Super nice guy, got to hang with him about 20min right around the time of this interview and was glad to meet him because we know some of the same people from Cortland.
Would've loved to have seen the Magica trilogy completed, as well as another one from Sabbath with Dio...but as Ronnie said here, could die tomorrow...😰
Hello Ronnie👍lové this interview, you are so Beautiful MAN, SINGER , DISCRET, we can’t JUST LOVE YOU💋YOUR SONGS give « CHILLS and HAPPINESS » a BEING MAN💋👍
Very interesting the way Ronnie explains what a great working relationship him and Iommi have when it comes to writing new material and songs. No wonder they've had so many fantastic songs over the years , especially on the: Heaven & Hell, Mob Rules, and Dehumanizer albums. I think I vaguely remember Vinnie Appice saying something like there were a few good songs on the Devil You Know album, but most of the songs on there were'nt really great songs like on the other three albums they did in the past. And Vinnie said something like he hoped they would do another album after the Devil you know album, because he felt it would be something really fantastic like the other three previous albums were. I definitely agree with that too. Dehumanizer was by far my favorite album that they did with Dio. And the songs on the Devil you know just didn't do much for me compared to the other 3 albums. But any songs that Dio did with Iommi are 100% better than anything Ozzy ever did with the band. Ozzys voice is absolutely pathetic, a joke. He has the worst, weakest voice of any singer Black Sabbath EVER had. Just listen to Ozzys voice on this more recent Black Sabbath concert with him and honestly tell me if you think he has a good voice (from a 2016 concert) ruclips.net/video/79yEJVk7CDE/видео.html Dio had a better voice than Ozzy even right up until less than a year before he died from stomach cancer: (on August 29th, 2009) ruclips.net/video/hniaoud1iYQ/видео.html
Dude, Dio is and will aways be number 1, but don't thrash on Ozzy. His voice was weird, we could agree on that, but pathetic ? Certainly not. No other than him could have sung Black Sabbath, War Pigs, N.I.B, Electric Funeral, all those absolutely awesome Black Sabbath tracks, carried partly by a feeling only Ozzy is able to give with his voice. How could people thrash talk on Ozzy so much, it desperates me. Seriously. Of course he had drugs problems, of course he was not an athlete at all, which is why (to take from what Dio says in the interview up there) he didn't stay on a good level, and was quite rapidly unable to sing on scene. But seriously, how could you deny the importance of the guy in the history of metal, and the importance of his voice in the first Black Sabbath albums ? It mind blows me. There are recordings of concerts out there where Dio sings War Pigs for example. You'll see how weird it feels. It just doesn't fit, with all my respect to Dio, who is my personnal favorite forever. But Ozzy really had his thing, and no other one could ever sing those tracks. WHAT IS THIS THAT STANDS BEFORE ME...? Dude how could anyone sing this without Ozzy's voice seriously
Gotta love the dude, and it's still so strange that he's gone... Funny detail is the cup 🙂 No Dio interview was complete without a paper cup, with beer or coffe, that looked oversized in his hand ❤️
Εχει παρατηρησει κανεις την ομοιοτητα του Dio με το χαρακτηρα του Wayne Unser απο το Sons of Anarchy? Oπως και την ειρωνια οτι και οι δυο εχουν καρκινο,εστω και σαν φανταστικος χαρακτηρας ο δευτερος...
"..... Someone who had so much opportunity but had no opportunity"......huh ???? Overkill on the supposed metaphors. Teaming up with Dio wasn't a mistake. Geezer relinquishing the lyric writing was!!!
Does anyone know if Dio ever recorded any unreleased tracks for Magica II or III? and Is his book ever going to be published or was it never even finished?
There is a song called Electra, which is on the Magica Deluxe Edition, that was intended to be on Magica II. Supposedly that was his last official recording. As far as his book, no one really knows.
Best metal singer, pure class as a human being.
Dio was possibly the nicest and most sincere Metal star ever.
66 years old, with the energy of a 30 year old, despite being very ill 🌟 👍❤️
Tough to hear him talk about the upcoming projects he never got to finish
Sadly we’ve never got around to hearing more music or gotten those albums sucks 😞 R.I.P dio you’re so missed very very much in the music world
I always stop to hear Ronny James speak, it’s important. We will never forget you.
"If I wont finish it until I die..." Such a shame!
Bless you Ronnie. You will be never forgotten!
Ronnie James Dio is a Rock legend!
Ronnie was the Klaus Meine of the USA - vocals and power wise. Man they could both belt out!!! Ronnie lives forever.
We want Ronnie james dio back now
Miss Dio, he was very humble and articulate. So modest for being such a legendary icon. My all time favorite vocalist
My Idol. Pure heart. Each spoken work with sincerity and respect to not point finger in anyone. A great human and soul.
DIO FOREVER

5:13... that is why GOOD MUSIC is no more
Man o man i wish instead of touring, he woulda got checked by dr, stayed in the studio, did Magicka 2 and 3.
Α ρε Ντιο τη ωραία φωνή που είχες τί κρίμα που έφυγες νωρίς.
Grande cantor descansa em paz 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 rock
I wonder what are the nine things from Magica II and III he was working on. I'd also like to know about his book.. :(
I always feel sad when Dio talks about Magica 2 😢
What a decent guy
It's so sad hearing him talk about projects he wanted to start and finish
They should ask who the rights of Black Sabbath should go to
All of them is probably what he would say
Gotta love the dude, and it's still so strange that he's gone...

Good interview
12:50 😭 we all go to the reaper with unfinished plans and unfulfilled dreams. Even dio
15:54 waiting forever on Wendy to make this happen
Rainbow in the Dark: The Autobiography of Ronnie James Dio
Wonder if he knew of his cancer at this time😢best vocalist ever
He didnt know he had Cancer in this interview in July because he found out about Cancer in November 2009

The book was finished by Wendy, but it was never published, was supposed to be published last year, but Idk
Wow that fucking sucks... I hope it gets published, Dio would've wanted it to be.
The most recent news about the autobiography is that it's meant to be coming in 2020. We'll have to wait and see though.
The book's out. Rainbow in the Dark: The Autobiography of Ronnie James Dio
I preferred JLT for rainbow. Groovier. RJD is only good for the odd ballad but NO GROOVE and not exactly timeless
Can I order a translator please I don't speak greek
