I first saw In Flames by accident when they were on their 2002 tour with Children of Bodom and Iced Earth. I was a huge Iced Earth fan at the time and wasn't familiar with the openers. Boy I tell you the moment they started playing Bullet Ride the crowd exploded and I was INSTANTLY hooked. Like many folks here, I was quite disappointed with the band's direction. I was able to make it up to A Sense of Purpose, but even that was getting a little tough.
These two newest releases feel like such a throw back to me that nostalgia hits in all the right ways. Brings me right back to being 17 instead of 37 for just a few good minutes. Here's hoping this new album explodes like this track!
I saw them twice on the Clayman tour in 2000. Once with Shadows Fall and Nevermore in a packed, super small club that held like 200 people max. It was awesome seeing them in such a small venue. My intro to them was Whoracle in 1997 or early 1998. The minute I heard that album they became my favorite band. I waited for the next 2 years for them to hit the US with shows and saw every one in my area from 2000 to 2005. Those were the days. Glad to see they are back to the old style. The jump up and down nu metal ish stuff is not for me.

I saw In Flames live for the first time in my life 10 december in Copenhagen then 17 december in Gothenborg this year, it was 2 days of my life that.

I love how this band has evolved over time. I don't care about anybody's opinion, I love every single one of their songs. In Flames will always and forever be my favorite band.
Hell yeah! My favorite to next to fear factory n killswitch engage. I don’t understand all these so called in flames fans who only like 2 albums from their begging n was still evolving. Battles is by far my favorite album, then RTR, then probably STYE, but love Clayman, I, the mask, come clarity, ASOP, and SOAPF. Every album is bout perfect. In flames we trust!

I honestly believed I’d never enjoy another In Flames release. I was cool just going back to Colony/Whoracle/The Jester Race/Clayman/etc for my In Flames fix.

And the jester race comes back!!!!!!!! Kicks in the door with a stout riff, drop off, and punch right in with the groove. Textbook, and the melodic riff, leading to the hardcore pre-chorus and straight beat down after that. Counterpoint works very well for the flames when you do those breakneck switches on the feel. This song is a gut punch, in all the right ways
