    Not to ruin the party here but the low beam H11 LED bulb is a mess, the halogen looked brighter and wider. This is common issue with LED bulbs. I suggest you get an h11b HID kit with canbus cancellers. I have these on my 2018 Ford Ranger and its the best setup Ive had so far. The cut off of the stock projectors work well with HID as the beam pattern is wide with good cutoff.

    • @CloughReviews
      @CloughReviews  5 лет назад

      Agreed that the HID would be better, disagree that the original, 8 candle power halogens looked brighter (because if they did, I'd have swapped back), but you have the additional cost and additional complications of fitting. However, I am now considering.....

    • @504yaj
      @504yaj 5 лет назад

      @@CloughReviews yeah you are probably right but the stock ones make use of the wide beam pattern vs the LEDs so they appear better to me. The HID though is miles brighter and has a hint of blue in the cutoff which gives it an oem look

    Dear,
    I’ve seen you made the same mistake as me.
    The issue you overlooked (as me) is inside the bulb, in the design of the high beam strand. If you look inside of the original h15 bulb, you will see a small reflective part below the high beam strand. The efect of it is to reflect high beam light to upside and avoid the light going to the sides.
    Just the bulbs you (and me) installed doesn’t send the light to up, only to sides. The efect is to have a beam scattering for the high beam.
    At the moment all LED bulbs with this small reflector have a big size due the fan and/or other cooling systems.
    If you look for offers of LED H15 with DLR/High Beam and find someone so small to fit in the bulb holder, please, let me know. If I find and test it, I will let you know.
    Thanks for this great video.

    How is it work from the last few months? Since daylight was working all the time with no fan heat sink, have you faced with over-heat problem? Have you check condition of housing & cap whether it is still fine after months? Is there any problem you have after changed? Thank you.

      Hi Atsawin, no problem with the bulbs working during the day as they run on reduced power on daylight, full power on full beam. The housing is fine. It's a shame you can't fit a bulb with a heat sink as it would be brighter but the white light is good 👍😁

For H15 I would recommend these www.hids4u.co.uk/H15-HIDS4U-Stealth-35W-Xenon-HID-Conversion-Kit.html in a 5000k, the downside being come MOT time you will need to swap them over to halogen.

    Your wrong mate led lights actually blind the shit out of oncoming traffic compared to the normal halogens. They also fatigue your eyes alot quicker and reflect off road signs majorly, making vision squinty

      Not arguing the LED point in general. However, the lights on the Ranger are so shit, that certainly in this case, these LED's are a lot better than the halogens. Bright white wins over dull yellow every time.......

      @@CloughReviews That would be because they are not E-Marked and approved for fitment into a halogen housing so is contrary to Road Vehicle Lighting Regulation.

      Well it's at least fortunate that they do the job then. Shame Ford didn't design a better headlight assembly where you could fit decent bulbs in, or to that end, a decent light assembly that actually lights the road in front of you period...….

      @@CloughReviews Oh I agree that the stock lights on the Ranger are a pile of crap but they can't legally be modified, the ranger 2019 facelift at least has HID now.

      @@CloughReviews I agree, the factory h11 bulps are a joke. When I got mine 2 weeks ago, I really stepped out of the vehicle to check if the bulps are on at all. Replaced mine (WT 2018) with 150%+ h11 bulps immediately. much better. I also thought about using led-replacements, but since you loose your vehicle type approval, you might get into some serious issues (insurance company might refuse to pay) if involved in an accident and someone finds out about the led. Only hope is the 2019 American Ranger (xenon) or the 2019 global facelift with hid.
