I didnt truly appreciate thos song until i watched the Stray Kids survival show. This was their first song, they wrote it for a challenge in one of the earliest episodes. It has since become a beautiful anthem of hard work, nostalgia, and hope.
This song carries a lot of symbolism and emotion as this song is pre-debut and the song that they created during their survival reality show that they endured to prove that they should debut. The member that you said had a nice high time is no longer in the group, making them the geoup we know today, from late 2019 to now. Han does sing and rap. The lyrics, composition, and arrangement were done by 3Racha (Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han - you'll see them in the guide). This song talks about how hard it is as trainees in Korea, who really start at a young age, to learn to be an idol as well as school. Given this chance to debut is just the start to climb up from hell. Skz lyrics are very important to understand as they write with feeling and the nessage that they want to convey. Another song which is a bit lighter but big impact is Levanter. Nice to see you try to understand the lyrics, not only enjoying the mv.
Ty for this reaction! This song is so special to SKZ and STAY that i was almost afraid to watch it in case you didn't like it😂. I know that the lyrics are really deep and heart-wrenching, but there's another layer that makes Hellevator even more special. At the time that they were creating this song and filming the mv, the behind-the-scenes for them were almost unbelievably hard. Some day after you get to know SKZ more, I recommend watching the survival show (it's on RUclips w subtitles). I don't want to give too many spoilers, but they literally went through hell to debut. Though JYP went ahead and released this song during the show, the company was still scaring and stressing the shit out of stray kids members and threatening to kick them out at any time. I cried, no joke. Rewatching this mv after the show gave me whiplash and a HUGE respect for those 8 young men. I even made a RUclips short in tribute bc it affected me so much ruclips.net/user/shortsHDp4XsBZI9w?si=FdFk4QJiYUpAKXSi As far as Domino goes, i recommend watching a "color-coded" lyric video first. They are such a great way to get to know who sings what, as well as lyrics. Definitely watch the dance practice, though--it's ICONIC. Most of their dance practice videos have bad audio bc it's a recording being played live while they practice. There's also an "Unveil" mv for domino that would be great to see you react to (if you don't mind doing 3 things). It isn't a full mv for the song, but rather a teaser type thing for the album when it came out (they actually do teasers a lot). Again, thanks for a great reaction!!!❤
They were all so young (16 - 20) and amazingly talented. It always gets me how Han (main rapper) hits that power note when the main vocalist refused to do it 😂...
The world above them is the world they wish to dominate, our world. The world they are in is a world where their humble beginnings start. They have crossed into this world now, you can see that with the teaser to their 5 star album when they walk down the side of the building into our world. And so, world domination has begun. The voice you liked belongs to Kim Woojin. He chose to follow a solo career in late 2019. Chan knew what he was doing when he chose everyone. Woojin is good, he has his own style, check him out. As you have done their pre debut song, do their debut song now, DISTRICT 9
Don't be concerned about the length of the reactions. I think most of us Stays happily watch videos of any length when it's about our boys. About "Domino": Like others already said, watch the lyric video and the dance practice. The audio on the dance practices usually isn't that great, but seeing the whole choreography is worth it. "Domino" sadly doesn't have a complete MV, just the unveil, which is more of a teaser and not the complete song.
The Hell they speak of is actually their journey to the top. They know it's going to be a hell journey but they're going to put themselves through it because this is their dream
I remembered another moment. Han finds himself in the elevator alone. It's not for nothing. The guy had problems that prevented him from coming with people, being in the crowd and going on stage. He's always been apart and behind. He was helped by Lee Know. In the album "Ate" this fact is played out again, but in a different way.
Edit: I have joined the discord! I can't promise anything beyond that haha, but I've thoroughly enjoyed your journey into SKZ so far. To clarify: "Hellevator" is their pre debut song. Which means it was made before their first 'official' status as a full-fledged group (as Stray Kids). This song was made during the survival show, to showcase that they were 'ready' to be a fully formed KPop group (by this point many have trained inside/outside the company for months, if not years).
Most of Stray Kids songs are meant to be performed live and therefore have a dance choreo. When I think about the amount of choreo that they have learned in the last 6 years I’m awestruck by their talent. They have said that when they were rookies that they would have to stay up all night learning their choreo but they have become much more efficient at learning their dance moves.
The song was written and released during the difficult for guys period of training in the company in 2017 when it was not clear whether they would be a group. And this song about difficulties on their way. MV was produced after their debut.
I'm really glad you liked this song. This is such an important song to Stay & Stray Kids. As others have said, it was made for the survival show that they went through to prove that they could make it as a group. (They very nearly didn't. They had a lot to prove, because they weren't put together as a group the normal way. Bang Chan was given the opportunity to put together his own group & they would have to prove to the company that they were worth the time & money it takes to debut.) They were given a task to make a song, write the lyrics, and create the choreography, in two weeks...And shoot a MV for it. Bang Chan had been making tracks for a long time (Years. Only the last part of the year with the other two members of 3Racha.) This was one of five tracks ye presented the others to decide if they wanted to make it as a song. He had titled it Elevator, because of the up & downs in the music. Changbin is the one to put the H at the beginning, to denote heaven or hell. Because they were in hell & this was what would take them out of it. The lyrics of most of their early songs are very deep, and show their hopes & fears & personal experiences. At the point of writing this song, some of the members had only been a trainee for a few months (Lee Know) to 7 years (Bang Chan. At the time of filming, that was his 7th year of being a trainee.). (And the members were between the ages of 16-20. Bang Chan was actually 19 while making this, because his birthday isn't till October & this was filmed late spring/early summer.) There was a lot of pain & hope that went into it. This is actually where a lot of Stray Kids story lore started. It's not fully in the lore, because it was a song made when they didn't know if they would even be a group at the end of it, but it is also the foundation. It started the parallel worlds. Because there are three here. One that is the past. (Static unchanging. The circular room) One peaceful & natural. (The lavender fields. Heaven) One in turmoil. (The upside down city. If you look at it, it is ravaged by fires & dark & foreboding. Hell) This represents choices. There are multiple versions of the members here. (Three to be exact) One set stayed in the circular building. Two went on the elevator, but only one went to the lavender fields. We assume the second set went to the ravaged city. (There are some theories that this is also where some members switched & are "clones" because one version of Han is in the wrong set of clothes for the group that runs through the fields. The other members who matched his set of clothes are the ones who went ton the elevator & we assume the other place) Where their debut album picks up. Their first three albums were linked by the nature of growing up & questioning your place in the world. (I Am Not, I Am Who, and I Am You) The next three were after you find yourself, what your impact on the world around you & how the world impacts you & the choices you make because of those. (Cle 1: Mirroh, Cle 2: Yellow Wood, and Cle: Levanter) Then we get two albums about celebrating who you have become. (Go Live, and In Life) The rest after are different paths, different emotions, and just exploring what the world & life have to offer.
Again, a well written synopsis for non and baby Stay. Lore esp. SKZ Lore is not easy to keep straight. This was a noICe & tight condensed overview, great for the Stayville post-it library. 🖖🏽
Glad you listened to this one before their comeback on 7/19. They have an unveil track that just came out and has elements of their previous songs, including this one. This comeback is going to hit so hard! Their b sides unveils are soooooo good already, can only imagine the title track is going to be insane 🔥
Loved your reaction, thanks! This song has so much meaning to Skz members and Stay. It's their origin story.....trainees on a mission to debut. Fun fact: Han's parents didn't want him to be an idol. They wanted him to go to university. He pled with them to give him 1 year, and if he didn't make it to the trainee program, he'd give up his dream and go to school...and just look at him now, our 4th Gen Ace! 🔥❤
You probably say in the video, but I've the attention span of a fruitfly lol what day and time is the livestream for the guide? As for "Domino" I suggest the MV teaser, a color coded lyric and then the Dance Practice. The dance practice is legendary!!!
I will be doing it early next week when I have my day off, I’ll know 100% by tomorrow night when I’ll be streaming and I’ll announce it in my discord tomorrow night
If you are interested in the process of recording songs - on the official website of the group on RUclips you can find everything - how the guys record songs in the studio, shoot music videos, have fun, travel, dance practices and a lot of other interesting content.
I suggest voices or double knot (don't think you've done them yet) For a predebut, still after all they've done Hellevator is still one of my favourites. If you enjoyed this try voices also...another one of my favs in this kind of stray kids style.
So I think you are confusing the 2 main rappers, Changbin & and Han, because a few videos ago you said Changbin was your fav rapper with his flows, but in Venom you indicated that Han was the same rapper you always appreciated. But in this reaction, when you said that you knew what rapper was coming up, Lee know rapped, then Han, lol. Not trying to make you feel bad I just think it speaks to how good they all are, one might have fire rapping or singing in a song then in another one another member is highlighted with something fire.
I agree, I was still confused on looks early on and even now that I’ve got them down 95% of the time, their vocals I still don’t always get right exactly on who is who if I can’t see them lmao, but I do know Han is my fav rapper overall at this point tho ur right, everyone is so talented
For Domino, honestly, I'd do a color-coded lyric version then the Dance practice.
Completely agree with you
The Unveil could be a nice ending
Stray Kids-Easy a cool song
I didnt truly appreciate thos song until i watched the Stray Kids survival show. This was their first song, they wrote it for a challenge in one of the earliest episodes. It has since become a beautiful anthem of hard work, nostalgia, and hope.
Check out Fam by stray kids Korean Version
this!
I recommend you to react to very different side of Stray Kids - "Cover me" ;) One of my favs :)
This song carries a lot of symbolism and emotion as this song is pre-debut and the song that they created during their survival reality show that they endured to prove that they should debut.

They wrote and produced this song during their Survival series (the show that decided if Stray Kids would be good enough to debut)
Loved your reaction, thanks! This song has so much meaning to Skz members and Stay. It's their origin story.....trainees on a mission to debut.

All In is one of their earlier bangers and I recommend it. Really fun choreography and vocals 👍 One of my go-to hype songs

Another song I love is charmer...its a B-side so no mv but I think you will like it
Some B-Sides do have MVs (MEGAVERSE, Get Lit etc)
@@SKZSALLIE that is true...but I was talking about for charmer...although there are live videos of them doing it on tour that are very nice...

Those vocals were the member no longer with the group
