More than 20 peak disability organisations are calling on the federal government to halt the rollout of independent assessments in the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

It's the biggest change to the NDIS since it was established in 2013 and the government says it will make the scheme fair and equitable for all Australians.
But many people with disability fear they will lose essential supports.
