California Highway 1 - Pacific Coast Highway scenic drive. We begin at Point Mugu and head 35 miles south along the California coast through Malibu, Los Angeles and Santa Monica. Along the way we stop and soak up gorgeous views of the coast and the Santa Monica Pier.
This scenic drive was filmed in early December.

The east and west coastlines are two worlds apart. the west coastline is more scenic with hills,forests and mountains while the entire east coastline is just flat from Maine down to Florida.

It's always a pleasure to see you. The editing while waiting at a traffic light is especially wonderful. It's been a while since I saw a video of the West Coast road, so it was very refreshing.
Japan also has a road along the coast called "Shonan," but it is short and is a toll road.

20:25 Nice view of Santa Catalina Island in the distance. Haven't been there since I was on a whale watching expedition with my Girl Scout troop back in the mid 1970s.

It’s always a treat driving PCH, especially on a nice sunny day. Very cool to see whales in the ocean off the coast too. We stopped at Seal Beach a couple years ago farther north up the coast and that was really cool to see all the seals so close up.
