Really well done with these POV shift videos. They are brilliant and such a useful resource for Knowledge students like me. So thank you and please keep them coming
Mate - great little find your channel. Don’t have much time for TV etc being on appearances, but watching these videos during down periods are a real treat. Cheers pal, all the best. 👍
Thank you Danny. It just shows how much time and effort you're putting into studying. The more you miss TV and that now, the sooner you'll have that badge around your neck. Good luck on your knowledge journey
@@ALondonCabbie the videos have improved a lot as well. Love how you talk about how to deal with customers and always be honest. Something you don’t get taught on the KoL.
@@NickHurst12 On my badge talk, we had Mr Harvey. He made sure no one left the room without understanding the way we should work. Thank you, I'm learning with every video.
Loving ya channel what a find! All my working life driving in London it sure doesn’t seem any easier! Good to see all my old rat runs although a lot have gone now! A very expensive city to live & work in! 😎👍🏻Great job!!
Nice vids mate. Enjoy watching these taxi vids although my profession has nothing to do with it lol (accountant). Just a bit of feedback, the quiet time of you driving once you’ve covered the route, try fill it with some words, either history or the place, any nice food places, nearby attractions etc.
Thanks for your kind comments. Hopefully my uploads since this one have improved. I’m certainly trying to add more info where I can (without repeating myself from previous videos)
You can drive through that error. ‘Range extender not available’ is nonsense. Just keep driving and press the middle button on right of steering wheel to clear error
Great work! Really enjoy the video. I am on the knowledge as well. Would you be able to do a video on typical earnings for a day? Would be grateful. Thanks
Thank you Tony. Good luck on your knowledge journey. I have been asked a few times and I don’t mind sharing the odd fare but I can’t share a full days earnings. You’ll see for yourself soon enough when you get your badge 👍
This happened to me Ollie on my 23 plate took it to E1 and they said there was an in balance in the battery which they sorted for me. Great videos by the way keep it up 👍🚕😀
i was driving in Holloway one evening when 3 rough looking men hailed me but i went straight by unfortunately the traffic lights ahead of me turned red and they came running up to me so i picked them up they were as good as gold no problems
Thank you. For this one I didn’t but for longer jobs, especially later at night I tend to ask for it up front. Always asking for a bit less than the meter so customer fees like they’ve had a good deal too
Great video, LEVC must be having a laugh with driver's having to reset these motors with the costs involved buying them Do they inform you of these glitches or do you have to find out through experience? All the best
You definitely find out yourself the hard way. Like most things these days, great taxi but probably far too much technology (for emissions) to go wrong
Did you have to take the cab back to the garage to fix this issue or is it an ongoing problem that you just have to work around, it seems crazy that the manufacturer produces cabs knowing that they are not the finished article
Great video as always! I have a question. Whats the deal with black cab etiquette with taking app jobs at LHR. Shouldn’t you direct them to the nearest rank?
Thank you. If you accept the job you can pick up your customer (although shouldn’t be picking up app customers off Taxi Ranks (LHR being short stay car park). Regarding LHR all customers have the option to go to the rank, Taxi ranks are signposted throughout each terminal. The majority of app jobs are corporate accounts. Those that are not, tend to prefer using an app. I guess the same way some people go into McDonald’s or Wetherspoons and use the app to order and pay for their food/drinks instead of going to the counter.
Did you get the 'range extender not available' message? Ascotts told me it's quite common. They did an update to my cab which they said might sort it. 🤞
That is exactly what happened. 0miles electric and can’t use petrol. Once stopped and turned off, it wouldn’t even switch on. Sensor replaced by E1 and been fine since 🤞
@@russldntaxi did you watch the end of the video, he stopped on a slip road of the A13 and couldn't carry on without a reset. I crawled to a halt on an unlit part of the A12 without a proper hard shoulder so if you've got no electricity left you can't just ignore the message.
Thanks for your question Dave and for watching the video, it’s really appreciated. The app job I took was a “corporate” job. This job would have pinged to every drivers phone (on the rank and nearby). Upon accepting the job I was already quite “late” for the pick up. This would suggest drivers had rejected or even accepted and then cancelled, the job before it had come through to me. Heathrow currently operate a one in, one out policy, regarding tags to work the rank (Tom the Taxi Driver explained it in his Heathrow video). Plenty of drivers have left the trade but not returned their tags, so myself along with hundreds of other drivers are stuck on a waiting list that doesn’t appear to move. Dropping Heathrow then coming back empty has meant in the past I’ve spent 2 hours of working time empty (traffic on the M4). Thanks again for your support in watching the videos.
@@ALondonCabbie great videos and they are getting better. I was bus driver, same as you I believe, until 2007 when I got my badge. How long you been waiting for tag? Do you know up to what number are? I been waiting exactly a year now.

Can you put the key in one of those signal blocking boxes(faraway box, I think) that are available to avoid having to get out of the cab.
For some clarification the blocking boxes are known as faraday cages, can't tell you how useful they can be in my line of work (digital forensics).
I have heard that may work. As the cab doesn’t have keyless entry, just keyless start I don’t have one but it’s something I’ll look into
Interesting, how well promoted some of them are
Did you have to knock something off the meter for the Southend job?
I didn’t have to but it’s always the correct thing to do 👍
Was that a fixed fair to Southend or did you meter it.
It was on the meter. I very rarely do fixed price jobs
What was up with the cab did you sort it out next day??
Next day happened again while on another decent job. Went into E1 and they replaced a sensor. Been fine ever since 🤞
i actually live in southend wat was the fare to there just out of curiosity
I think it worked out around £20 per person. Cheaper than the train and cab at the other end. That was their words, not mine 👍

any chance of a run down on the fairs
