This was my life 8 years ago. I missed everything. Nobody was there to tell me what to do. But not you, you will do better than me. Today, you can make a difference. Don't let your actual life slide in between your hands. Grab it and work hard for an incredible future. This is true happiness, this is purpose.

dont agree here, if you change yourself, you automatically are becoming more communicable, from my experience. But its not only from the experience but overall changing yourself means that you are changing your habits, and sooner or later people will start approaching you. It looks like cliché, and it is to some extend, however the main idea that people will start approaching you after the change is true. Almost no one will ever try to speak with smelly creepy weirdo, however if you are outstanding at at least one field, you can become more approachable.

Ah yes the same movies where they cast 30 year olds to play and act as teenagers. Where every interaction is scripted and there's a main character Gary Stu Or Mary Sue whose development which usually takes years of work happens overnight. Because of those movies, I've struggled with my self esteem for years until my early twenties because I thought looking like a 30 year old hunk while being 16-17 was totally the norm. Are we also talking about those same movies that started validating weakness and fragility while preaching the message that a 'nerd' is cool?
Not saying that it isn't cool though but Hollywood made it seem like being a nerd equals being ugly and that you should expect people to like you for your personality alone. In real life, that doesn't happen if you don't put any effort in your appearance. So in essence, if you want to make some noticeable change, you can start by ignoring Hollyweird and start living life.

    Great video, as always.
I can relate to this on so many levels.... until the end.
When I entered HS, it was not in my local area, so I didn't know anyone.
When I tried to make new friends, I was shunned b/c of many superficial reasons.
Not the right haircut / drip / interests / ect..
But the day that made the most impact was when I realized that I was not 'one of them'
I didn't want to emulate them, b/c that would mean Id betrayed my true self.
I am happy to see that Wojack found a way to be accepted by his peers,
but I am also glad that in the end, I didn't sell-out to become someone I wasn't, just to fit in with people that I honestly didn't find very interesting, and definitely not sincere; to themselves nor others.
First you need to be happy with who you are, then you can decide who you want as friends.
I just wish more people would have found this truth earlier in life.
So many people are still living a lie, and thus, always feeling inadequate.

This whole video was good vibes man. Made me tear up a little bit, ngl.
I had some friends later in high school because of pursuing guitar and singing. That passion shined to everyone who saw it and it saved me from drowning in isolation and loneliness. For those of you that are struggling, find something productive to obsess with. It doesn't have to be hitting the weights, it can be music, art, dancing, boxing, skating etc. My obsession with music landed me in so many interesting situations even up into my 20s and I met some incredible people who I will probably be friends with until I die. I thank God I didn't completely waste my youth. Living the office life nowadays doesn't seem so bad knowing that I have truly lived and loved and lost.
Anyways, take care my friends. If you see something you don't like about yourself, be honest with yourself and put in the work to make the change. Find your passion, for that is the treasure of your heart. It's all worth it, even if you lose it all... because at least you can say you gave it your best shot!!!

This reminds me of my last years of high school. I made a lot of changes, I started to dress differently, I started to work out and get a haircut and ultimately my social life changed, too. But I soon realized that the new so called friends were not really friends and really superficial. We never really had deep conversations and they didn't really know the real me at all. We just went to a lot of partys together. There was one guy in this friend group that was a real friend to me. When he didn't have time to go to a party, most of the time I didn't go either. Probably because deep down I didn't really feel comfortable with the other "friends". At some point the "real" friend stabbed my back which was a very terrible time for me. I continued to go out with the other guys from that friend group for a while but it was terrible. They started to take drugs and it became so bad that they couldn't go on a party without touching that shit. I was basically babysitting them so they wouldn't do any stupid shit while they were on. One day I just blocked their contacts all together because I didn't want to be part of it anymore. I wanted a new start. I ended up being lonely followed by many years of severe depression.
I don't even know what I am trying to say here...lol... I hope you didn't expect a happy ending here.

You said this because you felt like it and it will help people be open minded about people they are with. Your not alone I know some people in a sort of similar place. I found out it's not all about looking good and making a better impression on yourself instead it's about people who you talk to and can rely on and help you and be down to earth with and trust. You can still meet new people out there mate that you can trust its just about finding the right person/people which isnt easy but you can.

I sympathize with this video because of the way it shows that by changing your mindset, and starting endulge in habits that benefit your mental health, will in fact make your life "better", but perhaps having a different perspective on this subject will also be useful, it's true that wojak made the right decision in starting to lift weights and searching for help to remove his acne, although the fact that the "popular people" in his school who used to treat him disgracefully, started to have interest in him after his physical appearance looked better, tells me that something is off, if this situation actually occurred the way it did in real life, I don't even think that wojak would know how to talk to his "new friends", they would've gotten tired of him eventually because the lack of personality traits, and if he is disciplined and intelligent enough to go to the gym consistently and take care of himself in many other ways, he should completely sh*t on those people who treated him in such a disgusting way, he got influenced by his desires, and not by his knowledge, he should know better than what he did, in conclusion, you should be friends with somebody who talks to you because the way you behave, because of how funny they find you to be and because if the mutual respect that you have to each other, of course you should go to the gym, and take good care of yourself, but perhaps to attract more attractive sexual partners or even feeling good about yourself , not to make friends, overall I think this video is really shallow, you could've put some more tough into it

I was exactly the same! My last year of school (2014) was meant to be the best year of my life, but I had no friends. Every weekend it was someone's 18th and I never got invited to any (well, there was one but only getting invited to one party hardly counts). It was like I didn't even exist. Having to see everyone on social media having so much more fun than me really stuck the knife in too.
On top of that, I actually got put in a very special needs class that year. There was only 7 of us and we were "the retards".
9 years later, and to be honest things haven't improved that much. I have a lot of acquittances but no close friends, no social circle and have still never had a girlfriend and I'm still a virgin.

Also one important thing, my school life wasn't so good.. but now, in university, I try so hard to catch up those lost years, and all can I say, I'm really doing this, I enjoy this life, this university, this time, I'm very lucky with my classmates(not classmates, don't know how it's in english, sorry, I believe you understand), luck is 50% of "success", I mean it, and then try to do your best, don't be introvert(I am, but try to reveal my better side), go more often with guys, speak, don't always sit at home and everything will be fine, and I wish this 50% of luck to you:)🤝.

I really think this sends the wrong message though. Don't try and be like the popular kids, instead be yourself. Everyone finds enjoyment in different things. Going the gym works for some, but not not for all. Being yourself is something truly great, however most will only realize this later in life and in the meantime are desperate to just fit in. Do the things you enjoy, no matter how weird others might find them. Wear the clothes you like, even though nobody else is wearing anything like it. You will find friends who accept you for who you are soon enough.

Yeah. This also applies to people who just want to be left alone. I kept trying to make friends before realizing I damn sure don’t fucking need anyway. Just read a book rarely, do good in school, get a good job, do minimum exercise, and be clean. You don’t need friends, depending on the type of person you are. Most people, admittedly, do, but I believe it’s possible for some genetic change to drift humans away from a social creature, though I don’t think that would apply to me. Just be happy.

I feel like I went on this journey for myself in highschool, I lost a lot early on in highschool family wise and had a big move so I wasn’t exactly in the best shape weighing in at around 300 pounds and having severe depression in the 9th grade. It took the pandemic and me putting myself out there online and just being myself with everyone for me to start developing these meaningful relationships. After a while I started reflecting this change in my real life, and the intuition I had developed from a long time of social isolation from childhood to around 10th grade. When we got back in school after the lockdowns I really made action on this new mindset, and made a lot of good friends; while learning a lot about myself. My school was one of the most diverse in my city but overall the school was in bad shape due to issues plaguing the area , so we were a pretty gritty school and that shit just made me stronger, I had to be myself there. It worked out really well for me and I’d recommend it, because I’m young right now I’m still young and by using these skills I got from the online conversations I’m closer to my dreams then ever I got my weight under control for the first time in my life I’ve made lifelong friends I’ve proved to myself I can stand my ground yo. It’s really just a matter of taking that first step, whatever that is for you because once you take that first step your not gonna be able to stop walking. You’ll become a better you, at peace with yourself and the world around you. You’ll be able to appreciate people a lot more, and through every connection you make you’ll be moving forward, if it goes badly that’s just a learning experience.

It's still sad that the same people who ones hated you just because of your social status wants to be friends with you as soon as you are attractive and wear good clothes . Can you really call these people friends though? The moment you stop looking cool , they will leave you . Working on yourself isn't bad but what's sad is that no one cares about the so called nerd for the person he is . Like I love spending time with nerds , even though they can be socially awkward and sometimes unattractive, they have a lot going on inside their brain and you can learn a lot from them . They are pretty smart . But people nowadays only seem to care about your outward appearance only .

I can relate to being lonely and dealing with hell in high school. As a 17 year old now, I have more friends outside of school than in school, and I have more money than most of those kids can ever dream to see. It's really important to realize that high school is temporary. And thank god, because I have went through so much pain. However, after high school I will be able to go in the real world as I have already dealt with hardships. And also those kids who are getting everything in high school will have a rude awakening.

really nice Motivation my friend and kinda inspiring but gen Z is doomed. I was Born '97 and had everything you guys dream about expect for an career. never had problems with girls but problems chasing money bc it doesnt fullfill me tbh. I can say that with confidence as a 25 y old. maybe i am a simple man but i just want the love of my life by my side and enough money to travel further (+ basic needs & appartement ofc. ) I've traveled a lot but that was nothing, theres so much more to see.. the feeling of checking into a nice hotel with your girlfriend all alone and throwing yourself on the bed first time and closing youre eyes is the best thing in the world for me. the feeling of independence, not being dependent on others and being sad because my friends left me on read on the weekend. its just us 2. i just don't have any "real" friends. imo theres no such thing as friendship as adult, only love. but thats just my take on that, other people say theres no real love but friendship haha (cope)
What I actually wanted to say is that, according to studies, Gen Z has no sex, problems with socializing ezc etc etc. and you don't learn to socialize overnight. I was also lucky with the times before tik tok and musically existed. meeting people for a beer & joint, doing stupid things not for clout but fun. Oh and i believe here in europe we are not that doomed as American Gen z lol

Heheh it's indeed true that sometimes you do need to go through some steps to fit in certain groups, the image of wojak in cars with chads all dressed the same is kinda spot on.
But one thing is not true: you don't need to change. If you're a nerd introvert like Wojak you can always hang out with other nerd introverts and share how is it. Whatever you are in the world there's many millions that can relate.
It's important to not feel like you're wrong or don't fit. It's a dangerous thinking.
Most people have hard times opening up, they feel stupid when sharing, don't be. I'm 36 and I don't have that many friends, like all adults, but all those i have I don't need to compromise or fit, they like me the way I am and so I like them for what they are.

I appreciate the conversation with his dad at the start.
When I was little, my dad would push me like that, and I thought that he was always stressing me out. But now, i see where he was coming from. Its okay to be introverted! But you don't have to be alone. They're are other people like you who feel the same way. I'm speaking from experience.
I decided to join a video game club in high school. I was one of the only girls there, and I barely knew anyone. I was really shy and uncomfortable at first, but at some point I didn't want to play video games alone anymore at the club.
I decided to approach people who played the same games as me, and I got to meet a lot of awesome people! Even people who were also shy like me. By graduation, I had a small friend group and we were pretty much icons in that club. We got to give a speech to the underclassmen. It was really nice. Even while in college, we still talk every now and then.
Once I got to college, I took what I learned from high school and started joining clubs. I joined a Christian Fellowship club, and got to meet some amazing people. It was nice being able to talk about my faith with people my age! I also joined a women's engineering club, it was awesome getting to learn from the upperclassmen about engineering, and the experiences of being a woman in the field. Even now, it feels like a sisterhood.
I also appreciate this video's message. If you want to be better, BE BETTER. Take care of yourself, and live the life you were blessed with! I also started going to the gym and started eating healthier. I’ve also been taking care of myself mentally.
I know I'm writing a lot, but I really appreciate this video. Thank you for making it bro.
