How can one claim that Italian football is weak when having Inter and Milan in CL Semi-finals, Juventus and Roma in EL Semi-finals and Fiorentina in Conference League Semi-Finals.
No other league is even near those results. So even if the players aren’t as good on paper, somehow they succeed

Its exactly because of your last statement. There are no superstars. That league is devoid of superstars. The pl has haaland, kdb, salah and others. La liga has benzema, modric, vinicius, lewandowski. Bundesliga rn doesnt have any huge player other than perhaps kimmich but theyre still a scary team, so theyre respected. Even ligue 1 has mbappe, messi, neymar. Serie a has no one. Also, when people watch the CL they see ac milan in tbe semis, and it wasnt a great showing from them. Hard to be convinced of how good these teams are when they perform so poorly in the big stages

Lautaro Martinez may be a striker who’s divided opinion due to his streaky streak in front of goal and how he performed for the Argentina national team at the World Cup but you’ve seen the productivity in his game he has great goalscoring output and his hold up play is excellent. If Inter Milan wins the champions league he has won every big trophy for club and country. Won a domestic cup Serie A Copa América and a World Cup and in the same season he could be a World Cup winner and champions league winner if his team wins the champions league. At the age of 25, Lautaro Martinez is set to complete football for club and country if he ends up winning the champions league next month. I think he’s often overlooked due to his consistency but throughout his Inter Milan career he has given them great output for them and has won almost every possible trophy in football and he’ll complete football if his club ends up winning the champions league. What a player and regardless of his inconsistency, Lautaro Martinez is an excellent player and has been a key part in Argentina’s success and also Inter Milan’s success in Serie A and champions league. He’s grossly underrated and for him he’s had a great season not just this year but in previous years too and right now Lautaro Martinez is one of the best strikers in world football.

@@tomodul2619 Julian Alvarez is only 22 and if Manchester City wins the treble this season including the champions league he could end the season being the most decorated player in world football because he won the World Cup and he’s playing on a team fighting for every trophy. Despite being an understudy to Erling Haaland, Julian Alvarez has had a fantastic season for club and country and he’s absolute quality. He plays for Manchester City and he doesn’t play every week but when he starts he scores a goal. Julian Alvarez will start on most teams in the world that’s how good he is and when a player of that quality doesn’t get in your best 11 that just tells you how good that Manchester City team because when a player like him can walk into any team in Europe he’s on the bench on this star studded team. Serie A is very competitive. Four different champions in 4 years - Juve (2020), Inter (2021), MIlan (2022) and Napoli (2023). Then you have teams like Roma, Lazio, Fiorentina and Atalanta who have done well in recent years. Italian managers like Ancelloti, De Zerbi, Conte and Inzaghi are doing very well and Italy won the Euros.
Money is an issue but if Italian teams can sort out the stadiums and build their own grounds I think it will help to redress the balance somewhat. The football isn't all defensive (lazy stereotype). Some of the most defensive and negative UCL winners of all time were Chelsea in 2012 and Liverpool in 2005.
Despite all of their wealth English teams have won only 6 UCL's in the 30 years since its inception in 1992-93 (the same season the EPL was launched) . Italian teams have 5 UCL wins.

Wasn't Inter the only team that beat Liverpool at Amfield in route to Champions League final? The Premier league really struggled to compete with Serie A and Spain for decades until basically "no need to beat teams on the field anymore because you can beat them economically" (with few exceptions Liverpool and Manchaster United in the Ferguson era) . This is what happens when people become so lazy they only have mental capacity to watch one league. Even then, where is your humility to acknowledge that quality exists outside England?
The disrespect shown here to Inter (and Italy in general) is there for everyone to see. No one made these derogatory comments when Liverpool came up against much fancied AC Milan team in 2005 before the final. No one made those comments about league struggling Chelsea against most inform team in Europe that season Bayern with the final at their home. None of these "experts" also made similar comments against Chelsea again versus City in CL final.
There is a difference in saying, one team should be clear favourites based on investment they have made over the year, strengthening year after year, winning their domestic league etc, but Inter aren't some Estonian 3rd division team either. A team of world class on their own in Onana, Bastoni, DiMarco, Brozo, Barella and Lautaro. When you have those type of players plus a coach who does well in cup finals. Nothing is ever as one balanced as these lazy guys are making it out to be.
Everything has to be in hyperbole, City has to steamroll Inter, laugh and job well done. What an incredibly lazy take, something I have noticed many English pundits or English based shows make.
