Hey Ryan, it was awesome seeing you out on the course. It was your videos that I studied over the past two years while planning my Javelina race. We kicked ass in the desert. I finished with a smile on my face. Keep inspiring!
Congrats!!!! Sometimes what we see as failure is simply setting us up to succeed somewhere else down the line. Cool to see you in my back yard. I'm a mtn biker (physical issues keep me from running 😢) but I turn tons of miles out on Pemberton and all of the surrounding parts of the Scottsdale Sonoran Preserve. Such a beautiful place to be. Thanks for putting these videos together for us to all enjoy!!!!
Ok, I screwed up the comment. Let’s try again! Thank you for this man! You’re an inspiration for sure. It ain’t a 100, but I’m doing a half marathon in the spring. And like the dude in the video, I blame you. But in a good way! Rock on Duzer!!!
Ryan - nice video, McDowell is an incredible place and you captured the best part, the sunrises. You have a long way to go age wise for outdoor challenges, I’m 68 and live on the northern border of McDowell where I go almost daily the mountain bike and hike (knees won’t permit running anymore). Keep moving.
Only 4 minutes in, but just wanted to thank you for the little pop-up in Celsius! I suspect that a large proportion of your viewership is from the US, so adding that little detail is appreciated.
Woooooweeeee congratulations! You are so much fun to watch ! Your energy is contagious😊. I watched your video on the Great divide and never thought of it as a failure. It was an epic challenge !
You can do hard things at any age. Not a hundred miler but I did my one and never again marathon at the age of 60. My goal…finish while the finish line was still open. I finished and didn’t need to be carried to the car. I’ve done over a 100 half’s. Keep doing hard things that are important to you.
The first step to not being able to do something is to doubt that you can do it. You're going to be the guy riding RAGBRAI at age 100, man- keep it up!
My ultimate goal to run a 100, this year I started with a half marathon. You inspire me to keep going, I’m 43 and my goal is to run a 100 by 45. I’m going to do it!
Of course you can still do hard things as you get older but not necessarily the same things that you did when younger to the same level. It’s ok to accept that you aren’t young anymore. This does not mean you can’t challenge yourself. I started running in my 50th after a lifetime of saying ‘I can’t run’. I don’t go far but I do it.
I've been watching your videos for a few years, now and appreciate your content very much. Yesterday, I ran my first official semi-marathon. That was in Toulouse, South-West of France. And it's maybe thanks to you in some ways. Thank you, Ryan for motivating all of us.
@@duzer I'm OK despite my 54 years of age. Don't over think about your age too much. 45 is still very young. Our bodies can do incredible things, if we take care of ourselves.
Man this video had everything. Duzer, Hellah, David & Megan, Jamil, Jurek, all my favorite running role models having a big running party together. Congrats on a great race, Ryan. Looking forward to that Cocodona video :)
Awesome video!!! This gave us so much inspo to keep going strong in our 100k training for the black canyon in Feb., thanks for being so positive and making hard things seem achievable!
Duzer! I was also there doing my first 100k! It was cool to see you in person! Congrats on an excellent race and a great video to come out of it too! I was wondering if you have some advice. My stomach started cramping after the first lap and I couldn't get it to calm down. I tried coke, ginger ale, ginger candy, mints, tums, pickle juice - anything... but it just kept cramping and I ended up walking a whole lot because bouncing motions from running made it more painful. Any idea what could help in this situation? Thanks! (this happened to me twice before, when it was also very hot, in regular conditions my stomach can handle anything)
Oh bummer! There’s nothing worse than a bouncy tummy. I’ve had this happen too, and I’ve never really figured out how to make it subside. Some days my body cooperates, and some days it doesn’t. Sorry I’m not more helpful
I was in Scottsdale just down the road when you were running this....we had a wedding to attend that weekend. Wish I would have known as I would have come cheered you on!
Just recently found your channel and binged some of your videos great personality and great energy for sure. Working through weight loss right now to get back on a bike was curious if you knew any foundations that you may work with or know of that donate used bikes? Thanks for the time about to finish watching you bike from C to M with Mira? Love that Dog!
Wow! I thought I was melting at 38°C cycling in Spain recently, you guys are machines!!! Thanks so much Ryan. Always great seeing you put yourself through the pain!!!
Duzer are you still hung up on the divide race? You did not fail!!!! So get that crap out of your head because it just holds you back you climbed the damn Matterhorn for crying out loud and just because you didn't reach the top because of weather you also called that a failure....really?! Let the past go and know none of it was a failure but a learning experience so heal thyself from the past young man and move onto bigger and better things and if your really hung up on the divide race then do it with John when he comes back because that's his intent to try it alone but as you said you are not a mtb racer so why the admonishment? Your an inspiration to many Ryan and maybe thats where your future lies to do short inspirational bike rides with groups of people who would like to give it a try but don't know where to begin. You conquered your fears Ryan now conquer the world!! Loved it!!! :) :)
You did it again, with honors. When you keep moving, age takes longer to catch up. And I'm totally on board with the idea of a slightly shorter, yet greater life. The alternative is not worth it.
If only running was as easy as you make it look! But then again it would not feel like a challenge, and not create such a sense of achievement. 🤔 Congrats on sub 20!

Thanks, I’m a fan of the natural sounds. It’s more immersive
Congrats on finishing and for not letting the tour divide stop you from doing the things that you enjoy.
