In my region (KPK Pakistan) if you recite in maqam Kurd people might misinterpret it as mocking holy verses which could lead to negative consequences such as being beaten up
@@sherko1187 The style and melody of this maqam is actually similar to the style of singing traditional songs. People might think you are composing songs from holy verses instead of reciting them as very few are familiar with maqamat in my region
Salam, There are many verses that tell us to read Quran in a way to understand it, and recitation with maqam is not a way to understand. Some of the verses: Yunus 10/57: O people, advice has come to you from your Lord and a healing for what is in the chests, and a guidance and a mercy for the believers. Zuhruf 43/3: We have made it into an Arabic compilation, perhaps you may understand. Fussilet 41/44: And had We made it a non-Arabic revelation, they would have said: "If only its verses were made clear!" Non-Arabic and Arabic, say: "For those who believe, it is a guide and healing. As for those who disbelieve, there is deafness in their ears, and they are blind to it. These will be called from a place far away."

Salaam, Do we understand the meaning of the Quran when it is recited with maqam? No, we don't. Why did Allah send us Quran? In order that we understand the messages and live accordingly. So why are we reciting with maqam? Because they wanted us not to understand it. Think of it please, and read Quran in your own language, understand the messages and apply them in your life.
Please listen to ustadh's explanation. Yes, we all have to understand and apply the Quran in our lives. But beautiful and creative recitations have special effects to our hearts and emotional reactions.
I think recitation of Quran with maqam is not right. Everybody recites Quran with maqam and does not understand anything. Otherwise Quran would not be the most recited but the least understood book. Reading and understanding Quran is well enough to give peace in our souls. Maqam can be used for musical productions for emotional needs, but not for Quran recitation.

@@bilgekhan7781 If you watch some of his other videos, he explains how different Maqams can be used to express the tone/emotions of the verses. It can help you understand better what Quran is telling you if you recite it in a similar tone as the meaning of the verse. I, who do not understand arabic that well, find it useful to be more connected with the verses when they are recited in a manner that conveys the emotion of the verses.
Also the verses you are mentioning don't say anything about the use of maqams. How can one understand the meaning of verses if you recite in monotone or same tone throughout?
