's good evough for Me! As for all of the others with a Historical chip up Their ASS? " Not My Circus! Not My monkey! " I just like HI-POINT. Well made, for an up-start company. Sorry for the near-sightness of everyone.

Good video I've had mine for about 2 years and actually carry mine. I went shooting with some friends last weekend and shot a lot of different guns but on a lot of them they have a really long trigger pull compared to the c9. The weight seems to help with the recoil. Eventually I want to get the Smith and Wesson sd9ve.

since the same mag can be used for both gun & rifle, check your manual if it mentions to not use the pro mag 5 round mag. i did a vid back in 2013 using the pro mag for my carbine & i got a ton of comments saying i had voided my warranty for using a different mag. so i'm curious if you hand gun manual mentions anything about this.

and I love 9mm for home defense. yes 40 and 45 are amazing powerful rounds but 9mm isn't too far off. I almost think people get caught up with the 4 in 40 and 45, and then think 9mm is soooo much smaller. I have all types from .380-.45 and go for the 9mm m9 when feeling threatened. Only happened once but my 9mm scared one big ass black dude that tried to invade my place. And im certain he would have been dropped with the slightly better accuracy the 9 has if he would have tried me.

I have been trying to get that point acrossed my folks, and so far only my sister and grandfather are on board. They both carry Ruger LC9's, and my grandfather uses a Smith and Wesson model 629 in .44 magnum for home defense, which he shoots like a pro.

***** NEVER, EVER fire a "warning shot"...Not only is it illegal to do so it also suggests that you had adequate time to escape and truly were not in fear for your life, and if that warning shot connects with an innocent bystander, or anything else for that matter, it's considered unlawful and criminal discharge o a firearm...you're all done...fact, not fiction. If you pull it then use it.

Razor Knight the LC9s is an amazing gun. (the s series fixed the bad trigger of the LC9). I ended up with a Beretta Nano now though and love it to death. the size makes it kick more causing it to be a bit harder to control but its super easy to conceal, not as easy as the lc9's though

***** do what you wish. blow his head off... but be ready to face out shitting gov't. just cause the person is in your house doesn't make it 100% that you wont be tried for some BS. he was so scared and drugged up I doubt he could have found my home again if he wanted to.

***** I'm using it for home defense and it did the job. I'm not one hoping for someone to come break in just so I can shoot them. Maybe it's because I've had to had to fire my weapon and kill in the past but we were forced to. You should have a good head on your shoulders if you own a gun.

Your mini-rant about the orange tape meesage isn't a bad digression since THAT tape reveals how stupid EVERY "politically correct" idiot really is!! THEY arrogantly think THEY are not stupid and while thinking everyone of us is stupid and NEEDS their impossing THEIR idea of "protection" on us. It's also an indication that the manufacturer wants to protect themselves against NEEDLESS LAWSUITS by those who ARE blithering idiots!

They are cheap, heavy, some say ugly. very effective. No thrills bang. Are there better guns our there sure. I always have one ready to go in the house. A 150.00 Hi-Point easier to replace than a 600 one.

ShooterSD72 It is a ugly pistol. The Slide needs to be that large to have the mass to function properly as it is a blow back design.

    • @yatyasusmc333
