    The last 10 mins is why I think Aaron is one of the best instructors out there. It is simply because he is a TEACHER in every sense of the word. Not a shooter, or performer, or grand master, but a teacher. He even goes so far as to show you his own mistakes and teaches you why he is making those mistakes. In the firearms training community, people get so wrapped up in preforming and the instructor being absolutely perfect that they dismiss the fact that if the person can TEACH, he doesnt have to be the BEST shooter on earth. If you can teach even from your mistakes, I believe you have surpassed the bar of an "instructor", and have reached the level of TEACHER.

    Excellent video. I'm a 77 year old fart who just got a new gun (XD clone) with a new to me red dot and I have the shakes when shooting. Using what you are teaching I have already noticed a dramatic improvement in my ability to hold the gun steady and hit stuff I couldn't hit before.. Thank you !!

    I have wondered many times if left handed shooters are at a distinct disadvantage when trying to follow instruction fro right handed instructors. I always heard the words if your left handed just do the opposite. This of coarse comming from all the right handers. I now know it is just that simply and that a good thing. Great instruction, you're a born teacher. In spite of what they say about Doers and teachers.

    Thanks for a great instructive video. I am a beginner, waiting for delivery on a purchased gun, trying to learn as much as possible before taking that first shot. I might have missed this, but in shooting videos generally, very little is said about mechanics of trigger pull, specifically wbuch digit is preferable to make a sright back continous pull. Your video was a difficult one to.make since you tried to cover the fundanentals of every aspect of the grip. For me, this has been the. est video i have seen on shooting. There is one possibilty that you did not discuss for shooting to the right. Your gun might want to shoot that crappy ammo to the right. I watched 2 vdeos where 92 berreeta abd Sig 320 were bench tested using a mechanical grip with 5 or 6 different types of ammo. Both of those very accurate guns failed to.shoot well woth at leat one ammo, which were different ammos for the different guns. Thanks much!

    Pretty quick at clearing the malfunction. I used 1 case of S & B and have never got a failure to fire but I use a hammer gun (92FS) which strikes the primer with more force than a glock. If you pick that round up and put it back in your glock sometimes it will fire. They are just prone to light primer stikes but thanks for the good information.

    I have the exact problem of diping the muzzle as a subconciously attempt to compensate for recoil. I found this out by mixing dummy rounds into my mags when shooting. The problem of this behavior is that my sight picture that recovers from a shot when I am dipping the gun will have the front post lower than the notch and then I have to raise the muzzle up to regain the correct sight picture. I found that if I don't dip the gun my sight picture will always recover to correct one despite the fact that I don't strong arms (I'm 168 lb, 6 ft and fairly lean).

    Love this video! Great content and instruction. Master grip is a big deal. I notice especially from strong side carry, my grip technique on the draw is different with the G26 vs the G19. One reason why recently I've stopped carrying the 26 as often. Appendix is a lot easier to get a solid grip on both, but sometimes you need to change position. I usually have my arms locked out. Definitely need to try the elbows bent. Looks like a more solid way to apply that support hand sideways pressure.

    I go ahead and wrap my support hand pointing finger around the front of the trigger guard. This not only puts my support hand up higher on the gun, but it also puts more pressure towards the muzzle of the gun. Isn't that the two places we're trying get? High and forward? I don't understand why more instructors don't teach this technique. It also allows me to achieve a more natural forward "wrist lock". I understand that this grip will cause most shooters to miss left(for right handed shooters). This is because they're adding lateral pressure to the front of the trigger guard. Concentrate on adding rearward pressure to the front of the trigger guard, to correct this.

    • @SageDynamics
      @SageDynamics  5 лет назад +1

      Jamie Sloan the reason that grip isn’t more popular is because it’s only effective with certain shooters and even then it does not provide the same degree of efficiency with a higher rate of fire.

    Still don't know what to do. I asked this on the last video you posted about grip, didn't get it answered, and I'll ask again here: do I twist my forearms in towards each other, do I push-pull, do I...what?! You still haven't covered what to actually *do*, that is once you've got that good grip and then extended the pistol out so that you've got a bit of bend in your elbows. Once you're *there*, what do you do? Do you push forward with the primary and then pull back with the secondary, do you twist, do you...what, what do you do?

    8:00, I have this issue with my primary grip fingers digging into my support hand palm.
    Small hands, shield plus.
    Where/how are you applying pressure with the support hand to avoid this? Are you squeezing more with your support hand thumb & fingers and less with the heel of the palm?
    I guess I'm squeezing inward towards the grip of the gun with my support hand, but need to find a better way.

I carry a glock and practice with it, but I enjoy playing with other firearms whether for fun or too get better with other guns like revolvers I don't carry one and not sure I ever will unless I wanted one for dangerous game hunting, so how can you build a grip that will work well with anything I pick up like a revolver that has a significantly different grip profile to most semiautomatic magazine fed pistols?
