I did setup last wipe and I don't really wanna do it this wipe. I can really feel you suffering through your video, so glad you complete that son of gun quest!
I always skip setup.. my main goals are max traders + epsilon.. then just mess around, pvp, help friends with quests and pvp/loot runs.. thats what tarkov is about for me.
This is the first wipe I completed Setup, and I enjoyed. Catching PMCs off guard and unloading flechette into their legs was the most fun I've had in this damn game.
Good work getting setup done bro! Cant wait to see you do punisher part 4 Im currently stuck on it and im struggling to even find someone... It would honestly be helpful to see how you get it done!
I am planning to do a Punisher questline video but it will take a while to put together. I did a video on Punisher Part 4 last wipe if you want to check that one out 😁
@MaskedFPS I checked it out was definitely helpful! finally finished it! Honestly I think it made me a better player, so many Chad's I genuinely got better at taking them out though positioning and tactics. Got all my kills in a morning and night once it clicked, although now I feel spoilt for choice since I was stuck on lighthouse so long....
The secret to doing setup with less frustration is to not play it like that. I always use superperformance slugs, and leg meta them from distance. My favourite spot is the sniping hole in Wearhouse 4 at night. Nobody checks it, and so many players cross over there to get to old gas. Camping just southwest of dorms is also a winner. There’s a nice pit to sit in on the east side of the hill. Only problem there is getting swarmed by scavs. MP-155 all decked out, and with a valday.
I also did most of my quests this wipe as a solo, and yes this one is not easy but I managed to do it quite fast. Instead of rushing this quest and feeling frustrated I waited and focused on other quests that would allow me to unlock AP-20 craft. I crafted like 4 batches of ammo and went on customs with a suppressed shotgun and an ELCAN 4x scope. This made the quest so much easier most people run level 4 armor and you can 2tap them in the chest or 1tap them if they run level 3. I really recommend to try and do the quest like this it turned something that I hated into something actually fun and I managed to finish it in only 4 raids and I didn't even die. There is one more way to do this, If you are a good shot you can complete this quest with the MP-18, the single shot rifle that fires 7.62x54, it's considered a shotgun because it's smoothbore, I am not sure if this is easier because you need to reload after each shot but it does allow you to play more like a sniper and engage players at long range instead of camping or rushing with a normal buckshot shotgun.
Nice strategy bro, AP-20 would definitely make this quest more bearable. I'm thinking if I ever try it again to just run BMG slugs which are like budget AP20.
This wipe Setup was so easy for me, but last wipe I struggled. I finally got it by laying on the red crane or the roof of the bus next to it, equiping a decent scope on my shotgun and using Super Formance rounds. Easy kills.
I think the key to setup is doing it as soon as you get it. I did it pretty much right away and it was so much easier to do when people were wearing Level 4 armour.
Yeah true early wipe it might be easier since everyone's got tier 4 or above Armour now which does make it more difficult. I think I won't even do it next wipe...
@@MaskedFPS I did it for the first time this wipe and I found trying to get a kill off spawn then just running to dorms and lurking around until I get another the best way. After going to dorms I would just reset
You have to camp mate. RUAF gate and the bushes before the little skeleton are great to catch one or two off guard. No fancy shot gun and magnum buck shot are enough to blow some legs away.
I did setup with punisher part 3 brought in 2 guns. It increases your survivability and you are able to progress on 2 quests per raid. Good luck in your raids everyone!
this wipe i completed this in 2 raids which felt awesome especially with how action packed both raids were, technically it took 8 raids but the other 6 i seriously didnt run into ANYONE despite running to every gunshot and popular locations... so i had the same kit the whole time
Knowing the spawns is important - but phrasing it "knowing the spawns can net you some easy kills" in a scenario where you 1000 % would be dead if the other dude hadn't been complete pepega is pretty wild. He caught you pants down not aimed in or anything and a lucky headshot saves the day - you even see him on the screen way before you swing to him further solidifying that you had no clue, so a bit of a stretch to frame that as intended.
That comment is not tied to one specific moment. For example when I ran up to fortress, had I been sitting at the window on the right I would have had a free kill but I wasn't and ended up dying, goes both ways my guy
@@MaskedFPS but that is not very clear when it is added as a clear post commentary thing. I think the intention you describe doesn't come through it just sits there as a dubious statement where it isn't clear if that refers to him, you, the whole situation etc.
Well some of the kills I got and in other videos too are attributed to knowing the spawns and using that to my advantage, it was intended as a generalised statement.
There are a lot of quests in Tarkov that need serious revamping. Setup is one of those quests that need to be revamped hard. To me, Setup should be done in 3 parts. Setup 1) Kill 5 USEC PMC's and collect 5 dog tags, Must wear a Bear WARTECH TV-115 plate carrier, AK series rifle and Ratnik class helmet. Turn in 5 USEC tags. Setup Part 2) Kill 5 BEAR PMC's and collect 5 dog tags. Must wear a USEC Eagle Allied Industries MBSS plate carrier, M4 and Tac-Kek FAST MT helmet (Replica). Turn in 5 BEAR tags. Setup Part 3) Stash a M4, Fast MT helm and 5 USEC tags outside a BEAR safehouse on burned/covered bodies in Customs, Stash an AK-74, Ratnik helmet and 5 BEAR Dog Tags outside a USEC safehouse in Ground Zero. Stash a secure flash drive in BEAR safe house on custom, Stash a Secure Flash Drive in the USEC safehouse on ground zero. This way while its split in 3 parts its manageable. It does not matter where the tags and kills are done giving the player flexibility to go to other maps and collect the kills + tags. Setup part 3 having doctored film data on each drive would show USEC attacking a BEAR safehouse (but in reality it was Skier's men) and the same for USEC safehouse. The goal is basically you planting the 'correct' evidence to provide the necessary info that it was both sides going at each other. Punisher 4, Setup and other quests that sort of lock you into a specific area to kill x amount of PMC/SCAVs are awful on PVP its worse on PVE with the RNG being do you get enough PMC's to kill for x quest, or will they even be the right faction. More flexibility to complete quests how the player sees fit while still maintaining the core of the line quest should be the objective the team needs to internalize.
@@MaskedFPS The issue with Tarkov Quests are....they are not fun to do or complete. They are for the most part tedious and heavily based on RNG. As Ground Zero is the "starting" area, there should be a starting quest for each of the main traders with a new trader replacing the position of Jaeger. Jaeger should be placed on the same level of Lightkeeper and Ref. As he's sort of already fits that role with the letter of introduction via Mechanic. Prapor, Therapist, Mechanic and Skier give introduction quests with Skier doing a unlock quest for Peacekeeper on Ground Zero. Prapor will unlock a quest that eventually introduces you to Ragman. Therapist will then unlock a new Trader that takes the role of Jager (who you need at LL3 for bathroom and water) being more themed around waste, hazmat and water treatment. This will slot Jaeger who serves as a Partisan/Boss task manager hence being more in the group of Lightkeeper and Ref. Once the player leaves ground zero via a quest dubbed "escaping Tarkov" from Prapor, this is where Mechanic's quest to unlock Jaeger via the woods is now accessible. Even the quest idea mention is just finding intel for Prapor who will then give you intel on how to escape the city. Even though at the end of the quest Prapor is very vague on the how to do it and rather would exploit you to his own gains. From there you'd want to weed out the older "starting quests", exchange them for newer updated versions.
I do agree that the quests are not actually fun to do. What would be smart in my opinion as it's a lot of work to revamp quests is to just have starting quests shuffle around a bit more. E.g. maybe we start on interchange one wipe with the ragman quests and customs happens later. Or we start on shoreline immediately with those early wipe shoreline quests as opposed to always starting on gzero/customs etc. That might change it up a bit and not have every wipe be so repetitive.

Never have I ever wasted time on dumbass quests like these. IF I would play again, I'd be playing what and how I want, and not go shitgun on freakin customs
That's the spirit bro! 🤣
@@MaskedFPS I actually have to admit that I did try some runs but going for these kind of quests forces me into doing things I normally don't do so I suck even more :)
But do keep up the content, I'm not playing anymore for almost a year now but do watch some stuff from you from time to time
Fair enough bro and appreciate that you watch 😁
setup is my fav quest :D
You are lucky, I can't stand it 😅
This is my 12th wipe and I’ve completed that terrible quest once or twice. It definitely ruins the game.
Can confirm it ruins the game for me also. Punisher Part 4 is the absolute worst though
Setup is easy. The hard tasks are the ones like stray dogs. Complete RNG.
Yeah, I think just the ones that force you to use certain guns and armor really make things "not fun"
Setup is the dumbest quest in the game. I have died like 8 times in a row. I am done
I know your pain bro, gotta push through man the good raid is right around the corner
am i confused but by you waiting for a month to do it doesn't that just making it worse for you i try to complete it as soon as i get it i understand nobody likes the game telling you to use the gear they want you to use but thats the game
It definitely Made it worse for me, but I just haven't had as much motivation with tarkov questing this wipe so I procrastinated it 😅
i actually had a much better time doing setup this quest, oh wait i still need one more kill lol.
Nice dude, can't say the same for me 🤣 just glad I managed to get it done
Set up Is fun!!!!!
Not sure I agree with that one 🤣
Use slugs and camp. ;)
If I ever do this quest again, that is definitely what I'll do 😅
Ho can anyone say setup is hard when quest like psycho sniper or blushit exist? What about test drive? 20 kills on streets with 40 fps on 2000$ pc
Because I don't actually do those quests 😅
@@MaskedFPS haha okay then it make sens.
🤣
xDD psycho sniper sounds worse
Sniping quests are difficult too 🤣
I just camp an extract and afk play another game or watch a movie/series
Not gonna lie that sounds like a very good strategy
Ez task
🤣
Cheaters are killing tarkov , not the quest dude
Not wrong about this one... I've seen a few lately
Jjjajjajajaja i agree ofc , anyway i hate bolt action quest like pshyco Sniper 😂 i understand ur feel
Oh no, a quest gated by player skill. Why do people feel entitled to be able to complete every tarkov quest easily or at all? Questline to Kappa are ment to be hard and force you to adapt to weapons and playstyles you don’t play or want to play. Participation trophy syndrome
This quest locks many behind it, wouldn't even consider it as a Kappa quest, it is quite crucial. I personally dislike questing altogether so when forced to use shotguns etc. It makes the game not enjoyable, just my opinion
