I think most of us both .. the bullies and the bullied. Most of my younger coworkers think I’m really mean, but I’m not coming at them with insults or vitriol. My exact words were this “just because you know we’re coming to help you doesn’t mean you stop working and leave the rest of your job for us to do. We’re here to help you, not do it for you “. The girl quit and said I was a “mean girl”
Lol omg! 😂 Ppl mistake being transparent, affirmative and open with “being mean or bitchy”. I miss that directness we use operate with. We are now responsible for everyones feelings all of a sudden.
I did it. I bullied. I was bullied. But yeah. But I stopped, and became hyper-aware of it after I pushed my friends away after my mother died. I didn't want closeness for a long time after that. That was basically my bully swan song.
I think as long as we are aware of it. Someone told me that I was creating a false dichotomy by saying we were one or the other or both at the same time. I disagree, during those times we ALL participated in bullying culture whether we liked it or not. We all watched movies, ads, laughed at jokes etc that would not be acceptable today. It was just how it was. I mean, Soul Man was a hit movie once upon a time. They played it in my 4th grade class at the end of the year and we "all" laughed wholeheartedly.

@@artandalchemyparfum any difference of opinion or disagreement is seen as “mean girl” or bully… so annoying!!
As a 1st yr gen x - I don’t think that the term bully was used a lot back then. It’s just what people did.

I. NEVER RELISHED IN IN IT
GenX was like living in a real life Lord of the Flies simulation. You were either the fat kid with glasses or the rich brat.
I was bullied from elementary through high school until I turned around Ave finally told the kid bullying me leave me the fuck alone
This is a false dichotomy. Logical fallacy.
