The level of detail you add to everything is amazing. Something specific like street heaters for a cold weather adds so much depth to the setting. Really impressive stuff.
Thank you! I need to get back to making the video about how I came up with the city for this season. Maybe that will shine some light on how I set up the maps and why 🤔
Lovin the show, the worldbuilding and the type of video. Really good stuff. If its a mining world, I envision them testing some new type of deep core mining technique, obviously a Focused Fractal Non-Linear Laser Lens. In testing the components for it, they opened up into a previously enclosed part of the planets crust, and found a few... organic samples. Clearly, they wanted to know what properties these samples had, and, well it turns out the Protoplasmic Compounds had the ability to break down minerals, but it was also the early lifecycle of a previously unknown creature from a secluded ecosystem. Turns out Teenager Gooeye is 'Proprietary Patent Pending'... Lookin forward to episode 2, stay cool!
I love the episode and enjoy the mix of storytelling, crunch and miniatures. Th only drawback is that the sound is a bit low. For the next time it's sure that this lab was trying to engineer perfect and cheap worker but the result is not a real success.
I'm glad you liked it! I'm still getting used to the format and the rules, but was a fun! Thanks for the feedback. I'll keep an eye on the audio. I think I may have drowned my voice with the music and effects. And manufacturing cheap workers? Oh boy, sounds like a very evil corporation thing to do! I'll check the Fate Charts on this one :)
@@veiledspace If you want some ballpark figures to shoot for, keep your spoken dialogue around -12dB to -6dB (for the peaks) and your effects & music about 6-10dB lower than that, around -18dB. That said, this target is a holdover from broadcast, where they actually have, you know, LAWS that govern these things, and a lot of digital content stuff is just cranked all the way up to like -3 to 0dB, which is why some video are So. Dang. Loud.
I’m not sure if you enjoyed making this new format of video, but I ABSOLUTELY loved this! The showcasing of games/resources, your thought processes, and the goo!! As for potential plot idea, I def wouldn’t consider myself a sci-fi writer. What if the fluids that Shen Nung is collecting and we’ve seen throughout 5 Parsecs is some kind of bio material that is being processed/refined from this locked down facility. There could be countless reptilian vats in the rooms to come that got out of control(classic sci-fi move) or some kind of seeing the hotdogs be made like with Futurama’s Slurm… 🤢
Thanks! It's a bit weird to be on camera and doing this on the go, and I'm still getting used to the rules, but it was a fun experience. I feel like it got better as the game goes on and I get more comfortable with it, though my brain something goes faster than my mouth speaking English, and I end up stumbling on some words. And thanks for the ideas! I'll check the Fate Chart as I play the next time! I love Futurama and I often mention that episode hahah In fact, I have a reference to that in the novel I'm working on now (Yes, more stories on the way :D)
What an awesome installment! Loving the expanding universe covering other game systems. Can't wait to see what awaits in the bowels of the complex! Whatever is going on down there, and there are some great ideas in the comments already, I suspect there might be some surviving corporate crew who know more than we do and are desperate to control the situation... and anyone who finds out about the situation!
Oooh surviving people? Sounds intriguing. Did they corporation know they were trapping people inside, I wonder? I'll make sure to ask the Oracles when the time comes! Thanks
This was actually an interesting way of doing this Really liked your use of camera changes (not sure if my terminology is correct) Either way it was an incredibly entertaining and enjoyable video
It is just amazing watching all the tables and aids I also have to SOLO making it into a video. Love the RandomTables and Mythic. I think that I would prefer Ironsworn:STARFORGED but for the Hopepunk feel. Albeit for the opressive games, MOTHERSHIP IS QUEEN.
Thanks! It's pretty fun, and those tools help a lot. I'll eventually do Starforged again, but I wanted to try mothership and a horror game. But worry not! I'll get to starfoged eventually 🙂
Sounds like how most horror movies would end if the protagonists were real people :D "What? Go into this mysterious alien spaceship full of dead bodies? No, thanks. I'll go back home. Bye!"
Arden has to proceed the other 2 pretty much know nothing of this operation just what is expected of them Arden on the other hand is pretty much being forced by the company say it's the only way off the planet for him or it could make him wildly rich but whatever it is he is desperate and the other 2 don't know this yet there basically on a need to know but as there lives become under threat they demand information or they will simply leave
I started watching from the beginning last month. You kind of jumped the shark when you switched from 5 Parsecs to Mothership/Notorious. I'm still watching but don't know that I am really following the story. I will stop watching for now and will read the book in hopes that I can see where everything fits in.
Thanks for watching, Cole! For me, experimenting with different games and different storytelling forms is what keeps me making these videos despite the cost and time it takes. In this case, it's also about trying something as the opportunity comes (the whole crew almost dying in that mission) A few months ago, I actually held a poll asking what people would like to see, and Mothership was by far the winner. But don't worry. Mothership is already done with 3 episodes.
@@veiledspace Not just Mothership, but Notorious as well. It might make it easier for me (maybe others)if there was a reel that showed the rules you were using. So I could follow what was going on on screen.
@colerape in that case, it's more like I'm making those those rules as I go 😅 it's a new thing I'm making using 5 Parsecs and Notorious. If things work out, I'll get it published somehow once I feel like it works. But that's a good feedback! I'll keep it in mind for the next one. Thanks!
