For me main reason super is better than gt is that.. the show feels more of a stand alone show that has way more perks and perks . Like yes the first two sagas were basically retelling of the movie but U6 Vs U7 to Goku black saga to TOP was very good to watch. They felt more standing on their own two feet and felt enjoyable to watch to me For gt I’ve watched it as a kid really helped me a lot when I was younger ( watched dub at the time and dear god sub dialogue was more consistent and not out of place ). Re watching the sun last year … the GT arc has glaring problems with story telling terrible executions with small characters that did not have any impact. Like pan character issue is that she wants to be independent and not being saved and wants to be a stand up character that becomes someone that others depend on: however she is used primarily as a character that literally causes issues for the main characters with troubles and doesn’t build her character away from it. Also the terrible story execution with the start of black star dragon ball just elongating the first 29 episodes till the plot is finallly realized by the organic robats that are also gathering the dragon balls and we find out towards the end baby was the main villain was the only good thing out of yet arc. The baby arc was great no issues it felt more of the goku black arc ( which is always good for me ). But the super 17 arc was … how did they even get to the story telling aspect of introducing the hell base situation when dr gero and mue somehow created two 17s in hell? Like hell did they build a 17 in hell while anther was in the living world. Than the fighting where goku for 8 minutes blasting ki attacks and made a guess s17 was absorbing his ki … and to check his guess fires a x10 Kamehameha was such a character assassination ( which DBs did with making goku dumb and illegal when he isn’t that sort of guy 24/7). The shadow saga arc for the most part … the first 4 dragons felt so disappointing. The buildup of the dark dragon balls containing evil dragons that represent the misuse of the dragons balls didn’t feel villains but more side quest that didn’t feel like villains or bosses. Hell somehow ssj4 goku and pan almost losing to one of the dragons but got saved by a rainstorm was hilarious terrible story telling. The end of gt with the final 3 dragons were great no problem But the way I feel watch whatever makes you feel enjoyment . But to me dragon ball super had at least better story telling better character representation where they don’t rely on goku doing everything and every character associated with goku had more responsibly and impact to the story. Seeing master roshi tein having actual representation in the tournament arc was refreshing and having trunks finally being able to stand up on his own feet to fight against goku and zamasu ( even though in the anime they made both zamasu and black fusion insanely powerful Zeno needed to intervene and felt more of a representation towards how powerful Zeno is and took away trunks victory ).
Super has better & cooler characters, and a very fun & exciting storyline, 100 times more creative than GT, since Toriyama wrote it unlike GT, which wasn't even adapted from a manga, it was just a cash grab
GT has better stories and is a TRUE advancement of the series. It's not meant to be Dragon Ball Z like Z is not meant to be Dragon Ball. In GT the characters get older (Goten, Trunks, ect) and wear DIFFERENT CLOTHES instead of the same boring ass outfits like in Shitty, I mean Super💯
Super 17 & SSJ 4 were my favourite parts of DB GT. Super 17 in GT wasn't that great of a character but man is his character design amazing af making him like double his Android 17 height & the insane power up gave me perfect cell vibes. He also came across as creepier and a bit more psychotic, which I loved. Especially in Tenkaichi 2 with that crazy laugh he gave after powering up to 100%. SSJ 4 Goku of course defused that tension of terror that'd would've been there otherwise. SSJ 4 is the last original super saiyan transformation out of the DB francise up until this point and I loved it. SSG just looks more like if disney or the creators of Pokemon did a slim base Goku design with Kaioken stacked on top. SSB is literally just SSJ with blue hair instead of gold which is something my best friend and I used to draw and colour in back in 2002 in the 6th grade. We did SSJ Blue, Green, Purple and Red. So that's just lazy design. UI Goku is literally base with more white aura and some pupils like SSJ 3 & SSG. UI Mastered is just going all white supremicist with the hair but still pretty much Base Goku meets transforming into SSJ Goku but White instead of Gold/Yellow hair. Also lazy.

I think both Super & GT had in common is that they pretty much an inferior sequel to DBZ, but give them a chance then it's actually not that bad (despite it's flaws at least). Super at least had better utilization of side character, better new characters (Beerus and Whis for example) , better antangonist, great music, and intresting world building (like the expansion of newer Gods hierarchy, the God Ki's, time travell, and the multiverse). But sadly guilty for having bad animation (even though it gets better overtime) , lack of violence, the God's form being hit or miss, the lack of villains, and Goku's character assasination. GT had better concept, better animation, better music, best form (SSJ 4) in the intire franchise, more villains, and an awesome ending. I agree with your opinion. What was shown in GT was simply an attempt to complete Dragon Ball series from producers. he ending was too rushed and weird. Unfortunately, even the ending didn’t touch me atl all as a DBZ fan. I personally hate when producers decide for the author how his work should end. And this is why GT failed in many aspects despite its positive sides.

Another problem with GT in my opinion is that no one will ever genuinely look at GT with an objective lens because of heir nostalgia. Let take ssj4 for instance. Ssj4 is a form that dwells deep and supposedly implies that the form is the true peak of the saiyan. The form concept itself is already against dragon ball. Super saiyan was special cause it was a stark difference in goku's personality but the point of the cell arc was to show that it was mastery and control that pushed one's power and plays one of its theme for martial arts. Ssj3 was inefficient because of its crazy power and lack of control. To say that the ultimate form of goku, would just be something completely opposite of the theme and character is a bit of a miss. Ssj4 in the end isn't even much. He soon becomes a punching bag and then has a convenient secret powerboost when other saiyans pass on power to him to get the job done. The ending also in a way made no damn sense. Does shenron ascend to another world? When could he do that? Goku suddenly becomes immortal getting absorbing the orbs? It was the most vague and out of nowhere concept that just was there just to end a series.
This and many more reasons are why Toriyama never saw it as canon and people can think about Super what they want but it finally answered the Question: Is GT Canon? No. No, it isnt.

As a gt fan, I want to be mad at this video, but as a dragon ball fan in general, I really think you have a lot of good points here. Super 17 was a bland character with little to no personality or flare, and for shared spotlight they could have done SO much more with the characters(especially trunks,bra and vegeta after baby saga). Gt is by no means a perfect anime, in fact as much as I hate to admit it, dragon ball super does a lot of things that gt does better than it. but I think saying it sucks is a bit strong, is it perfect?, no, but I think it has a lot of charm and redeeming qualities that at least make it a c+ on the anime ranking scale. thanks for at least going in with an open mind and trying not to be biased tho, you just earned a sub
I really respect your opinion, but I'd recommend if you ever try to watch it again to consider the Blue Water dub. It's by far the best English dub and even features an English cover of the Japanese opening and endings
I have seen a couple episodes of the BW dub, but I never really had too big of an issue with the voices. I can get past that. The story and some of the characters were just lacking to me

You are fully right, word for word I agree that GT as a whole was just not good. The Super 17 arc is Dragon Balls worst arc ever for me, the existence of the black star dragon balls made no sense and Pans characterazation was horrible.
At least its like five episodes and over tho. Super has Resurrection F, Granola Arc, ToP, Future Trunks, and only like three decent arcs and an amazing movie. Thats literally it.

What I like about GT it opened up the saiyan ancestry to new heights without that we wouldn't have DBS etc. I respect your opinion my thoughts on GT is why it sucked was because they cut dragon ball as a whole too short and ended on bad terms even though the ending was pretty good.

I agree with your opinion. What was shown in GT was simply an attempt to complete Dragon Ball series from producers. he ending was too rushed and weird. Unfortunately, even the ending didn’t touch me atl all as a DBZ fan. I personally hate when producers decide for the author how his work should end. And this is why GT failed in many aspects despite its positive sides.

Aside from Goku being a kid and the poor attempts of early dragon ball comedy, still massively better than Super.
Another problem with GT in my opinion is that no one will ever genuinely look at GT with an objective lens because of heir nostalgia. Let take ssj4 for instance.
Ssj4 is a form that dwells deep and supposedly implies that the form is the true peak of the saiyan. The form concept itself is already against dragon ball. Super saiyan was special cause it was a stark difference in goku's personality but the point of the cell arc was to show that it was mastery and control that pushed one's power and plays one of its theme for martial arts. Ssj3 was inefficient because of its crazy power and lack of control. To say that the ultimate form of goku, would just be something completely opposite of the theme and character is a bit of a miss.
Ssj4 in the end isn't even much. He soon becomes a punching bag and then has a convenient secret powerboost when other saiyans pass on power to him to get the job done.
The ending also in a way made no damn sense. Does shenron ascend to another world? When could he do that? Goku suddenly becomes immortal getting absorbing the orbs? It was the most vague and out of nowhere concept that just was there just to end a series.
This and many more reasons are why Toriyama never saw it as canon and people can think about Super what they want but it finally answered the Question: Is GT Canon? No. No, it isnt.

As a gt fan, I want to be mad at this video, but as a dragon ball fan in general, I really think you have a lot of good points here. Super 17 was a bland character with little to no personality or flare, and for shared spotlight they could have done SO much more with the characters(especially trunks,bra and vegeta after baby saga). Gt is by no means a perfect anime, in fact as much as I hate to admit it, dragon ball super does a lot of things that gt does better than it. but I think saying it sucks is a bit strong, is it perfect?, no, but I think it has a lot of charm and redeeming qualities that at least make it a c+ on the anime ranking scale. thanks for at least going in with an open mind and trying not to be biased tho, you just earned a sub
I really respect your opinion, but I'd recommend if you ever try to watch it again to consider the Blue Water dub. It's by far the best English dub and even features an English cover of the Japanese opening and endings
I have seen a couple episodes of the BW dub, but I never really had too big of an issue with the voices. I can get past that. The story and some of the characters were just lacking to me

You are fully right, word for word I agree that GT as a whole was just not good. The Super 17 arc is Dragon Balls worst arc ever for me, the existence of the black star dragon balls made no sense and Pans characterazation was horrible.
At least its like five episodes and over tho. Super has Resurrection F, Granola Arc, ToP, Future Trunks, and only like three decent arcs and an amazing movie. Thats literally it.
@@theblueprint2001 They are still far better than any GT arc, RoF is a adaptation from the DBZ movie. The Granola arc had issues but still more interesting than GT for me, Vegeta vs Granola is written better than any GT battle honestly.
GT all and all pretty much makes Super look like a masterpiece, which says it all. The worst thing about GT is the fan base though, GT fans today can't even talk about GT without hating on Super 😪. Quite sad tbh

DB GT is straight ass, Goku is just so far up in the power scale, that Vegeta had to be juiced to be ssj 4, and the rest of the z gang, is a joke. The cell saga was the last time, we truly saw the whole squad, in full action, while the Buu saga was the last time we got top tier animation and fight scenes that had great martial arts, superior character development and precision. GT is dumb, I hate everything about it. Cell saga is straight heat though.
