Youngsta spoke the truth, the Coloured community having been consuming American Hip Hop since the beginning, our idea of identity was partly shaped by American figures due to extreme lack of representation and media coverage of our own community. We saw ourselves in the likes of American artists and understood their struggle against the system.
When Eagle said 'Ja Keanan' I felt that.
SJAVA my favorite artist...love from Dallas Texas USA
God damn wow!
Amen🙏
Louisiana, California, Mississippi... Touchdown!
The accent switch when Eagle speaks to Keanan is about as South African as it gets 😭
Keanan?
Coloureds have different accents from black people... stop the hate...
@@darkmagnis2902 I think you misunderstood him.
@@darkmagnis2902 I don't think he was trying to be disrespectful.
@@HenryDube72 oh ok... my bad hun... 🙏 forgive meh 😂😂😂💋💋💋💋
I wish this was longer. These were honest, uncensored chats that South African media doesn't want to cover. ❤️
YoungstaCPT is so informative, he's an activist for sure. He's doing the music to convey the message. I saw him at Afropunk. Man took a moment to school the masses about our South African politics. He's a gatekeeper for sure. I respect him too much!✊
Fam its crazy that so many people still sleeping on his album .. Such a strong & valuable body of work especially as a South African
@@DwayzeOnBlaze well as you know it the realest in the game never get the recognition they deserve. It's the curse that comes with being the Realest!
freestyle he did at afropunk is something I’ll never forget.
Why youngstacpt when rapper he compared him to the US rappers. That is why J cole tell him don't compare America rappers wt Afrikans. Youngstacpt have busy body boom
Facts
First of all, shout out to Youngsta's barber !!
Awe! There's something satisfying about black Americans visiting our country! I feel like mainstream media in America doesn't want Americans seeing what's out here. Shout out Ebro! and the artists representing us well!
Not that they don't want, they just don't care.

Should've done more with YoungstaCPT, man's got a lot to say.
Beats 1 must give him his own episode
He's an activist ✊
A lot of misinformed, hypocritical "Coloured" garbage.
@@uhadibenga5639 who are you a angry with?
@@uhadibenga5639 It's only garbage because it doesn't include you.
I am from Sierra Leone and I love Sjava's Music I don't understand the language but I can feel his music.
Have you heard his song 'ngempela'? 😎..its nice
❤❤❤
IsiZulu
His music is universal I wish you could understand the lyrics, he talks about real life issues.
james kristel yes I have it is a beautiful song . I Liston to all Sjava music on Spotify

🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦Sjava is 100% himself
Wat i like to sjava used the indigenous language when he rapper
Yea....South Africa with the vibes from Hip Hop to Kwaito, House and so on. Shout out from Nigeria.
Shout out to Beats 1 radio and apple music! We appreciate yall taking an interest in our culture. Hopefully yall have a longer interview up yall sleeve cause there is such a story to tell! We are african, rich in cultural diversity, built through pain and joy, and full of warmth and love. Ebro we appreciate you brother!
The african queen at the end 😍😍😍😍😍😍😱... shoutout ebro for opening up the window to us and showin a difrent beautiful world.. in a positive fashion...lets hope the the youtube algos dont block this content from getting out to the people here in the U.S.. More african content please!!!!!!
Her name is Amanda Black. Check out her music here on RUclips homie, especially her song "Amazulu" ✌
yall are more welcome to ask us to share SA content we can show you the way
Leave people be with their accents, yall act like the gate keepers of accents, anyone can speak how they like, South Africans don't even have the same accents, yall act like being an African should be a cult
Youngsta is so woke and real,he really deserves this shine
People tripping about Shane's accent like he hasn't been speaking that way for the longest in the public eye , maybe even his whole life 🙄
Yo, I've never heard of YoungstaCPT but I'm an instant fan. That man has a strong head on his shoulders.
Youngstacpt's interview had a lot of profound stuff🙏💯
True!
Keep doing this Ebro!! Hip Hop is global & it's dope to see it form all across the globe!
Thank you for this. Our country was represented well, and with depth. It's necessary. The music lives on.
WE CANT WAIT FOR YOU TO COME BACK SO WE CAN SHOW MORE OF WHAT WE'VE CREATED FOR OURSELVES!!! I always wondered what the world knew about us and this video helped me see just how much the world is missing out on what we have to offer in terms of information, art, history, etc... I'm excited to be a part of the generation that puts South Africa on the map for the right reasons.
Awesome, if you African or not show sum love.
I think we need a documentary that will show as many hood as it can so that the world can see great variations amongst different communities and townships around South Africa, because there are visionaries out there who aren't on every page of social media or even on any platform where he/she can be seen or heard out.
Mate u vy to phoniex its different to umlazi which is different to Alexandra
"Awe hond" was the cherry in top.
This is one of the dopest interviews iv seen so far thnx gents. It's uplifting Shane!! Sjava!! Youngsta!!
Thank you Ebro... This is such an informative and educational video... Enjoyed it so much. Thanks for speaking to my brother Youngsta CPT🙏DEFINITELY one of the best ever!!!
Shane is from a hood just next to mine 😭🔥🔥🔥 Ebony Park. He’s one of my biggest inspiration.! ✊🏽💯
Bro when I needed to listen to underground and old school good hip hop I always knew that Coloured dudes and girls are the best people to approach.
They kept the culture alive and even to this day they have the roots.
Big up👊👊🔥🔥🇿🇦
Salute to all our mense that watched this one! We global now! Blessings and peace from Australia to all the coloureds at home and around the world!
Damn bro Youngsta so real.
"With the experience that I've had with gate keepers I myself what kind of gate keeper I want to be now that I'm in that position" 🔥
Xibelani made it on Ebro. Tsonga tribe is global. This interview was a beautiful experience. As a South African...this was very informative, all thanks to Ebro and our artists. Mzansi we are one, Africa we are one, we are global.
Beautiful!!! I wanted to go on... ❤❤❤

Shout out Youngsta for being the first SA artist to address the coloured status in this country not like the sell out aka don't @ me
Selling out makes you money
True im Xhosa n i like him (youngsta cpt)for representing his tribe, aka is only pro black n pro black women to make money coz coloreds are the minority i feel...
exactly, same with every other south african artist with an american accent, Nasty C, A reece etc, only Youngsta keeps it real and big zulu and duncan etc, not these american wana be skkr skkr girls
we shouldn't put another done, aka was born in cape town, but grew up in joburg, so his experience is different
@@techmansa dont forget drie manskap hey they also represent, sjava would be great if he wasnt a misogynist colorist in his music but then again almost all rappers are...
Where my South Africans at ✊✊✊
South Africans and the African Americans are like twins , our experience and the Cultures are like the similar. Even our country . The Western cape and The West CA side , the hip hop there is so similar. Joburg is like Chicago vibes and a bit of New York. I am not surprosed why Black Americans get inspiration from South African Hip Hop .
i really enjoyed this. wish each artist had a dedicated episode though.
Yea that would be nice
Definitely!
Ebro ma Man🇿🇦🤜🏿✊🏿
Thank U Ebro, Sir this is sooo Dope & big Upz to all Artist in da interview who represented SA🇿🇦 and wht they stand for so humbly
I dont know Y but Youngsta Cpt reminds me of da late Mr.Devious, coz his standing 4da very same thing Devious stood for ,its almost like da late Mr.Devious gave him da 4x4 relay baton (stick) to continue da race where he left off,and his doin a spectacular job this far....#YoungstaCPT is da Truth🔥☄⚡
#Respect to every single 🇿🇦 Hip Hop Artist for putting us on da Global Map🌎
" in this city, Im the gatekeeper now" - YoungstaCPT
As a south African I cringe when our local rappers accents suddenly become all american when they get interviewed ffs just use your own true accent.🤣 but shout out to yungsta for keeping it real
J.c kanon bra!!! It gets to me everytime
Same here. It's as if he is ashamed of his South African identity
But Shane Eagle always
had that accent and he never switch up,so what are you talking about.
You want him to speak like an Afrikaans coloured?? Ever heard of Phat Joe on Radio 2000? now that's an American accent, but you don't ever see us questioning it, ever heard Trevor Noah's pronunciation of various words now that he is in the states?
If Shane spoke in SA's model C accent which is notorious in our entertainment industry, you would of accused him of been white. So there's no winning. Let people be
@@aliseinwonderland6232 phat Joe moved to the states at a young age, and only returned as a teenager, so he grew up with that accent
Cape Town stand up, where HipHop was born in Africa
In SA, why you gotta include the rest of Africa as if you know their history when it comes to hip hop ..y’all so ignorant purposefully
Lol in africa? You better chill.
Bhambatha.
@s 97 I said chill because it's your opinion not a fact.
Haha yeah right!
Shout out Ebro, you can see this man is genuinely interested in the history of it all
Soul touching journey, thank you Ebro

Thanks to Ebro man! Hope this is only the beginning, it's been a long time coming for S.A to show how they've always been standing up and definitely big up to these incredibly talented ARTISTS here and many more!!! 😭😭😭 Yeah! Excited as hell!
Thanks Ebro
Youngsta still has that Cape Town Verword teaching running in his veins, taught by his grandfather and father that mixed-race Africans aren't African and should be proud and not mix with others. A Verwoerd success story if you ask me.
I came here for the Eagle ...
14:45 looking like an episode of the South African narcos 😂😂😂
I see you Ebro in Soweto the Hood
This was dope.
This is great.💯
