Owning one of these the biggest issue is the UI with menu diving which is a nightmare and, most people will hate it but, if you use the plugin it makes life a lot easier with what this has to offer, which beats the Micro Korg 1 and 2 in so many areas including Chris Huggett design idea to include so many wavetables to create unique sounds.
I have a juno 60, mino nova, matrixbrute, a polybrute12 , sub37, korg micro2 and a obx. On to the big guns. Jupiter x . A minimoog And the king a cs80 To be fair these vintage synth my dad aquired these legendary boards back in the day new or slightly used and i grew up playing them. I was so blessed but bot realisong for some time as digital was taking over as a kid i thought they were too old. Bit after abadnoning them for 3 years i ran back to them in my teens and havent stoped loving them. Sadly my kids have no interest so i will have tonfind a good hone for them one day
I bought my Ultranova almost 10 years ago, and i use it everyday. Is it the best synth out there by todays standards? No, not even close. But it sounds decent, and more importantly it sounds very much like itself. It is unique and nothing quite sounds like one. If you like that sound, get one. It is super flexible and , in my opinion truly excels in abstract, creative intricate sound design, especially for pads, very expressive leads, and "digital modular" type weirdness . Dont expect it to sound thick and analog and let it be its own thing and you will be very pleased The Ultranova in particular has the added advantage over the otherwise identical Mininova of a much knobbier and easier to program interface, full sized velocity and aftertouch enabled keys, and a built in 2x2 audio interface. I have a whole studio swiss army knife that fits with my laptop in a backpack I will never sell mine .
Forgot, VOCAL effects, not just a vocoder but other effects, roland has of jxdi and the new microkorg 2, which cost more, but do they sound better, hmm
Just ordered one from Amazon. Thank you for the info- I'm a newbie
Wow, the MiniNova still shines! Great insights.

Just ordered a mini nova! Super excited to get started with it.
MiniNova proves age is just a number. Solid pick!
Agreed!
considering buying one-this helped a lot, thanks!
classic sound with modern relevance-love it!
the MiniNova never disappoints, even years later!
I suspect probably Novation must be about to release a substitute
This synth is still a beast in 2025!\"

Are the output(s) noisy. Hum? Etc.
The outputs are pretty quiet in my experience

Does it work well for live gigs in 2024?
