    I love her in my tea right before bed. Also, I live in a camper and often these big, black ants will forage up on my countertops. I’ve been sprinkling essential oil and rubbing it in (I just have a rough wood countertop), and the ants stay away. They pretty much avoid any of the scents.

I have family in Eugene and Ashland, OR. , a friend in Roseburg area but I haven't done a lot of boondocks in my home state. I was born in Ashland, but I have lived most of my life in Humboldt County of Northern California. I will have to check out your neck of the woods one day ❤

    Hi April! Thank you for sharing your knowledge. You have been a huge inspiration for me to begin my own journey into tinctures, infusions and oxymels.
    I have a question about infusing with witch hazel. How long do you let the plant matter infuse before straining?

    Hello April. I think I made a mistake and somehow though I can use catnip for infusions. So I used dry store bought catnip to make nourishing herbal infusion. I did it for about 2 months once a week or so. I now know that high VOC herbs should not be used to make an infusion and stopped. Would my kidneys and gut flora be seriously damaged but 2 months of using catnip infusion? Can I do something to help them heal from this? Thank you!

    Hey thanks! Check it out, i found some what i believe is catnip. I found it in the desert near a ranch. Ponds near by. But it short very fuzzy stem, square stemmed, deeply rutted and jagged edge leaves, but the blossom clusters are main stems right sitting on the crotch of where the leaves come out. Leaves are opposite each other and each set 90* off. Could this be catnip?

    I didn't find any wild catnip around my property. I did have some BURPEE Catnip seeds which I had bought for my cats. One of the packets states "Not for human consumption". Is it safe to grow catnip from these seeds and use for tea etc or is there some special seeds I need to get? Thank you for your videos. I love them and have learned so much.

    Can you explain the differences in ID between catnip and lemon balm? I know both are in the same family, and lemon balm has a lemony/citrus scent. But they look so much alike. Is it scent alone, or are there other ways to id?

    • @sheisofthewoods
      @sheisofthewoods  4 года назад +3

      Hop online and look at each leaf because once you know the leaves you'll never mistake them. Lemon balm is like a rounded heart and for sure smells like lemon drop candies and catnip is long/jagged and has a very pungent smell with no lemon scent.

      @UCYQ1JYbOmgcUUIJXHp3W7xA if you "went to school" you would know that plants have biological sexes.
      A vast majority are primarily female after pollination has occurred, others are fully male/female (many trees and fruits), and if you think it's odd to use the smell (terpenes/phenols etc) of a plant to keep bugs at bay you absolutely didn't go to school for anything as that is the primary reason plants create VOCs.
      From your user name though it's pretty obvious you're big into hallucinogenic substances which tend to give people God complex issues ie if someone knows something you don't your massive ego is triggered.
