That is such a beautiful card. What is not to like...snow, cardinals, glitter, your stamps!!! Oh my. LOVE it!!! Also..soooo jealous of ALL the snow you are getting. TFS!!! Enjoy your snow!!!
Lindsay in 17 minutes I have learnt so many different techniques in one project, thank you from all us crafters who love to see you work your crafting magic on your video tutorials. :O)
"If you like this video, please give it a thumbs up." I LOVED this video. I need something more than a thumbs up to express that! And you were right about the snow stencil; even though you told us how amazing it was, I still had a quick intake of breath when I saw how gorgeous it turned out.
I bought both of these stamp sets the other day. I love that the birds are reversed and the trees are in different sizes as well. They are very thoughtfully designed. The card it great very pretty. I'm looking forward to using these stamps.
Wow!!! Sooo gorgeous!! (Its not a risk when you do it) You are amazing!! I think it will make a gorgeous Christmas card! Thank you so much for creating those beautiful stamps!!❤️
Love your new stamps! I got all 4 just because they all are so useful!!!! Picked up a few peg stamps too. Good things at the Rubber Stamp Tapestry site. Thanks for the great project inspiration! A fellow Northeasterner....
Love the application with the palette knife. Not sure if I'd ever have thought of applying that way. Looks so great! Wonderful finished work and grateful for the narrative! Cheers! :)
Great job! I love the fact that you tell people to use what they have and don't go buy stuff. I don't own any water color stuff, but I do own pastels. And I know how to make trees with a fan brush. (thanks to Rob Ross)
I agree, it is a really pretty card. So, you said you don't want us to feel we have to run out and buy all the stuff you used, but I really want to buy it all! I will just go pull out my stamps and see what I have before I go crazy purchasing stuff. Your stamp designs are beautiful. I like the tree stamps best. Can you design some detailed birds next?
Lindsay, I didn't know that there was any other way to design a card but "by the seat of my pants" so to speak. I usually have an idea about what I want it to look like, but going from point A to point B has a lot of paths that wander off course! That's why my craft table, the floor around it, my dining table, and most of the chairs at it are usually piled with stuff by the time I get done. Yes, I do keep one area at the dining table at which to eat. My home is small, no other place to craft but the dining area, but since I am alone, who cares. Loved the card, love your stamps. I have a complete set of pine tree stamps, so can't justify buying more, but I crave the other set. Plan on getting them as $$ permits. Pardon my long comments. I just have a lot to say!!
Omg this is super cute! Can you this texture paste with acrylics? I don’t know why I watch your videos because now I’m going to want to get into doing cards another obsession for me lol 😃
Question Question: I am sure somewhere over the years you have answered this question... but - after I paint a watercolor painting (done with watercolor pencils, if that makes a difference) and it has dried... what can I use to spray over it to seal it that won't reactivate the watercolor and make it run??? Thank you for answering my question... and thank you for freely teaching thousands of followers all around the world!!
I have bought some crayola watercolour pens (I think you used these in a video) to use for stamping as I didn't want to use a nice set of watercolour pens I have for other areas in my artistic world. On saying that... the Crayola are a lovely set of pens.
Going off the subject...I have used an embossing folder and used inking pad for the background while keeping the raised areas of the embossing white... How did I do that! Did I ink the embedded side of the folder ? I think perhaps I did...note to self when using new techniques make a note of what I did!
Masking tape ...this can ruin paper, I have also used the blue tape which seems a little less sticky.I have masking tape which I need to use and getting rid of most of the sticky by sticking it to other areas before laying it down. When removing the tape is it best to remove towards or away from your work?
Love this card and a big whoop whoop with the falling snow!!! QUESTION: Is there a difference with texture paste versus modeling paste? Purchased both at the Lobby with the big sale, but have no clue as to when would be the best time to play with one or the other. They feel the same??? BTW your stamp sets are beautiful!
not really, if you bought them from the same brand one is probably glossy and the other matte. I used a matte paste to get snow texture, glossy would be good for cake frosting for instance.
You said your favorite watercolor crayons where by Cran D'Ache. Are you talking about Neocolor II crayons? If I want to work with kids (ages 4 to 18) doing these types of techniques, do you think I should buy the cheaper Lyra crayons or let them use my Neocolors? The Lyra crayons look like they are much thicker than the Neocolors. I let kids use some of my supplies, but not all of them. I am only mostly good at sharing!
+Judith Taylor the Lyra's are so close in quality to caran dache but way cheaper. I teach adults with the Lyra's. My caran dache don't leave the house lol:)
I just got a pack of 200 9"x12" at sams club for $20 or if you want assorted sizes LTC commodities has a nice variety pack of 100 for 5, that is where I got my smaller ones.
You are probably fed up with this subject but!...Heat gun?I have watched videos where an hairdryer has been used on embossing powder...I have tried this but it didn't work...I think it was you who said an hairdryer will not work so I am waiting the arrival of my heat gun

When I see the white glitter and snow on a card it reminds me of those vintage German Christmas cards that are just so beautiful! this is just wow!
"If you like this video, please give it a thumbs up." I LOVED this video. I need something more than a thumbs up to express that! And you were right about the snow stencil; even though you told us how amazing it was, I still had a quick intake of breath when I saw how gorgeous it turned out.

You make that all look soooooo easy. I can see it in my head but can't get it transferred from there to my paper.
Bonnie Lipke Soo true!!

Thanks. I will definitely be buying the Lyra. And now I feel better about not sharing everything!
Are watercolour crayons more intense than say pencils or watercolour pens?
YELS YELS If you are looking for intense, try the Inktense pencils from Derwent. They are actually ink but go on like watercolor. I love mine!
I bet you are glad I am never able to take part in your live videos lol
Love that card. I've been looking for that stencil but have not found it - the problem with living in a small Canadian city!
I'm from Central Alberta, where are you?
Chatham, Ontario
Your stamps are unmounted.... Do you use them that way or do they have to be put on a foam mat?
DO YOU HAVE a hack for lamination pockets? They are so expensive. Thank you.
I just got a pack of 200 9"x12" at sams club for $20 or if you want assorted sizes LTC commodities has a nice variety pack of 100 for 5, that is where I got my smaller ones.
😮
You are probably fed up with this subject but!...Heat gun?I have watched videos where an hairdryer has been used on embossing powder...I have tried this but it didn't work...I think it was you who said an hairdryer will not work so I am waiting the arrival of my heat gun
+YELS YELS ranger makes a heat gun that looks like a hairdryer but it is not. It has lots of heat but little wind.
how you going to sell that for two bucks after all that effort ?
First lol
