I love her in my tea right before bed. Also, I live in a camper and often these big, black ants will forage up on my countertops. I’ve been sprinkling essential oil and rubbing it in (I just have a rough wood countertop), and the ants stay away. They pretty much avoid any of the scents.

I found a big old patch near my house! Im very happy aabout this because bugs give me anxiety so catnip seems like an ideal ally for me at the moment :) thanks for the info!
Catnip is one of my favorite! It just popped up in my garden much to my daughter's delight - as now she is sure random cats will be making appearances in our backyard haha
This is awesome will most definitely put her in witch hazel for the bugs that give me he'll in the summer. Also will make a tincture have had problems with Lowe back and let pain.
Hi April! Thank you for sharing your knowledge. You have been a huge inspiration for me to begin my own journey into tinctures, infusions and oxymels. I have a question about infusing with witch hazel. How long do you let the plant matter infuse before straining?
I wonder if there's a way to make the herbal insect repellents last longer, like if you make them slightly less volatile by putting another oil over them.
Hello April. I think I made a mistake and somehow though I can use catnip for infusions. So I used dry store bought catnip to make nourishing herbal infusion. I did it for about 2 months once a week or so. I now know that high VOC herbs should not be used to make an infusion and stopped. Would my kidneys and gut flora be seriously damaged but 2 months of using catnip infusion? Can I do something to help them heal from this? Thank you!
Hey thanks! Check it out, i found some what i believe is catnip. I found it in the desert near a ranch. Ponds near by. But it short very fuzzy stem, square stemmed, deeply rutted and jagged edge leaves, but the blossom clusters are main stems right sitting on the crotch of where the leaves come out. Leaves are opposite each other and each set 90* off. Could this be catnip?
I didn't find any wild catnip around my property. I did have some BURPEE Catnip seeds which I had bought for my cats. One of the packets states "Not for human consumption". Is it safe to grow catnip from these seeds and use for tea etc or is there some special seeds I need to get? Thank you for your videos. I love them and have learned so much.
For the tincture do you use the entire aerial parts of the plant or just the leaves? If you take just the leaves will it still bloom so u can get both the leaves for tinctures and the blooms?
Can you explain the differences in ID between catnip and lemon balm? I know both are in the same family, and lemon balm has a lemony/citrus scent. But they look so much alike. Is it scent alone, or are there other ways to id?
Hop online and look at each leaf because once you know the leaves you'll never mistake them. Lemon balm is like a rounded heart and for sure smells like lemon drop candies and catnip is long/jagged and has a very pungent smell with no lemon scent.
Is she supposed to have a lemony smell too? She definitely has all the features you showed but almost has a lemony scent as well. Not lemon balm though!
@@sheisofthewoods it's growing wild in my yard. The leaves are heart shaped and buttery feeling like you said. The leaves aren't round enough or shiny enough to be lemon balm I don't think. But if you're right that'd be cool. It kind of smells like ditch weed mixed with a lemony smell not too pungent. Thanks for the reply!
@@sheisofthewoods thanks so much I appreciate it! I will do that tomorrow! I'm a life long loyal customer and love your product tremendously. Especially your new synergistic capsules. I have almost all of them! Thanks again! 💖

@UCYQ1JYbOmgcUUIJXHp3W7xA if you "went to school" you would know that plants have biological sexes. A vast majority are primarily female after pollination has occurred, others are fully male/female (many trees and fruits), and if you think it's odd to use the smell (terpenes/phenols etc) of a plant to keep bugs at bay you absolutely didn't go to school for anything as that is the primary reason plants create VOCs. From your user name though it's pretty obvious you're big into hallucinogenic substances which tend to give people God complex issues ie if someone knows something you don't your massive ego is triggered.

About 4 weeks, be mindful it won't be for internal use though 💜

Didn't realise how beneficial catnip is...
Well damn. Can you throw it in with some indica?
If I use the concentrated tincture to spray on me to keep mosquitos from biting me will it last longer than 15 minutes with the watered mixture?
I have tried & tried to grow it and my cats kill it every time

Can catnip still be used when pregnant?
Do you have to dry the leaves to make a tea ?
is cat nip & cat mint the same plant
This herb is very similar to valerian
Was that Wild Lettuce to the left of the Catnip?
