      I have never had a problem with the vest restraints 🤷‍♂️. In fact, I like them more than the regular old style b&m restraints, because I feel more secure (not between clicks). Also, if it weren't for vest restraints we wouldn't have flying coasters.
      Literally the only restraint to hurt me is the one on Skyrush. Now THAT restraint is truly a horrible torture device for my thighs. I'm skinny AF, so it's practically crushing my femurs to dust.

    Surf Coaster: An Image
    Enthusiasts: this launched, rmc inspired, thrill ride will be fast paced ejector with snappy elements. The only conceivable inversions are an innelman and a zero g roll. Height: 158 ft with a top speed of 72.67 mph. Not to mention the drop track and true answer to what’s in the shed remember that b&m is incapable of innovation and must do what’s already been done.

  • @RadioMuse1

    I could easily see B&M Surf being an excellent model for Cedar Fair in particular - assuming it actually is a blitz-like concept. Cedar Fair pioneered the blitz coaster concept, but fell out with Intamin before building any more of them (unless you count i305's blitz/giga insanity). Cedar Fair likes to take successful ride concepts from their flagship properties and spread them to all their other high-performing parks - and their relationship with B&M is clearly excellent.
    I do disagree that the "speed hill" on B&Ms is really RMC inspired though - the first speed hills on B&Ms were Leviathan and Shambala - both opening in 2012. I think Levi was probably the first designed and the brief was probably a focus on "speed" to differentiate it from Behemoth's airtime / height. The only RMC open while those rides were still in development was New Texas Giant.
    The wave turn and outer bank are definitely RMC inspired though - even if the forces are clearly "safer".

    • @iceblade019
      @iceblade019 3 года назад +1

      I really agree with your points on speed hills. And that’s why I find Leviathan so important for B&M, it’s not only their first giga, it’s their first speed focused coaster, the first with sand filled in track, the first with Ejector airtime in mind and the first newer B&M with good pacing. I also think that B&M pioneered speed hills, they are far more sustained than other manufacturers’ “speed hill” at the time.

    Just one thing I was wondering about - I don’t see how the speed hills on B&M hypers could be inspired by RMC. The first speed hill on a hyper was on Shambhala (I believe) which opened mid 2012. New Texas Giant opened mid 2011 but layouts are typically planned out at least 2 years prior to opening. If we take Icon for example, the layout was revealed to the public in 2016 and didn’t open till 2018. And if it was released to the public in 2016, it could have even been finalised around late 2015. Of course, B&M could have added in a speed hill after seeing the success of New Texas Giant.

    I never actually got why people hate B&M so much. I consider myself an enthusiast for much of my life and "B&M sucks" ist just something you kind of learn from others when you get into the community. Yes their layouts aren't as innovative as those of other companies, but you got to give them respect for what they originally brought to the table when they started. They were pioneers in ride smoothness and complex layouts. I mean, they built the first inverts and standups, it's kind of rediculous to say they're not innovative. Plus, I think they build the most beautiful rides just to look at; their layout just conveys a sense of elegance for me. Especially inverts; i just like how the trains move on them. That propapbly sounds weird, but i doubt I'm the only one who thinks that way :D

    I wouldn't mind vest restraints at all if they solved the tightening down in high g-force sections. I know it's kind of a good idea, like why wouldn't you want you restraints to tighten down in high g sections just to be extra safe. But it's a bit much hahah. It's not like they don't know what to do to make it not do that. It's a conscious decision. Short of that, I don't hate vest restraints. But I'd prefer clamshells. They wouldn't really work for inversions for those ultra safe parks. You don't want someone blacking out and riding face down or getting their head thrown forward and back/side to side. At least on intense rides. I'm more of a fan of family rides than anything though. I prefer the giddy fun over holy shit almost any day. I'd love a video series or something on No Limits 2 coasters. Showcasing good ones, or going over shaping of track etc. It doesn't get much love on coaster channels for some reason. Do you design your own coasters @Coastoons?

    Speed hills are an RMC inspired element? What is your definition of a speed hill cause there are plenty of coasters that have what I would call a speed hill that opened long before new texas giant.

      I think I phrased it wrong. I meant speed hills on a B&M are an RMC element. B&M only started doing speed hills after RMC's and didn't really dive in putting it on all of their layouts until RMC really got big

    B&M can see success with a launch coaster because Mack's are just as expensive and Intamin has reliability/reputation issues in the US. But overall, I find it very hard to believe this model can beat their hyper's success. For one, most parks don't want more than 1 or 2 launch coasters in their lineup. So any park with a launch coaster already probably will not be looking to add another launch to their lineup, so long as their launch coaster has substantial depth to it - TTD wouldn't cancel out a B&M launch but Maverick could. SF is unlikely to work with B&M for the foreseeable future so that takes away a major player. The hyper model filled a large void in the coaster market from its inception and really only had Intamin to compete with. However Intamin did not see the success in their hypers that B&M did and that allowed B&M to truly command the hyper market in the US. And since the hypercoaster is reliable and a GP machine it became a park staple for most parks.
    I think the surf coaster has the potential to be better than most B&M's, but from an overall success perspective, I dont think it will beat the hyper. I think Fury 325 will remain king B&M until a new B&M giga beats it, and i dont think we will see nearly as many surf coasters as hypers

    • @Coastoons

      @@Coastoons I cant argue with that! I'm a hyper lover so I find it unlikely B&M can top Fury with anything other than a better Fury, but you are right, if the surf coaster has 2-across seating its most likely going to notch up the intensity, which will for sure please enthusiasts
