I really appreciate how gradually you introduce the topic, and also how you started out with "things you should already know before you dive into these open voicings" (scales, inversions, circle of fifths). I like the shortcut of how to find the next key in the cycle. Very valuable and clearly taught lesson -- thanks!
Superb! Thanks!
Please make more tutorial about jazz piano like this for beginners
Takes me back to my college days - When teaching, I'd ask students to break-up practice time for scales, chords, reading basic songs, and composition... Keeping things fun! Thanks Tony & Cheers from Seattle! 🍻 BTW, I was fortunate to have an old school Chicago blues/jazz instructor
I agree with the other commentor concerning the prerequisites for the lesson. It's all so orderly and informative.
Please add Turkish language to "Automatic Subtitles" section. Your lessons are amazing. I want to understand better. Unfortunately my English is not good.
Valuable efforts, thanks Maestro
Great Tony, thank you!
What can I say? Of all the things I learned (and I'm still learning...) from your lessons, Open Voicings are among those I'm most grateful for (together with Ruthless Chords). And practicing in the 12 keys makes everything so damn long and demanding but it's also so fruitful... personally it gave me a confidence I never had before. And I also stole from you the habit of testing my readiness by playing every 4, every 3, every 2 and every beat (instead than barely increasing metronome speed), as you show at the beginning of the video 😊... a great week to you, Maestro, and to everybody 😊.
Thanks ! We all can relate to reviews of the basics! You’re the best!
Great teacher always
Thanks toney
Profesor, excelente, más que excelente, maravilloso, maravilloso lección, muchas gracias, DIOS lo bendiga, saludos cordiales desde Lima-Perú 🇵🇪
I was looking for these info for YEARS! Thanks Tony. Now I know what and how to work. May seems like an elephant to eat, but let's eat it one bite at a time. Also, thanks for the hand positions tricks, priceless for beginners.
Muy buemno gracias 🙂
Haha I saw Introduction and though the "intro" and was gonna say thats Streisand's part
Great lesson ! Thank you tony !
Can i request Born to be blue (in C)?
here: ruclips.net/video/xWs_R0m0__w/видео.html
Hello, would it be more reasonable to practice minor 7th chords starting from the relative minor of C? Meaning that we can start from Am, Dm, Gm, Cm etc till we reach Am again.
Make sense to me!
Ted called those "Drillshits", among other colorful terms. :)
I saved 5 years of lesson assignments...priceless
Voicings and tension formulas link isn't working. I would like to get started on this asap. Great video
It should work on a laptop. I'll provide new links that should work on your phone.
I changed the links, they should work now
@@TonyWinston thanks so much Tony. You're the best
