Brilliant job on the build John. Your dedicated work is inspirational for all of us on long running projects! See it through. I look forward to your final reveal!
thank you my friend, ive been watching a channel now for the past 7 years working on a sailboat, and thats only 6 months away from finished, i will see it though
It's looking great John, this model is the reason I found your channel as I build my Mantua offering. Really pleased you have found your mojo for Victory and I am looking forward to you chipping away to the finish. 👌
It’s looking really nice. 11 months sounds doable, but you know your pace. Myself, I would probably get burnt out from it. With deadlines, I start out all gun ho, but that quickly does a 180 and languishes. Have a great week
Hey John. Great Channel! Thank You for posting all this amazing content. I am a Matchstick Modeller myself, but seeing these videos has got my mind thinking of a new project!!
Cheers neil, some 3d printed cranes arms, would have saved me about 6 months, on construction, that’s something maybe you could look into for your own build mate
Brilliant ship John beautifully built i think you should go with the little hammocks as it would add more detail good idea to stain them with tea. Until next time take care 🎉
I’ve spent the last two months working on my Heller kit, like you I had hit burn out on it and I am reaching that point again, coincidentally I’m a t assimilated point
ye burn out is a massive problem kevin, in the first 2 years building victory for youtube i released about 70 videos, but over the kast 2 years its only been around 20 videos
Hey John. Your channel is absolutely amazing! I am currently on #44 of Victory. My significant other has said she will be getting me a kit for this Christmas. Though I will now need to wait to find out what one. Your content has enspired me to start my own channel about Matchstick Modelling. I have uploaded my first video recently. If you have time, please take a look :) Keep up the great work. Your skills are exemplary. Best Regards, Saul.
John - it's a beautiful build so far. But, with that said, why put a deadline so to speak on the finish. It will be done when I'm happy is my rule of thumb (and why I have at least 5 wood and plastic models in various stages of build😵💫)
Hi JD the time frame is just to keep me motivated, if I wasn’t building this for RUclips, it would be finished when it’s finished, but because I’m building it for RUclips I know a lot of people would like to see it completely finished
Ye mate, I’ve spent 5 hours working on it today, 5 hours on a part works kit would be about 25 issues built, but in the crazy world of wooden ship building, in them 5 hours, I rigged two block and tackles of some canons🤣

Looking forward to seeing the next stage.
People who don't make models don't realise the time commitment needed to complete the project.
It’s crazy John, the amount of time you have to invest, they say only 5% of HMS Victory models ever get finished, most are started in retirement
It's looking great John, this model is the reason I found your channel as I build my Mantua offering. Really pleased you have found your mojo for Victory and I am looking forward to you chipping away to the finish. 👌
thnak you craig, i would like to get it finished with a year. ive got a battle stations kit n from mantua to build next
Just looked it up and it looks like a real talking point diorama.
It’s a great sale also at 1/34 scale, it was my 48th birthday gift from my partner
Great update John. you can do anything when you put your mind too it.
After over 4 years building victory I would like to get this finished mark

Have a great week
I totally agree Johnny, but I’m just going to solo work on victory, and see how far I get, maybe back end of 2024 is more realistic
Near 5yrs, now u know y i keep saying its a labour of love, favourite build by a long shot
Cheers dee, 4 years ago I thought I couldn’t build a large channel just building hms Victory alone , that was a mistake
@@Johnbuildsiconic hard work paid of john, also ur tips n tricks, and ur methodology of building, i wonder how many ppl have been helped along by them
Hey John. Great Channel! Thank You for posting all this amazing content. I am a Matchstick Modeller myself, but seeing these videos has got my mind thinking of a new project!!

Thank you Annie
She is looking quite lovely mate. I think your motivation will also motivate me to do mine too.
Cheers neil, some 3d printed cranes arms, would have saved me about 6 months, on construction, that’s something maybe you could look into for your own build mate
Well she looks awesome
thank you my friend
Great job, I had the same one - but I showed it to my friends and dropped it, now it’s broken
That’s sad news, mine will be shown safely behind a display case
Brilliant ship John beautifully built i think you should go with the little hammocks as it would add more detail good idea to stain them with tea. Until next time take care 🎉
Thank you rod, I will show the hammock closer in the next video

The kit hammocks do look a bit big. Is there a 3D print available? would be a lot easier 🙂
that would be a option i could look into tommy
Very nice build thus far. Olha Batchvarov on her YT channel has a nice montage of her build of this model.
Ye I’ve watched that video
So cool. 👍
Thank you
Great update
Thank you
Is the mizzen the only one you have the chai plates installed on?
Yes Jimmy, but over the next two weeks, I’m going to complete all the chain plates
Looking good John!
Thank you
Looks great John, what kit is this and where can I get it?
Hi Chris, The base kit is deagostini, but I’ve scratch built over half the parts, so the kit would look nothing like my build
@@Johnbuildsiconic thanks John and apparently the link that you provided doesn’t exist anymore.
Ye it was sold though model space sure it want bankrupt, goggle www.deagostini.com/uk/
@@Johnbuildsiconic thanks for the info John. I’m currently working on the rigging stage of ZHL’s S. Felipe and looking for my next project

Hi John, you are doing well, good job up to stage you are, masts rigging etc good luck,
Thank you my friend
Where did you but this kit
Crosses everything 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💪💪💪💪💪
Thank you eddy
My guess, 2% building, 98 % rigging. 🤣
Most likely Jimmy
Now check to see if it floats please
Nose 👃to the grindstone you should do it John.

***************************** I bet it will take at least 2 MORE YEARS!*****************************
I think you could be spot on with 2 years olha
Now, now you go back to the Victory? 🤣😂🤣😂🤣🤪BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I always go back to her luis
