I’m a little late to the comments lol but as an Alumni of the Silver Eagles I can tell you all this. We broke a lot of rifles (more than I would like to remember lol) no the rifles don’t weigh 2 pounds, they’re m1903 replicas made by daisy. We have actually broke the fiberglass stocks and shattered the receivers. We would practice for hours and hours until we got it right, and then one more time after that just because. If you didn’t go home after practice bruised or tired, you didn’t practice hard enough. We were definitely an outstanding team and i see that they still are. Very proud of these boys and what they do! Good job boys! EOA
@@LouieNeirangl they dont do that much hard stuff, its very boring to watch. This drill requires a LOT of precision and effort. Whereas marine silent drill team is silent and less flamboyant but still Impressive
Depends on the stock. Fiberglass made up the bulk of our battalions 200 rifles. We had wooden 1903 Springfields with lead filled barrels for drill meets or ceremonies. Cracked a few in my days. The triple flip catching behind my back while dropping to a knee took some practice. Did they impose rules for the competition? We use to toss that rifle backwards from the head of the line to the back. If you missed someone was bleeding usually.
I saw these guys but the 2019 team, so much intensity and sharpness, I now graduated and hope my team makes it to the masters level instead of the challenge level.

sorry m8 Drill rifles do not weigh 12-13 lbs. Both Daisy and DrillAmerica (Glendale) weigh 8.6 lbs. Fully demilitarized weapons weigh a little closer to 9 lbs.
@@americandrillreport oh shoot, sorry dude you are right, they added weight to the ones we practice with in order to add a little more difficulty, help with discipline, and speed up muscle memory. As an ex John Jay Alum 2008. EOA means Eagles for Life@@nc9869

Oh god, i was in a Drill Comp in my 4th year of AFJROTC and during the competition i had the most anxiety ive ever had in my life.......we won 3rd...
I wonder how often they have to replace those rifle butts...
Sorry m8 they might be metal instead of rubber so they dont have to, thats what my school does

Very well done, incredibly executed, very sharp, but 5 bucks says those rifles wieghed in around 2 lbs.
Maybe, they look an awful like the ones we use tho, ours are roughly 12-13 pounds.
P Minerv Thes rifles are full Daisy Replica Drill Rifles, which weigh the full 8.6 lbs. Nationals regulation for full weight rifles is 8-9 lbs.
