@@TaureanReignReloaded I had to double check that and damn, that was a productive year 😂 Well the second Ace Ventura was released in 1995, but still a very productive 90's for Jim 😅

Jim Carrey is one of my most favorite people in the world. He makes me laugh, he can make me cry and he's an artist. If I could hang out with any celebrity it would 100% be him

What a lot of people dont know is that when Carrey was filming the Grinch, he was on the back lot of universal studios and next to the "Physco House", During breaks in filming, he got dressed up as Norman in the dress, and would run out down the front path of the house when ever a Tour-Tram came past, scaring the occupants.
One of my favorite actors, ever. Even back on In Living Color. And Rick Moranis was the first choice for Ace Ventura. I mean....seriously? Thank God we got the right man

The most annoying sound in the world has been my ring tone for my mom forever. Since her passing last Christmas I use it for everyone. As a remembrance to her
The Grinch is the ONLY live-action movie Dr. Seuss widow in any way approves of last I heard. Like he did such a great job, it captured the character perfectly. The suit he had to wear was so bad, took so long to put on and take off, got so hot, he ALMOST quit, but toughed it out. So he is doing all of this on a hot soundstage, doing multiple takes, while literally risking his life and sanity to get in character. Jim never "dropped off" as much as took a break, went on some self-discovery, had a lot of fun, enjoyed life, in a way because he hated a lot of what they kept trying to pitch to him, and because he wasn't in the spotlight, he stepped back, and much like Eminem, took care of things in his life, before coming back stronger than ever.
Jim Carrey is one of those actors where you get him to do the scene as it is scripted on paper, then you let him do 20 more takes of the same scene and go completely off the books. Because in about 90% of those times, you will get a scene that is actually better than the original. Robin Williams, rest his soul, was the exact same type of actor. In the more comedic movies that he starred in, the director would have Robin do the scene as it was scripted and then do about 10 or so more takes of the same scene, but just let Robin add his own spin to it. In about 98% of those cases, the unscripted scene made it into the film because it was infinitely better and a lot more funnier than the actual one. One of the best examples I could give is the Aladdin movie. They had Robin do the entire Genie part as it was scripted and when he was done, they just told him to cut lose. From the way I understand it, there is about 8 hours of recorded off-the-cuff Robin that had everyone rolling on the floors laughing and a lot of it made it into the movie. Sadly, there are just not many comedians out there that can measure up to the way Jim and Robin are and we should all be thankful for them.
Damn Miss Mojo is fly LOL....seriously though Carrey's strength has always been improv, so the fact that he had this many is not surprising. In regards to his career being over, I think it was the fact he was so big for so long that any lower level would be considered a decline.
Not only comedy as you said he has range! When he played Andy Cauffman in Man in the Moon or The Truman Show. He also was in a dark movie filmed in Europe, heard it was good. Again range.
Huge fan Fam! I'm not sure if you've done anything by Pete Holmes....hilarious....but he has a skit of Batman vs. Superman that is awesome sauce. If you've seen that, he also has the X-men getting fired by Prof X, and Street Fighter HR meetings. All had me rolling with tummy aches.
At a time when BET and stereotypes Jim Carry was the first "white guy" on the BET's hit show ILC and helped it cross boundaries it would have other wise struggled with during those times. Would have loved to see him and Robin Williams get together in a movie that would have been gold
