I was once delivering something to Dunc's house, I had an old Everton top on and honestly hadn't realised that Mr. Ferguson was THE Mr. Ferguson.
I was totally gobsmacked, Dunc made me and my mate a brew, he said my old top was *****ed, he disappeared and came back with a brand new one. He signed it and I still have it. LEGEND!
He’s a top bloke, he used to stop as he left Newcastle’s training ground and give the kids who’d wait at the gate all his kit
Did he then throw you out through the window after you'd finished your drink? If not, then he's going soft.
Big Dunc was the man.
Gutted it never worked out at Rangers, he was treated like a pariah up in Scotland after what happened.
Nice 1. X
@@ID-pw8zb ye he couldn't even get into the masons
It was a massive disappointment when I realised this video wasn't going to be 5 minutes of Ferguson and Keane going head to head.
Keane never stepped out of line when up against Ferguson. No one did and understandably.
That would only end one way
Keane used to bully weaker players but he backed off vs real tough ones like Big Dunc and Vinnie
That would never last 5 minutes. Duncan would have ripped Keane's head clean off in seconds.
@Paddy le Blanc 1993/1994 Fifth round FA Cup Man United vs Wimbledon… perfect example 🤣😂.
As much as I like and respect Keane as a united fan, Duncan Ferguson operated on a different hard man level.
Psycho level.
Big thick stirling man - blundering bafoon. Big fish small pond. Got away with so much because he had no international career. Keane was a legend
Keane had small man syndrome

Im a Charlton fan and i remember Big Dunc elbowing Hermann Hraidarsson and knocking him clean out and then protesting his innocence! No one booed him, we all clapped! What an elbow!!
How intelligent
Pair of cunts!
Lmao what an elbow chaps
Apparently Dunc was on the bench getting angrier and angrier cos Herman thought he was hard, so Dunc just wanted to put him in his place 😂
Love this comment 😂😂
Keane was undoubtedly a very hard man but Duncan Ferguson was at a completely different level to any footballer of his generation and perhaps ever. An absolute beast.
Billy "Tight Shirt" Whitehurst would have knocked them both out at the same time......if you ever get the chance to ask either Roy or Dunc if they'd have had a pop at Billy....you'll get the answer!
D F was no more than a well paid thug, who had no business on a football pitch!
@@cg7025 I remember Alan Hansen mentioning Whitehurst in his book. He said he'd always check the fixtures with whatever club he was playing for cos he said he was a nightmare to play against. He was definitely a crazy fella. It wasn't just on the pitch I agree definitely very hard.

Love it. Everyone asks who was the hardest...Ferguson or Keane...tough guy Keane. Obviously. Look at the first 25 seconds.
Big Duncan a very rare breed that will never be seen again, every player in the clip would be in the top 3 list of hardmen who have played with or against and they didn't want any trouble with big dunc. Makes us Scottish proud
Course not can't be doing any of this in football nowdays bunch of fluffs they all are. The game has been ruined.

Peter Thanks for your reply. Now go fuck yourself
lmao!! COYB!!
You lousy wanker.
Keane is that hard, Beckham held him back from Shearer, 😂😂😂
Keane was clever he could get in peoples heads. Underrated player and captain.
He was hard obviously but he knew how to play as well, great striker 👍
Two men tried to burgle Duncan Ferguson's home and one of them got put in hospital, Duncan the clear winner.
thaich33 I just told a pal that story!! Spot on I remember it
Fuck knows what happened with the other one!
+ thaich33
He's under the patio !!
I remember Ally Mc Coist telling that story on Question of Sport, and he said he couldn't believe Big Dunc caught one of the burglars, because he wasn't very quick! Then Ally said "mind you the burglar was carrying Duncs fridge"
But to be fair burglars burglars are usually skinny smack heads.
Paul Ince fancied himself as tough in his day and he was as tough as Keane was vicious. But Ferguson could have leathered both of them at the same time. Brilliant to see his passion being used more usefully now. He has a big heart.
The governor until big dunc literally threw him on to the ground

A fight between the two would go something like this: Keane would try to take his knees out while Dunc had his back to him... if Dunc didn't stay down, Keane would run like hell away. This isn't even worth discussing... Dunc would destroy him.
It’s not about them fighting each other it’s just showing how hard they tackled
keane was an actual trained boxer
I think Steve Bruce said in his book that Keane didn’t want to mark Big Dunc during corners. Plus when working for ITV Keane himself admitted that he was scared of Big Dunc and used to avoid him.
Keane would mark anybody if need be.
Ferguson was marked by Gary Pallister not Keane.

Keane never actually fought in football matches because he understood if he did there would have been very long bans for him.
No body attempted to fight keane because he would have taken their heads off and he knew and they knew it.
Big hard Ferguson would not even take on Bosnich when challenged.
@@bighands69 I'm a lifelong boxing fan and anyone in a boxing gym finds it laughable that these guys are thought of as hard men. Against even an amateur boxer they'd get taken apart very quickly in a fist fight. Ferguson's fine against burglars or other footballers because like him they have no fighting skills.
my favourite is supposed English hardman Paul Ince get up quickly to confront who threw him down like a doll, then acted all friendly when he realised it was big Dunc.
Two Legends Of The Game
Most of Keane’s tackles were either from behind or coming in on the opponent’s blind side, real tough guy.

Yep agree. Keane is just a sneaky pos. Duncan on the other hand is a real bloke that served up justice to those that pestered him.

Duncan was a real tough guy on and off the pitch. Keano was a pitch warrior
I love Big Dunc and still remember his last game for us against the Baggies when he scored a penalty (poorly!). Whilst he was underrated in his abilities with his feet (most of his iconic goals for us were headers), and his injuries were completely mismanaged by the club - cortisone injections with back problems because we had such a paper thin squad we couldn’t be without him. Unfortunately for me he will never qualify as a legend for me, as too many times, when we needed him, the red mist descended and he was suspended for crucial games. I’m glad he’s now at the club as a coach as he can impart true passion and what it means to be a Blue to our players, without causing too much trouble!!
Re Keane - Ferguson would wig him all over the place. Skilled player, but a snidey b@stard. At least if Dunc was annoyed by you he’d just punch you in the gut!! 😂
I'm a Liverpool fan and I love Big Dunc, the guy literally gave not a single fuck! Hardest player i've ever seen, he's got that rage inside him, when the switch flicks he is a pure animal and there is nothing that an stop him. But he's a lovely guy too, proper gent to the Everton fans
It's mad as well cause he's an actual good footy player but the tough guy image over looks it
Never seen Keane giving much away to Ferguson saw Paul mc grath handle him like he was a child think he stood out at Everton but not many other clubs were keen to buy him
Ferguson was a beast!!!
It's crazy to see how much the modern game has changed
Ferguson would give people the odd dig now and then.
But Keane was a leg breaker.
He ended several careers.
Whereas big Dunc, didn't.
He just wouldn't take shit off anyone.
Keane was shit scared of Dunc.
Which makes Dunc the clear winner.
Yes he was angry.
Yes he punched people.
But he wouldn't break your legs.
He'd just throw you aside.

@Andrew Clavin Alf Inge Haaland. Keane was apparently proud of that one.
@@ponkazz7 is that the same alfie haaland that played the rest of the match after Keane kicked him? the same Haaland that played 4 days later for Norway in a 2-1 victory over bulgaria? the same Haaland that played 3 days after that, and got an assist for Shaun Goater in a 1-0 victory over West Ham? the same Haaland that played the rest of the season, and into the next? the same Haaland that retired from ligament damage to his LEFT knee, the one that was already heavily strapped and was injured months before..... To say that he is proud of that tackle shows what an irresponsible moron he really is.
I cannot for the life of me understand the huge number of posts in here ‘celebrating’ the thugs that both these players were. ‘Hard man’ my arse - disgrace is what they were, and that officials in that era gave yellows for some of the assaults on fellow pros is preposterous.

Keane would destroy Duncan in a fight.
Look at the way Duncan is revered at Everton regarded as a legend. Every time he put on a blue shirt he wanted to win ,players now just play for the wonga, he played for pride. Players today need to take a leaf out of Duncans book and the gamewould be alot better. As far as the hardest Furguson would do to Keane what Bellew did to Haye,Nuff said
Keane was Dirty, Duncan went out to win every time, no contest, no fear.
WaketheTown you say that but when you compare what they both actually ‘won’ during their respective careers.....
Oldmanchainetc, what they won was due to the teams they played for and it is teams that win titles and cups not individual players but you were correct when you say Dirty player Keane won more in a career where he was surrounded by Man U greats, anyway interesting name and nice pic, bye.
WaketheTown Keene was surrounded by better quality players because he himself was a player of that quality. Water always finds its level and Ferguson’s level was far below that of Keanes. One player was a world class combative midfielder, the other wasn’t.
Keane was bought because of his disruptive qualities, was he good at getting under other players skin ?, yes and probably world class at that role but he was still a dirty player where as Duncan played with more heart than brain..
@@wakethetown3171 There are many games Keane played great football.
