Remember her Mum very well. When Dave Efmunds bailed out of finishing the first Motorhead album back in United Artists days it was Fritz Fryer I went to to help try to complete the album precisely because I knew he was likely to be around the studio because of the relationship with her mum.We were faced with wasting another week of studio time unless I could find someone to try and finish the album.Fritz delivered the album which at the time I made the decision not to release partly as a couple of weeks later they had no manager and Larry and Lucas were no longer in the band.I promised Lemmy I would never release it as long as I was at UA only to find it released after I left at the end of 1977 and it sits in the catalogue to this day! Thanks to her mum!....Fritz was a member of The Four Pennies from Blackburn who had a No.1 single with "Juliet" on Fontana in I think 1964.

Wonderful. It's a fantastic book, I can't recommend it highly enough.

The Lemmy anecdote reminds me of my late father who nearly made it to his 92nd birthday who also lived off bacon sandwiches. ...so he was rock-'n-roll after all.
