The truth is without a TV show there is no profit at restoring cars like they did. Paying 7 guys salaries. And who would buys these cars? What client is spending 200K on a 40K car? Gas Monkey is not a normal auto resto shop. It would never continue the way it did without a TV show.
I do both bought for me in 1977 and nobody has a hope in hell of getting them off me. Both are 1/24th scale Corgi Di cast and still in their box un played with. My gran bought them for my Christmas box and died in December 1977. I'm now 51 and still have them in the boxes never played with..
My dad had one of these Cadillacs in about 61or 62 I was just 4or 5 years old sure brings back memories. Thanks for the videos you guys do a heck of a job.
No joke here... my neighbor has the nicest 1999 Chevrolet Astro van, probably in the world...! After the kids grew up, he totally resto-modded it... All custom interior, like private jet looking stuff... It started with a 5.3L and quickly got replaced with an LS9, I think it's what he called it, the supercharged Cadillac CTS-V motor...?!? It runs in the mid-10's...!!! And it's kind of a sleeper, although the paint was redone, it's just the factory color repaint... Thanks, keep up y'alls awesomeness and go enjoy some nature today...!

You need a Bungie cable like they use in the Norwegian military. You drive forward and it stretches and you have momentum. Stops you getting stuck in a hole.
yes they are Commercially sold on Ebay pretty reasonably as exactly that Snatch recovery Straps years ago we had to buy 1 1/2” Nylon rope from a Sip Supply store to make our own Snatch Ropes for Off Roading in the Florida Everglades the new Snatch lines are nicer because they have loops on the ends and usually come with heavy Duty Shackles With our old Ropes we had to tie knots and try to Untie them to keep our ropes for the next Adventure the new Straps and Shackles make it way easier and cheaper too I think the last Rope i bought i paid nearly 50 dollars for probably 25 feet
That small boat is a home made hydroplane they use to sell instructions how to build In magazines like popular mechanics. They go 50mph skipping on the water with like a 10-15hp motor. Scary and fun. Lots here in MN. How much you want for it.

Richard you really need to have an authenticator come in and appraise those diecast. I say authenticate because I imagine there are some original diecast and some re-pops. From the brief glance I saw a few antique and highly collectible models. That is an amazing collection and any die hard collector like myself would love to see what is there with an in depth search. That is just as big as my 1960 Oldsmobile four-door holiday special they are one big car too big for trailers enclosed trailers anyway but there sure are fun to drive on the highway when they’re fixed up at least mine is rides smooth as glass don’t feel any bumps

It’s a hydroplane they are instruction kits made out of wood and fiberglass. My dad and I made one. They are just shrunk down versions of the ones they race. But a 15hp motor will go 50mph they are scary fast. Pretty common up here in Minnesota. I was king of the lake at 10 years old with mine haha

You need a big rig Peterbilt or KW with a combination flat deck and box body trailer ,then you can cater for all circumstances,the truck could have the sleeper box . Carry big winches and wheel Dolly's Meantime load the dually up with mechandise ,so already you got spare cloths ,right ? Think JDs offer would have taken the stress out of the predicament ! But it was good watching ,and you sort of got your hands dirty Can't wait for the outcome videos
So you guys need to outfit your tow truck or trailer with a jack, and jack stands, wheel dollies and good portable lug nut gun. jack the car up, take the wheels off, then send the wheels down to a tire store either air pop the tires back on to the bead, or buy some cheapie tires and get it down so you can winch the car into the trailer. Come on boys, do I have to do it for you? I was shaken my head for 10 minutes! But on the other hand, it was a good story line, and pretty humorous! lol

I use the chain and pipe trick for cars that won't roll. 2 sections of pipe and some chain around the tire is all you need.

So you guys need to outfit your tow truck or trailer with a jack, and jack stands, wheel dollies and good portable lug nut gun. jack the car up, take the wheels off, then send the wheels down to a tire store either air pop the tires back on to the bead, or buy some cheapie tires and get it down so you can winch the car into the trailer. Come on boys, do I have to do it for you? I was shaken my head for 10 minutes! But on the other hand, it was a good story line, and pretty humorous! lol
