i suffer from bulimia and i interpret a lot of it i this song, like "i cant believe this happened" when loosing control and binge/purging, "maybe a cup of self control would be the route" to have enough control to resist a binge, "am i under control" when binging and and binging and not knowing how much more you're gonna eat, "just a sip" to eat a bit but it's the ed just trapping you to another binge/purge. i personally listen to this often when i feel like i have binge purge urges and it helps me a bit to overcome the addiction.
i imagine this song to be about, getting rid of an addiction, and gaining control with emotions since the song says “Maybe a cup of control be the route” and “maybe i should sit this one out” which might mean the speaker has an addiction with helping people with their problems even if people don’t want him to

But being someone who has smoked ganja just about daily (sometimes on and off) for 9 years now (started way young dont smoke weed when you're in 7th grade) I can tell you this song is real melancholic in a good way and much more amplified.
