Love your reviews so much. Sometimes I just watch them - even though I'm not interested in the game - just for a laugh! Your story of being blagged by your mate and getting on that coaster... fkn funny! Keep up the good work!!
Hi Mack, just wanted to say that RUclips did a huge favor to me by recommending one of your videos. I've sub'd and watched almost all of your videos since then. Funny as hell commentary, brilliant and sharp eyed analysis and above all, true honest reviews. Love your channel. Its a gem. Looking forward to seeing you for years and years to come. Cheers!
Proper RCT is a great game. It's a simplified version of what it must be like to run one of these places - it's not a walk in the park ... but it's not horrendously difficult either. As long as you keep pumping out new rides, and getting your prices right - and then make sure you're not understaffed for cleaning and fixing stuff and throwing out vandals ... then you'll usually win. Why couldn't they do the same with this game? RCT only had one difficulty level ... which I would term "medium". And it spawned a series that is over 15 years old now with the arrival of this game - so it can't have been doing much wrong ...
Mack has hit the nail on head. the game looks awesome and I will definitely be getting it, but we all need a challange and I totally agree with Mack. remember theme hospital when there was sick on the floors etc and people flying out of rollercoasters. I love games that have great realism to and Mack is 100% on the money here.
One of the coolest things that Mack didn't mention is the level of customization. It's like Minecraft ... you can build almost anything. The ingame building tools are incredibly flexible which you can then share with the rest of steam. Honestly, I signed up for the game management challenge (which is definitely weak), but I'm staying for the building. Cheers!
mannnnnnnn theme hospital - shooting the rats amongst the receptionist statements reminding patients to groan quietly and for staff members to rest frequently. i miss that game.
That game would be an 18 certificate today. "Far too difficult for precious under 18s" Or they would dumb it down so you could follow a QTE sequence of 3 key presses to cure every patient. Some bullshit like that. BUT - you would have great new ways to customise the look of your hospital!! [even including making all of the rats different colours - or doctors wearing halloween costumes!]
One of the best games to come out in recent times. The level detail is amazing and so much love and attention as been put into this. Loved your comment about The Grand National, one of the best wooden rollercoasters going. Try riding it in the rain! You can't see a damn thing.
Pretty much agree with Mack towards the end, the sandbox games just lack the experiences, they just sorta give you stuff to play with but not much is happening.
True fact about the national in blackpool when it was first opened it would not stop and the people just kept going round for ages until they figured out how to stop it my dad was in the queue watching it go round and round lol
Sim Theme Park was challenging and was definitely marketed toward kids. Devs have just lost sight of what makes a good game in pursuit of low-hanging fruit.
My father pulled the same trick on me when we came down to Blackpool for a holiday. "It's an old slow ride Lee, look it's even made out of wood" And fuck me does the complete lack of safety on it increase the scare factor as your arse raises out of the seat on the dips :D
To be honest the main reason to buy Planet Coaster is just to design things because this game gives you endless possibilities when it comes to what you can build. I think it's worth more than the asking price for that reason alone.
they should add a mechanic that teen groups spent more money blindly, but thrash more stuff and so you need park security. to make it more realistic and harder maybe.
I understand Mack. Remember "Dinky Park" or "Micro Park" from the early RCT games? This ain't got it. No park limits like that... I can remember building a park on basically a 13x13 grid where you'd raise 1 square for some 2nd, 3rd, 4th story height rides and you'd wind up with a tower-shaped park of many, many rides including some short coasters inside that small grid. Claustrophobic and insanely challenging and rewarding when you pop tons of profit out. Mack check RCT1 out again, it'd be worth it. Pay the tribute to it, you'll love it.
Hey Mac, Do you read a script when making your reviews or do you just say what is on your mind? I ask because it never sounds like you are reading a script.
Absolutely agree - I'm in it for the challenge of running the place - not building a perfect sandbox. My kick will come, when I fail terrible at keeping control of the place. Let's hope for a real challenge in the future...
Anyone not from the UK. Blackpool is Syria. Thorpe Park is probably the best UK theme park, I live near alton towers, and it is average and 55 quid to get in hahahahahahahhahah
Anyone not from the UK probably doesn't know what 3 ayrtons are. It's cockney rhyming slang. 3 aytons = 3 ayton sennas = 3 tenners = 30 quid. Happy to help ;)
None of these games today beat bullfrog`s theme park the challenge in that game was absolutely insane. You had to manage the size of the busses that dropped off your customers to your theme park all the way down to having to keep the stock of the different shops all topped up. That game you could lose you needed to keep in the black or basically you would end up bankrupt. If they ever invent a time machine the 90`s is where im going back to.
tbh i never really played any of the tycoon games for a deep challenge, i liked them more for the creativity and relaxing element. But yeh I agree they should add an extra mode named "Reality" where fights break out, people shit on benches and people die on rollercoasters from heart attacks.
I am really enjoying the game... for me every game need not be challenging , tough. sometimes its just great to unwind, relax after a day of work and have a fun time building beautiful theme parks :)
Excellent vid Mack as always, :) I guess they could mod the difficulty and add the chav authenticity but it's a shame it's not in Vanilla, otherwise I think it would be an immediate purchase for me, as I've not played a theme park game since, Theme Park.
I waited it out! Just got it for $15.00! There's absolutely nothing out right now that I'm interested in, nothing for months, so hell, why not? It's been ages since I played RCT and I remember how much that I loved it.
The game looks like what SimCity 2013 should have been. The game looks like it's more geared toward relaxing gameplay more than challenge. Everything seems so well simulated, but I do agree that, if bad events are not in the game, the game should have them, things such as injuries, vomiting, fights and the like. It is nice to have the relaxing experience, but there should be the option to work toward having a very good park where bad events are minimized.
Grand National is still at the Pleasure Beach, went on it few weeks back - sounds/looks exactly the same. Perhaps its been made a bit safer, but its still a bone-shaker :)) Great review, ta.
Agree with you about the lack of challenge. Seems like it's longevity is lacking. Once you've plonked some rides down and bribed your staff not to leave, it's just a case of fast forwarding till you get the visitor count. Great review as always mukka!
what about the cat and mouse ride at Blackpool, it actually comes off the rails and goes on 2 wheels when it goes around corners, and your 50ft up in the air!!
The grand nationals is so terrifying it does go fast and it doesn’t have belts or harnesses just a handle to hold and it goes up high, I still can’t understand how it’s a rollercoaster. It is fun though.
I don't know what Roller Coaster Tycoon you were playing, but the one I've played since I was a kid was one where you built a couple of rides, then wait an hour, then you win. Also, what the heck goes on at UK amusement parks? The way you describe it, they sound like going to one would be a threat to your life.
Blackpool Pleasure Beach is the best amusement park in the UK! It's the whole reason we have RollerCoasterTycoon at all. (The rides included, some of which were one-of-a-kinds from Blackpool prove it) Blackpool is a very old-fashioned park - with terrifying, rickety wooden rides like Grand National and Big Dipper. But ... Alton Towers, with its more modern rides - has been responsible for 2 leg amputations in the past year or so. Whereas - the only death at Blackpool in 100 years was when a scared kid escaped his harness on a dark ride ("Space Invader") and got hit in the head by a support strut. As a mark of silent respect - in such a small park - that ride's space has remained unchanged for well over 20 years. The "Space Invader" remains standing but not operating. Blackpool's rides are rough! Even the horses! But going on those rides feels like a genuine thrill - not a manufactured fake one. And so what if you come away with a few bruises? Rugby/football is rough and tumble fun as well, yes?
I need to know just one thing: can i pick up annoying guests and put them on an island? You know the type, "Coaster 1 looks to hefty for me", "I got to pee". Maybe one more thing, can I put one way signs in front of the exit and trap my visitors?
The way i look at this game is that its totally worth it if you want to meticulously design every little detail in the sandbox mode, its totally worth it. But i totally agree that it needs to be more challenging
Nice review, but could you review Transport Feaver and compare it with Open Transport Tycoon and sneak the Open Transport Tycoon review in. Would be great:D
My fave ride at Blackpool was Steeplechase. It wasn't the fastest but you were sat on an actual horse (made of metal) and just had a handle to hold onto. It felt like you could fall off on the corners.
Many a happy day spent and Blackpool Pleasure Beach. The legitimate risk that some of the rides might actually kill you was all part of the charm. Then a walk down pier, a greasy chippy and bit of Ripley's Believe it or Not. Good times.
The the strip club on the Golden mile and over the road to the pier nightclub, get tapped up, gang fight on your way back to your B&B ahh happy days ;)
That's no excuse. Back in my day, we had a thing called "skill level" - where you would be given the option of playing on "Easy", "Medium", "Hard" or "Impossible". It probably means changing the parameters on one file - make it so the customers are not as rich and more choosy about what they'll spend their money on. And yes - bring back vomit and vandalism! .. which, if not addressed, makes the other customers pissed off and want to go home. And bring back customers not trusting your park if you have a terrifying accident. That makes you want to invest in ride maintenance.
I've just discovered this Channel and I love the reviews. Mack is hilarious! I've watched about 6 reviews so far and I've yet to figure out what the Ding! is for.
Really, i don't think planet coaster was designed to be much of a challenge, I don't think that was the focus. I think the focus was put on the design and the flexibility in which you could design your park.
Mack ? Mack is that you? Mack from Mackscorner MWO ??? I rlly enjoyed your videos and your accent. funny i stumbled over this review and found ya again! keep it up. =)
Your stories were funny. Alton Towers was a nice, well behaved park. I went on one ride 11 times and missed the train to the hotel because I stayed so late, from opening to closing time.
I really appreciate your review, but let me play devil's advocate for a moment... There are those of us whose daily lives are challenging enough to give a freaking Tylenol a headache because we spend our lives in a job that is so tedious that it would turn melanin white, so when we come home to play a game - it is so that we can untie our brains from the granny knot left by the corporate world... Sometimes, having a game that is not a challenge, and one that we can just sit down and create with NO STRESS, and really have a good time doing it, is just the sort of opium we need. It's either that or Bayou Silver and Simply Limeade, which works good too.
Great review; that said, I can totally relate with the Great National experience :D Exactly my thoughts were running through my head when I got on that coaster. ^^;
If you really want reality and a challenge, you turn of charges for coasters, because that's more often than not reality. But last time I tried that, that was impossible. That was in Beta.
Yeah, all you do is click the link in my vid then if u buy something I get a commission. The discount is now all built into the site, u still get discount.
Worth A Buy Weird, I tried to buy Transport Fever through your link, but the price is exactly the same as in Steam. Maybe the discount only work for same games, so no worries. Keep up the good work!
This game is just 50% of what i expected. graphics AAA (this is just a masterpiece if u have a good pc). Mechanics and content not satisfying at the moment. Missing tons of things, like transfer tracks, switches, hotels and resorts, parking lot, elevators & escalators, bits and pieces, scenerie parts, much more shops and stalls, flat rides like ghost houses etc. etc. i could go on for hours.... and no waterfalls!!!! If there won´t be massive updates in the future i´ll go back to RCT3 or Nolimits2.
I think you hit the nail on the head. I watched a live stream and I had 3 questions: Customization/atmosphere, management/logistical depth and finally AI. It looked like it was pretty solid on the first two, but then the player built a complete shit water ride and checked the visitor reviews, and they were ecstatic. That's when I knew. It doesn't really differentiate because it doesn't have to and that's a huge bummer. Because it turns the entire venture into a dead thing. If the visitors doesn't feel like an actual crowd, the whole game play aspect disappears. So once again, the game designers shy away from the tricky bit, the bit that makes the game an actual game instead of a toy.
I agree 100% with the lack of mayhem and regurgitation. Kerbal Space Program, another really successful sandbox game, got this right with explosions and clunky rocket parts.
Mack not every theme park is like the hoppins, it doesnt need to be full of stabby chavs lol
H4WK69 I love your guys slang even though I have no real clue in what most of it means. it still sounds eloquent somehow.
need VR support for coaster rides
double the vomit experience, but worth it lol
it will come soon
With a fan in front of your face with it's speed tied to the ingame coaster speed.
They have them in London
This video was almost too English for me to keep up with. lol
I think WAB is my favorite reviewer :)
Love your reviews so much. Sometimes I just watch them - even though I'm not interested in the game - just for a laugh! Your story of being blagged by your mate and getting on that coaster... fkn funny! Keep up the good work!!
Ahhahahahha perfect descriptions of an english fun fair!
Yup :)
Ah Mac Fights in the fun house - just as classic as ganging up on people in the dodgems!
Yea

"Bring the Thargoids back into Elite f*ck sake man!" lol Mack xD
Looking forward to more Elite, forgot to mention Mack :)
Can't wait to see you ranting about Roller Coaster tycoon World
We need a new jurassic park genesis
ArmorDonio agreed!
I miss that game.
Its facebook page is pretty active. And it seems that they are pretty close to releasing the game.
I used to love that game years ago. Had it on the ps2.
ArmorDonio looks like you're getting one by Frontier themselves. Jurassic World Evolution
david...david....DAVID!!! DINGDINGDING DAVID YOU *@€%&§"$*'S"$
and bring the Thargons BACK!
david. lets be friend, david. ok, david? give me copy, david, and lets be friends. david?
My favorite ride at Blackpool was Magic Mouse that ride was so vicious it could break a guy's back.
"We want the people dressed up as teddy bears to get punched in the face by a chav!" Blackpool sounds like fun? 😟
Now review RCT and see the difference 😂
Koolaid Chillers o God do you want to kill him
nick de jong gotta put that bell to work lol
the bell would break lol

that sounds awesome. we need to start a revolution!!!!
We need a Hoppings simulator. Now that would be truly special.
We have one, it's called Paint the town red ;)
Of course it's worth a buy!
The game just stomped all the other theme park simulations into the ground!
Planet Coaster>>>>>>RCTW
#ChiefBeefBelief
still less content then RCT 3 ^^
Yes but due to combinations of items i guess in general there is more content possible.
TheCoasterRidesBehindTheScenes
i don't mean in scenery i mean more like coaster wagons, overall number of coasters, attractions pools!? zoo? and shops
ya rct3 is better
parkitect > all
One of the best games to come out in recent times. The level detail is amazing and so much love and attention as been put into this.
Loved your comment about The Grand National, one of the best wooden rollercoasters going. Try riding it in the rain! You can't see a damn thing.
Yeah the detail is amazing on this game.
the grand national was such a amazing ride and the big dipper was amazing too
you get a like just for the yorkshire tea joke xD
Pretty much agree with Mack towards the end, the sandbox games just lack the experiences, they just sorta give you stuff to play with but not much is happening.

Videos like this are why I subbed Mack
are you going to do an early impressions on steep?
Hopefully
Worth A Buy will you be reviewing Watch Dogs 2? I preordered it and am sort of regretting it due to the failure of Watch Dogs
It's all off the top of my head, no notes at all, just pure passion :)
Nah he never reads scripts, he mentioned in some older videos. :)
Is it easy?
Absolutely agree - I'm in it for the challenge of running the place - not building a perfect sandbox.
My kick will come, when I fail terrible at keeping control of the place.
Let's hope for a real challenge in the future...
When something is as easy as Old Meg, THAT'S pretty easy.
Anyone not from the UK. Blackpool is Syria. Thorpe Park is probably the best UK theme park, I live near alton towers, and it is average and 55 quid to get in hahahahahahahhahah
News today, one of the dancers from Strictly come dancing was attacked in Blackpool last night and lost a load of teeth :S
Worth A Buy its only strictly, so not real news or a real issue, can't beat going on rides and second hand smoking weed!
***** strictly come dancing, it is some God awful UK TV show, one of the dancers got beaten up by kids and lost his teeth in Blackpool
bolloksitsmeee ermmm... Alton towers is 40 quid to get in
blackpool is my home park and yoh should really say that when we are getting a 16 million pound double launch coaster that will be insane!
May I ask what Microphone you use? Black Friday coming up! Also loving the frequent content lately- ty!
Audiotechnica 2020
The most important thing is map size. Can i build a huge theme park??? Also does it support mods?
I (literally -non native English speaker) don't understand the Blackpool story... Will watch again... Will learn a lot...
tbh i never really played any of the tycoon games for a deep challenge, i liked them more for the creativity and relaxing element. But yeh I agree they should add an extra mode named "Reality" where fights break out, people shit on benches and people die on rollercoasters from heart attacks.

Excellent vid Mack as always, :)
I guess they could mod the difficulty and add the chav authenticity but it's a shame it's not in Vanilla, otherwise I think it would be an immediate purchase for me, as I've not played a theme park game since, Theme Park.
I waited it out! Just got it for $15.00!
There's absolutely nothing out right now that I'm interested in, nothing for months, so hell, why not? It's been ages since I played RCT and I remember how much that I loved it.
Awww, they don't vomit anymore :((((
The game looks like what SimCity 2013 should have been.
Perhaps its been made a bit safer, but its still a bone-shaker :))
Great review, ta.
if they add VR support for this, that would be cool
Agree with you about the lack of challenge. Seems like it's longevity is lacking. Once you've plonked some rides down and bribed your staff not to leave, it's just a case of fast forwarding till you get the visitor count. Great review as always mukka!
good lord, your review made me nostalgic. As an expat, i had memories of alton towers and b'pool pleasure beach flashback. Keep up the good work :)
Good choice on the Yorkshire Tea Mack, just took a sip when you mentioned it. It truly is the water of life.
Decaf I hope ;)
Heresy!
you asked for them to make it difficult.. they delivered
Remember Thrillville off the Rails?
That was fun as hell
I remember when you guys used to get 5k views per video, happy it's all kickin' up! I love the videos, keep it up!
+1 on the Grand National! Blackpool Pleasure Beach is generally shit scary, mostly because it's in Blackpool! The old rides are fcking terrifying!!
it seems this game is for those who want a ridiculous amount of creative control to build endless parks, so I guess not what your looking for
I could just listen to your life stories all night my friend.
what about the cat and mouse ride at Blackpool, it actually comes off the rails and goes on 2 wheels when it goes around corners, and your 50ft up in the air!!
Yeah the mad mouse it used to be called, great fun.
The grand national is a beautiful ride, fucking health and safety ruins everything
Grand national almost broke my neck last year. my mate lost his phone on it XD
i get it once the harambe dlc comes out
I was an evil kid, at the age of 4 I played roller coaster tycoon 2 and made coasters that killed people.
I subbed as soon as you mentioned Yorkshire tea.
Whitee roseee!
The grand nationals is so terrifying it does go fast and it doesn’t have belts or harnesses just a handle to hold and it goes up high, I still can’t understand how it’s a rollercoaster. It is fun though.

Nicolas De Raedt 1st question yes, second question no
You should make a replica of "The Roller Coaster". Make it real dangerous
The way i look at this game is that its totally worth it if you want to meticulously design every little detail in the sandbox mode, its totally worth it.
But i totally agree that it needs to be more challenging
The cartoonish style is not my cup'a'Earl Grey. Great review Mack!
Nice review, but could you review Transport Feaver and compare it with Open Transport Tycoon and sneak the Open Transport Tycoon review in. Would be great:D
Mack, do you think you could do a WAB for Rodina. I would very much appreciate your opinion on it.
My fave ride at Blackpool was Steeplechase. It wasn't the fastest but you were sat on an actual horse (made of metal) and just had a handle to hold onto. It felt like you could fall off on the corners.
Yeah that was fun
Is this game only available from steam , (All over the world) ? (Link ?)
Not possible buying in a store ?
Many a happy day spent and Blackpool Pleasure Beach. The legitimate risk that some of the rides might actually kill you was all part of the charm. Then a walk down pier, a greasy chippy and bit of Ripley's Believe it or Not. Good times.
The the strip club on the Golden mile and over the road to the pier nightclub, get tapped up, gang fight on your way back to your B&B ahh happy days ;)
another game with no test typical. so babies can complete it
Major Horn this is a creative game the big focus is on sandbox it's a shame he did not show the build and terrain system
its for more creating what ever u want kinda game. the parks that people have made in this game is amazing
Mikee Remastered good point.
funny it dos but he did not show that part of the game
That's no excuse.
Back in my day, we had a thing called "skill level" - where you would be given the option of playing on "Easy", "Medium", "Hard" or "Impossible".
It probably means changing the parameters on one file - make it so the customers are not as rich and more choosy about what they'll spend their money on.

Mack ? Mack is that you? Mack from Mackscorner MWO ??? I rlly enjoyed your videos and your accent. funny i stumbled over this review and found ya again! keep it up. =)
im disappointed it doesnt have the zoo features. it will most likely come as dlc for another 20 quid
The words of... David. LOL. Let's hail all Lord Braben.
I can just imagine a ghost train were you have to make it dark and place a bunch of triggered effects and scares to get people to like it
If this is the same engine as ED then it probably supports VR. You should have a go on your rollercoasters with your rift on Mac.
Your stories were funny. Alton Towers was a nice, well behaved park. I went on one ride 11 times and missed the train to the hotel because I stayed so late, from opening to closing time.
So the challenge mode is similar to Sim Theme Park World?
Are you ever going to touch on elite dangerous again since a lot has happened since your last review?
This game needs Ai Characters... basically personalities against the Player. "The Movies" is a good example i think.
The Grand National what a ride that was. If you were really suicidal you'd sit at the back for greater chance of being thrown off the ride (>
we need accidents to happen. that's why i wanted a blood and gore dlc.
Great review; that said, I can totally relate with the Great National experience :D Exactly my thoughts were running through my head when I got on that coaster. ^^;
you know the saying, nothing worth having comes easy
If you really want reality and a challenge, you turn of charges for coasters, because that's more often than not reality. But last time I tried that, that was impossible. That was in Beta.
The game is probably more about the limits of your imagination and creativity, than it is about challenges.
blackpool pleasure beach. What a place. You should try the Big One now :)
Standard Yorkshire or Yorkshire Gold though? The gold stuff is the king of tea... Great review as always :)
Mack no more discount on Greenmangaming?
Yeah, all you do is click the link in my vid then if u buy something I get a commission. The discount is now all built into the site, u still get discount.
Worth A Buy Weird, I tried to buy Transport Fever through your link, but the price is exactly the same as in Steam. Maybe the discount only work for same games, so no worries. Keep up the good work!
in tears at that rant
This game is just 50% of what i expected. graphics AAA (this is just a masterpiece if u have a good pc). Mechanics and content not satisfying at the moment. Missing tons of things, like transfer tracks, switches, hotels and resorts, parking lot, elevators & escalators, bits and pieces, scenerie parts, much more shops and stalls, flat rides like ghost houses etc. etc. i could go on for hours.... and no waterfalls!!!! If there won´t be massive updates in the future i´ll go back to RCT3 or Nolimits2.
I love roller coasters so I might pick this one up! Thanks for the review Mack!
I agree with you. It's not £30 worth of fun. I bought it, refunded it and will buy it again WHEN it's in a sale.
