Those early ASSSCATS were the best! My friend turned me on to it, inviting me along to see them at SoloArts on West 17th St. I wanna say mid-late 1990s? It was the best time period cause between or after shows you could actually meet and talk to the four UCBers as they weren't really famous yet. Not that crowded, not much of a line, easy to get a good seat. Didn't stay that way long! Word spread fast. They brought so much joy to so many. Later caught them at the ex-porno theater on W 22nd St. A larger but not as pleasant theater. After a while, walking home from the shows felt like a crack high wearing off, just too depressing, so I tapered off my attendance. Their ComCent TV show was good but not as good as the live ASSSCAT. They did an exceptional job on the DVDs of the tv show. The commentary tracks were superb! Better than the TV show, actually.
@RaptorFromWeegee we were lucky to live in the city in the 90's. It was the best of times. Until that one morning I when I witnessed the ritual that heralded the beginning of the destruction and restructuring of all aspects of our society. I wish I had a time machine to go back to a time before we gave up our freedom to corrupt leaders who have destroyed everything we once enjoyed. Brace yourself. It gets much worse. Enjoy yourself it's later than you think
So this was edited by someone who really likes the comedy and improvisation of the UCB but just can't stand those f bombs. I understand it, but I just don't understand it. Thanks!
Haha I edited this as a teenager so I could show my parents in an attempt to convince them to let me take improv classes. It worked. They liked it, and I was allowed to join an adult improv class :D
Hey you know, I know that it isn't your fault that this is the only remaining remnant of the original video. I just...am disappointed that this is what's left of it on RUclips. Also my improv teacher thinks is this is the worse ASSSSCAT set but I disagree!!!!! 👏👏
@@breadfan_85 This was originally a RUclips video which is no longer up, I believe posted by another random nothing account. My guess is that by that point it’s already a copy of a copy of a copy 😅 But I think this was televised at some point.
Yeah, sorry - this was the clean edit I made to watch with my parents years ago. There was no cleaning up that scene haha. I don't really remember but I think I cut a couple of scenes.

Yeah, unfortunately I made this when I was like 16 - even then I was aware it wasn't great, but I think I decided it was necessary for the scene to make any sense/it wouldn't have worked to edit out.
Going to these shows on W 22nd in the 90's was the best night out.

This is the best improv I’ve ever seen by far. So clever and funny
You can see the early beginnings of Leslie Knope with Amy's gift giving sketch.
Everytime I doubt Amy has good morals she proves me wrong.
Cool how Bradley Cooper is in the audience
I think I saw Dax Shepard as well
andy daly is a savage
He’s a fuckin genius

Yeah so anybody got the real video
Yes??!
It was youtube when I made this :( Not sure what happened to it
its on Tubi lol
Far too many comments about the R word and too few about men talking about hitting their wife.
What did you edit out?
Mostly f bombs, plus an unfortunately really funny scene about a sex ed class, and I think maybe another one about a kid with pornstar grandparents

No. That looks nothing like her.
50:20 the mother she describes is clearly a narcissist.

Love this show, so they use that R word. So what, it is edgy comedy. Adjust. If it bothers you, that’s you, some can take it.
what a meaningless comment. "If it bothers you, that's you" truly amazing work detective, how did you manage it?
