Craig expressed a boundary and it's reasonable and now Paige has information she didn't have before from which to help inform her decision. People are treating having children like it's nothing and I find that incredibly strange. Being with someone a couple of years doesn't mean you owe them a baby. She would have to sacrifice everything she values to move to Charleston (family, friends, career as it is defined now, and autonomy of decision making in general or over her own body due to pregnancy). Nobody can determine that for her, but now she knows in concrete terms what would cause irreparable damage. Maybe everyone should have these types of conversations before committing the rest of their lives to someone.

It’s interesting that Paige will be 32 this year and isn’t thinking about starting her family yet, if she get engaged now, and it may be another 3, 4 years before she starts having children, I’m curious to know what age she would like to have kids, or if there’s a chance she may not really want to have kids at all, just wondering why that isn’t directly discussed in their conversations

Craig was originally from Deleware, moved to Charleston and is on “Southern Charm”. His company, he can literally get a second office in NY if he truly wanted to give Paige some time. Plus where he lives? Is near all the playboy southern Peter Pan mindsets in Charleston that make it very difficult to settle down & he’s friends with guys who refuse to stay loyal in relationships and refuse to settle down. He should hang up his hat on Charleston honestly. Plus there are married couples, it’s not for everyone, who literally live in different states or Nextdoor because they get along in every way but do not function in 24/7 cohabitation. Idk, I think they can make it work, but they’ll eventually figure things out.

I totally agree that Paige is stringing Craig along. He’s wise in starting to reconsider his situation with Paige. Earlier Paige said she wanted children around 30. Now it moved to 35. Then when Craig asked about moving to Charleston the tears poured out followed by all the excuses why she cannot. Then when he was testing the waters with proposing she deflected, found reasons why she shouldn’t and then shut it down. Now she’s denying Craig asked her to move. Well that’s a rewriting the situation. When Craig offered to help with her new apartment, on the one hand that’s fair enough, on the other hand it ensures she’s not tied to Craig in anyway. Craig should consider other options while she enjoys her NYC lifestyle. At his age he needs to consider his situation and keep his options open, just like Paige is doing. Also if Craig is so emotional why does she cry when he asks her to move to Charleston or getting engaged. The reason he knows what he wants and Paige doesn’t. She keeps moving the goal posts.
She wouldn’t hesitate so much if she was all in and felt lucky to have him. She would be able to see it or would jist jump on the deep end for the right person. I had my husband of 34 years, wait like 4 or 5 years. But we lived together full time those 4 or 5 years. That was on me, because I was immature for my age. And I literally had ADHD. I got some help for that and it cleared my mind a bit to open my eyes. I never thought about marriage or kids when I was growing up. I don't know why, because my parents got married and stayed together their whole life, as did my Grandparents.

I totally agree that Paige is stringing Craig along. He’s wise in starting to reconsider his situation with Paige. Earlier Paige said she wanted children around 30. Now it moved to 35. Then when Craig asked about moving to Charleston the tears poured out followed by all the excuses why she cannot. Then when he was testing the waters with proposing she deflected, found reasons why she shouldn’t and then shut it down. Now she’s denying Craig asked her to move. Well that’s a rewriting the situation. When Craig offered to help with her new apartment, on the one hand that’s fair enough, on the other hand it ensures she’s not tied to Craig in anyway.
Craig should consider other options while she enjoys her NYC lifestyle. At his age he needs to consider his situation and keep his options open, just like Paige is doing.
