Thanks a lot for doing this with such an open mind. It was my request, and I know other fans won't like that I picked a studio recording for your first reaction because we're all really proud of the fact that they sound sooo well live. But I really like this video in particular because it showcases their sense of humour and it also explains why they released this cover as a single. I'm so happy you liked it. Get ready because the next one is a live performance. Also, Louis is the one talking at 1:23 and singing at 3:28
They all have successful solo careers...which is a testament to their talent as this is rare that every single member is able to do that once leaving the band. They all write their own music as well. Both Louis and Niall have gravitated toward a more pop rock / rock sound. Zayn is R&B and Liam more pop /hip hop. I think you would be surprised by some of 1D's other music as many have suggested, as they went toward a more rock sound as they grew and got older as well. Glad you are giving them a chance! 🙂
Some have found more commercial success than others while it took a little longer for some (Liam and Louis) to find their niche or the kind of artist they wanted to be. They are still successful in that they are making music and doing what they love. Louis, for example, did a livestream benefit concert last year and was the highest selling livestream event for a male artist. Of course, Harry, Niall and Zayn have found great commercial success.
Even Louis, the commercially least successfull, managed to sell most tickets for a male solo artist online concert in 2020. So he certainly has a massive fan base! I'd call that successful.
Yeah the boys are very active when it comes to doing stuff for charity which is one of the reasons we hold so much respect for them I think....Louis is the one who starts the video off
It's true they sounded more rock-ish towards the end but still pop-rock. In the beginning it was pure "bubble gum" pop. But it's in the live performances especially the rock comes more alive as those songs were made for huge arenas and always performing with a live band, the classic rock band set really, that's why IMO it sound's more rock-ish. Songs that are more rock would be songs like Rock me, Midnight Memories, Little black dress, Diana, Alive and Little White lies for example. Do check out any or why not all songs from the San Siro concert. It's the concert they filmed for their concert DVD (2014) and the whole concert is up on youtube (re-uploaded 6-8 months ago) with a time stamp in the comments. They obviously sang their most popular songs on tour but it was mainly songs from their 3rd album on that tour (Where We Are Tour). That concert is a perfect example of their more rockish style live. And of course if you watch the proffesionally filmed footage the sound and picture is great. Another rockier song I recommend is Where do broken hearts go. There's a performance of that song they did on X Factor with Ronnie Woods guest starring on guitar. You can find that clip on Vimeo. It's awesome! And yeah, Louis music taste runs toward the more rockish. His voice is very much suited for pop/punk/rock. Louis is the one that is least known to the general public but he is very much loved by fans. Think a lot of his fans, me included, would be really happy if you would consider reacting to some of his songs. Most are very heartfelt, very real and honest. My fav songs of his are Walls (his album got named after this song) and Two of us, which is a very emotional song about the loss of his mother. One of his main inspirations is OASIS and other similar bands from the 90's and there are a couple of songs on his album where that is very noticable. His album is a transitional album though so I wouldn't say it's very rocky, there's actually only one song for that: Kill my mind. And that's the sound he wants more of for the next album. His album sound is guitar driven and I'd say almost acoustic sounding. But it works really well live and same as with 1D the live band makes the songs sound more rock-ish. He did a live stream concert in Dec. last year where the band really gets to shine as well. He also did 1D's song Drag me down, Through the dark and Little black dress. Highly recomend it from that live stream. As it's with no audience you can actually hear Louis sing. It's very hard to hear in other fan filmed videos from his concerts as the crowd is singing so loud. If you wanna hear his most sucesful songs it's his earlier songs, both collaborations, Just Hold On with Steve Aoki, an EMD song so a very different sound. And Back To You with Bebe Rexah, a clear pop song. Louis decided that wasn't the type of music he wanted to do so he went his own path even if it meant him not getting on the hit lists.
All of them have a very succesful career one way or another:-)...Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malick, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson as well. It ´s very interesting how their styles are so different even they were so great together as a groupe. Most similar rocky style with Harry has a Niall Horan. I reccomend any live performance, he is just addictive. Louis is the one with a beanie on, he wrote most of the One Directin songs with Liam Payne. Their last two albums as 1D were great. We are very proud of them, this is not typical boyband group at all. Thanky you!
1:23 / 3:28 that’s Louis! And yeah you should definitely check out his music :D I recommend Kill My Mind (Indie rock/britpop), Walls and Two of Us (sad one, be warned, it’s about his mom who passed away) Also, if you’re interested in watching a live performance, there’s this song called “Copy of a Copy of a Copy” which he performed once live but hasn’t released a studio version for it yet. He performed it during a livestream back in December 2020 so the quality and everything is clear and perfect. Great lyrics as well, always be ready for that with Louis. That man writes from the soul and delivers straight to yours. He’s also got quite an emotive voice, so you always feel what he’s singing and talking about.
Louis is definitely worth a listen. He has an Brit/ indie/ rock vibe to his music. He’s my favourite, I love all his music but you may like listening to kill my mind first. Thanks.
What about live ‘teenage dirtbag’ cover. I think you’ll like it. They all went solo and all doing very well. I think you will like Niall’s music and Louis’ music too. I think Blondie was the original singer of One way or another.
Great video! This is still from their early ish stage so my recommendation are Midnight memories, Clouds, Stockholm syndrome, and little black dress, those songs are all a lot more mature and rocky just keep an open mind:) have a nice day ps: please react to midnight memories it has a music video as well
Even my dad, a total metal head, admitted that Little Black Dress is kinda cool and sounds a bit vintage :) And he liked Harry's music which I swear I didn't suggest to him at all, he just came across it himself! :)
You should react to miss you, kill my mind, and copy of a copy by Louis Tomlinson if you’re looking for a more rocky sound. Also his songs walls is very oasis esk which I love
Pleaseee reactt too one direction: drag me down, infinity, if i could fly, clouds, fireproof, midnight memories. You should also react to nialls solo music. Love your reactions❤️❤️
Saw name of group and wasn't sure, but to support you i had to click, like, comment. So here i am BUT all i can say is nice to use fame to help a cause. As far as the song, group etc 🤐...

Define successful cuz I don't think it applies to all the members

Never in a million years, would I have ever thought to listen to a Blondie cover, done by a teenage boy band. LOL
I mean they were a big band so it would kinda make sense to do a blondie cover also bc they did a teenage dirtbag cover as well
They did this only for that kids, not for people with closed mind
What about live ‘teenage dirtbag’ cover. I think you’ll like it.

Louis is the first one who starts talking in the car in the beginning at 1:23

Louis is the one that starts singing at around 3:28, with the denim jacket in that first scene with him singing. Hope that helps! Haha
