If you are ever feeling down, listen to this song. Listen to this song and look back to where you were 7 years ago and where you are now. You may not think it, but you have grown.
7 years ago my mom and sister walked out of my life forever following my mother's affair and told me I would die alone and no woman would ever love me. Now I'm married and own a house bigger than the one I grew up in 👍
The brightness of its star may have dimmed a bit, but when it came out in 1999 it was the 2nd biggest hit of the entire Disney renaissance. It remained the biggest earner Disney had for 14 years until Frozen came along.
This is what new Disney can't do right. Tarzan had amazing animation, a timeless story with relatable characters who had relatable struggles, cohesive storytelling with the right pacing and emotion and a sound track written by one of the greatest song writers of the generation. His music is not only catchy and memorable, but it tells the story just as much as the dialogue. Phil Collins blew this one away big time. Tarzan was a masterpiece
Phil is such a god level drummer. That little snare fill he puts constantly on this song is gives it so much energy, it's almost like Tarzan himself growing and running through the jungle.

Tarzan was prolly the best movie of my Childhood. I used to watch it over at my grandmas house, where I’d grab a Juice box as I sat on the carpet, while I’d watch the movie play 😝
Honesty, my all time favourite movie since my childhood. Legendary soundtrack by Phil Collins, The Cast, the storyline, and the characters. Till this day, this movie and soundtrack brings me joy and a bit of tears to my eyes. If you asked me to describe this movie, I couldn't fit it all in this box. This film once carried out many childhoods espically with my generation, and some of these music literally give sentimental meaning to my past experiences, and life. Pure legend of a film. Happy Birthday Phil, and thank you for creating this masterpiece.
Yup. And most of us don't ever reach our full potential because we're obsessed with politics and phones lol video games, too. I'm very guilty of that 🤣 but this song makes me want to work out and reach my full potential
@@supermichael9857 I think the fact that this movie wouldnt be the same without him *is* their point, since Tarzan is one of Disneys most iconic films and is part of their late 90s-early 2000s era, which is one of the primary hotbeds for modern Disney
Oh, the power to be strong And the wisdom to be wise All these things will come to you in time On this journey that you're making There'll be answers that you'll seek And it's you who'll climb the mountain It's you who'll reach the peak Son of Man, look to the sky Lift your spirit, set it free Some day you'll walk tall with pride Son of Man, a man in time you'll be Though there's no one there to guide you No one to take your hand But with faith and understanding You will journey from boy to man Son of Man, look to the sky Lift your spirit, set it free Some day you'll walk tall with pride Son of Man, a man in time you'll be In learning you will teach And in teaching you will learn You'll find your place beside the ones you love Oh, and all the things you dreamed of The visions that you saw Well, the time is drawing near now It's yours to claim in all Son of Man, look to the sky Lift your spirit, set it free Some day you'll walk tall with pride Son of Man, a man in time you'll be Son of Man, Son of Man's a man for all to see
The decision to have Phil Collins write and sing for the soundtrack was controversial at the time, but Disney wanted to move away from the movie musical format they felt had become formulaic. But the music really holds up well even decades later, and fits the movie's story and themes without the ridiculousness of having the characters themselves break into song. Collin's songs are catchy and never heavy-handed.

My favorite song from such an iconic film from my childhood, and what a Legendary track by Phil Collins. Like he really went full on out when it came to making the Tarzan soundtracks. Like you literally can't describe what this song means to me, and the soundtrack in general. Its something you don't explain, and something you have to feel. Amazing to see how fast time passes from when you were a kid all the way to now. A song that I always return too, and always listen too since my childhood. A song that literally defines my whole life. A song that acts for meaning in my life, inspiration after all I've been through, and the lyrics age like fine wine as time goes and I still take it to heart, a song that gives you so much emotion. Even to this day, I still look back to this iconic song and it always helps me out through difficult times, especially the amount of nostalgia it always leaves behind. The amount of many memories, that helps me keep going, that keeps my fighting going with pride as well as passion. How I wish I could go back, and relive those innocent days, or make change but we all go through life like a flash. I think the best lyric, and the one that I take too heart the most would be "O Though there's no one there to guide you, no one to take your hand But with faith and understanding, you will journey from boy to man." The lyrics to my life, with all I've been through, and as day by day goes, It gets better and better. Thanks Phil, Always my icon, and glad there's so many people that still listen to this underrated track these days.
