550 RPM is fantastic for an automatic rifle, just the sound of a B.A.R. opening up was enough to make most outnumbered enemies throw up their arms and surrender, it was often used as a demotivater, they'd fire 3 or 4 round in the air and most times an out gunned and out numbered enemy would hear that distict "chugging" sound, and know theres no point to keep resisting.
I love this video. I hear guys whining all the time about how badly the FAL, CETME, HK91 and other 7.62X51mm rifles kick so hard and how they are uncontrollable in F.A. Now, here we have a young woman of the imposing weight of about 115 pounds from the look of her, firing a Browning M1918 BAR F.A . in 7.62X63mm (30-06) far more powerful than a .308, and you don't see her whining about recoil.
The B.A.R. saved my grandpa's life back in Keora. They were sweeping out the trenches and a guy was hideing on a corner and tryed to stab him, so my grandpa shot him right in the face. Browning FTW. But never forget, their is no glory in death.
I have three daughters who hunt deer with an 06. One is a reworked 98 Mauser, a Winchester 70 and a Remington 700. They weigh about 110 to 125 pounds and they don't whine about them. My youngest competes in long range rifle, firing a custom built .408 Cheytac bolt action. Not all women are gun sensitive.Some have been taught to shot from an early age, just like their brothers.Perhaps, if you took the time to work girls up to heavier calibers, they wouldn't hate guns so much. Or buy into the hype
sir the fal, cetme an hk weigh about 8.5 pounds. the bar weighs 18 pounds. the bar has far less recoil than the m-1 garand, also 30-06. give that little lady a remington pump gamemaster, she won't talk to you for a week after one shot.
I'd like to see her on a '60-"pig", with at least 50-rounds---she'd probably end-up about three-feet back from where she started, lol! But seriously, for no bigger than she is, she's got GREAT-control of this old-BAR. And that's the secret---don't fight it, just learn to "ride" with the recoil. At least she ain't like some gals---and a few guys!---who try to hold it like it's a TURD, or somethin', like they're afraid it'll hurt 'em....!

Bonnie and Cylde used modified BARS when they were robbing banks.
Bonnie was even shown posting with her's and that gun was as tall as she was.
It's in Slow Auto mode which was around 350 rounds per minute. Fast Auto is around 550 to 600
The B.A.R is kind of heavy but it is very handy when it comes to power and pining down the enemy

Some Versions of the B.A.R. had two different rates of fire. Slow rate 350-450 & Fast rate 550-650
